Pet friendly coffee shop with reusable cups!
    Nicole B.

Ordered the El Salvador cold brew latte with vanilla syrup. I wasn't sure what to order, so the baristas helped me choose by providing me with samples of their two cold brew options. On a warm summer day, this was the perfect morning treat! Really appreciated how pet friendly they were as well as we got to bring our dog with us while enjoying our coffee. Also a huge fan of the aluminum cup!

Very pet friendly coffee shop! Their cold brew was great and I love that they put iced drinks in aluminum cups that are reusable (if you bring it back you get a discount on your next drink). Staff is friendly and it is built inside an old house so very cozy.

A very cute hole in the wall cafe that feels like they really care about their coffee. The medium roast drip was delicious and was very welcome after early morning road trip. My boyfriend tried their nitro cold brew with no additives and was also very happy.

Took my son and family for his 21st birthday. We had a group of 6 and found the coffee shop welcoming. We were greeted and the birthday boy was excited to try new coffees. We tasted 3 hot coffees and 1 cold brew during our tasting and really enjoyed the experience.

Such a cute almost hidden coffee shop. My fiancé got a cold brew, can't specifically remember what it was but he added brown sugar & oat milk to it. He loved it and said it tasted so good. I saw they also offered coffee flights there which is pretty cool. His drink also came in a reusable container which was pretty neat and eco friendly. I tried his coffee and it was pretty good considering I'm not the biggest coffee fan. Everyone there was also so nice and helpful. A nice little coffee shop.

Such a nice little spot in the town! We found this place online since we were coming in for the day. We saw they offered coffee tasting you can book online. It's $15 dollars a person, and very well worth it. You get a light roast, medium, dark roast and cold brew to try. The owner of the shop is very kind and talked us through each taste of each roast. A great casual experience to do in town, and the coffee was great! We even bought a bag of beans for home

This was a fantastic small little place that takes pride in their coffee. I got a cold brew latte and my husband got a pour over. This was a no frills (in a good way) place that somehow still felt artisanal. They were ready to customize everything to fit your tastes and needs. I'm new to coffee and he was quick to help me through figuring out what I'd like and I truly loved it! PS they give you a reusable cup. If you return for a refill it'd 2 dollars off. It's attached to a parking lot so parking is easy!

Delicious cold brew coffee!! We read about Black Mountain numerous times online so knew we had to stop by on our trip to Idyllwild. The whole shop gives a rustic, mountain feel - fitting for the area! Loved their cold brew. Also love that they serve their to-go cold coffee in reusable cups. Those plastic cups can definitely add up, but these cups are much more sustainable. They do offer a coffee-tasting flight - make sure to make a reservation in advance if you want to do this!! Highly recommend coming here for a great cup of coffee.

One of the most accommodating and talented small coffee shops I've ever been to! We stopped by because of the good reviews and they are legit. The staff knows their stuff well and the coffee profiles are unique and definitely worth the drive. We went two days in a row because I had mistakenly left my purse and had driven all the way back to San Diego. I called and the staff immediately located my bag and secured it in a safe place. They even offered to mail my bag back because of the drive. The following morning they offered me a free coffee to apologize for the 'bad experience' but I was not disappointed at all. I enjoyed chatting with the baristas, and as a veteran barista myself this place is Great coffee, great people, and great conversation!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but wifey drinks it all day long. She wanted to come here, but I told her that Black Mountain Coffee is a real deal coffee shop. As in, they don't make all these fancy fufu drinks. The owner was very friendly and educated us about coffee. The shop looks small, but there's a back patio for private tasting. We'll for sure come here again!!!

I was excited to try this spot, as I love that they seem to be really focused on good coffee and preparing it in the best way. They only do pour overs or cold brew - no espresso/latte type stuff. They also sell bags of coffee as well. The man working was very welcoming and friendly. It does take some time to get your coffee, but that's the nature of a pour over. They had many different options from light up to dark roasts from many different countries. I do wish the menu had a little more description, but they are happy to answer questions. I got a Vietnamese medium roast, which was very good. I will definitely be back when in Idyllwild. I love that there is an option like this in a small town.

I must say I was hesitant to go here for a few reasons (none of them great, to be honest). First, the name--I didn't get the connection between "arcade" and "coffee" (then again what does that matter). Second, the location: it's in an odd building that doesn't scream typical coffee shop, with restricted and unusual parking. After overcoming these nonsensical, self-created mental barriers, we walked inside and saw that this is a sophisticated operation with wonderful products, employees, and a truly unique experience. When we entered, we saw a very nice menu with pictures showcasing the drinks and highlighting what makes each one special. The barista was super casual and friendly. She asked over the counter if we had any questions and told us to let her know when we were ready. Her welcoming approach was perfect for first-time visitors. We ordered the Mango Sticky Rice matcha and the Cherry Glaze matcha. Both were delicious, and it was clear that quality is a major focus here. The matchas weren't overloaded with syrup like some places; instead, they tasted naturally infused--subtle, balanced, and perfect. For snacks, we tried the salmon bagel and the blueberry scone. Both were excellent. The bagel was fresh and packed with flavor, again showcasing quality ingredients. The scone was one of the best I've had from a coffee shop--it tasted like it came straight from a bakery. The blueberries were large and bursting with flavor, and the texture was ideal: not too hard, not too soft. It was just right. (They should name it "Goldilocks"!) In addition to coffee, matcha, and chai tea, they also offer craft sodas and other choices for any mood. We decided to enjoy our drinks and snacks inside. As we sat, we noticed they have their own bean-roasting machine (totally unique!). I've never seen one in person, but for coffee lovers who enjoy fresh roasts, this means they bring in green coffee beans, roast them on-site, and produce the freshest, highest-quality product possible. (You could say "they have the beans" -- a little Curb Your Enthusiasm reference for fans of the show.) Aside from having "the beans," they also had a projector showing the World Cup. There are plenty of seating options: tables with chairs, standing desks, sofas, and benches. We will definitely be returning to this little slice of heaven on Earth.

It is only open from 6:30AM to 12PM Monday through Friday so it's hard to get to especially if you don't work around the area. I just happened to be around the area and was able to try it out. I got a hot hazelnut latte on a cold foggy morning and it was delicious and a good balance of syrup and espresso. I usually don't care for anything extra in my latte but they definitely have a good list of seasonal flavors and their main flavors. I like how you can customize it to make your own flavors as well. I just opted for something simple and it came out good. The area around is the industrial part and seems like it would be a good place to get a pick me up if you're getting your car serviced or something. I like that they had seating even though that morning was a cold morning. I'd imagine it to be a lovely spot to have coffee and chat with a friend on a nice sunny morning. I love the coffee cart and the person who served me was very nice. I would definitely recommend and try this out again if I had the chance. They only have limited hours though, so planning to come through can be challenging if you're not a morning person or have work out of the way.
