[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute bakery shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's tons of different donuts and pastries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Theres tables outside where you can sit and bar seating inside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick. I tried their fruit tart and it was delicious. Sadly, it was so stacked that the bottom crumbled and fell apart. I also got to try their black berry cheese cake and it was so good. It was a bit heavy so it was good to eat in small servings and balanced with something savory.

The charming little bakery in the small city of Idyllwild. It has a case full of home baked goods ranging from vegan donuts, carrot, muffin, cake, maple bars, and all the in-between's. I personally really loved the apple fritter because it was unique and had so much apple flavor so I get the hype! The maple doughnut was also exceptional. They offer grab and go breakfast sandwiches and burritos. I really wanted a burrito but they were sold out by 8 AM so I got a breakfast sandwich that was pretty tasty. They also offer milks and coffees as well. The owner working the counter was really friendly and we had a good chat about animals!

Stopped in here and they have lots of good looking homemade treats! From small mini pies like strawberry rhubarb ($10) to cheesecakes to fresh donuts. Opted for the one Amelia recommended herself, the cinnamon roll. ($7). Now, we were stuffed from dinner so we didn't eat it on the spot and had it the next day with coffee warmed up in the oven. It was good but not as gooey as I personally like my cinnamon rolls to be (it was more of a flaky type of cinnamon roll than a wet gooey one). I did really like the sweet icing topping not sure if it was cream cheese base or not but it was really good. I'd stop in here and try other desserts next time.

Amelia's shop was exactly what we needed! The butter milk donuts was a buttery sweet combo. So so good!

What a wonderful bakery! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went at around 8 in the morning and seemed to bring the crowds as it got busy after us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Amelia helped us pick out a dozen donuts and was very kind and patient. She has a passion that you just feel when talking to her. All the pastries in the case looked delicious but let me tell you: that sticky bun was incredible. Over the next couple of days I had a maple and glaze -- both equally delicious and fresh tasting days later. They also have a to go case with breakfast burritos, as well as a bunch of pies (on Fridays for the weekend, per Amelia) that you can grab and go. There's a crumble pumpkin pie that I'll be getting next time I'm in Idyllwild, which a gentleman dining in said was "to die for". [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute building as well with some seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to visiting again for more than a pick up donut order!

Shared a few pastries with one of my boys. We had a sticky bun, glazed donut and a slice of cheesecake. I got a cold brew and he got a long black. Everything was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Folks inside were friendly and nice and they were just customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady behind the counter was helpful and kind.

The maple donut is everything. They make their own maple syrup in house and it is beyond delicious. I would eat this a million times. The coffee on the other hand is a miss. It comes from a machine, and it tastes like it. The flavor is flat, and it's just a run of the mill coffee. The price for the coffee is relatively low- around $5 for a latte- so that's pretty fair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's clean inside, a good place to duck out of the cold for a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's on the smaller side but it fits a good deal of people and chairs rotate open relatively quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady behind the counter knows everyone and is very friendly.

Always happy to come here. Not only is the food amazing but the owners are always welcoming and kind. I don't go to many places on the mountain because I am chronically ill and I make sure I come here at least once a week because even on my worst days I feel not just fed by food but fed with love

Picked up a pink glazed donut and maple donut after breakfast. I loved my maple donut, it was more of a old fashioned texture. My husband liked his pink glazed donut but said it was not anything special. Service is friendly and feels very small town in here. Family like vibes and welcoming ambiance. We took our donuts across the street to eat with our coffee.

    Donuts ready 7AM .

Good food, service and ambiance; The Cinnamon Bun was tasty! The ratio of frosting-to-Bun was the perfect ratio in my opinion. Also, Cheese Danish tasted great! . We will order each again. Recommend.

Stopped by for a donut and was blown away. The employees told me their pastries were a 10, and they weren't lying. Knocked it out of the park and then some Donut and Carrot cake muffin were moist and not too sweet. Coffee was excellent. One of the best donuts/muffins I've ever had!

Another great donut at Amelia's! Service is warm and welcoming. Will keep coming back every time we're in town! :)

My son has a peanut allergy. Do you use peanut oil?

No we do not peanut oil or peanuts in any of our products.

Do you use any animal fats in your recipes or for frying?

We make several types of donuts and a lot of them are baked. We use pure oils that don’t contain any chemicals. You won’t get that waxy film on your tongue with our delicacies.

These donuts are amazing but I can't explain why they're different? Can you please put into words why they're different? All I know is that they're amazing but don't know why? Are they baked? Pls don't spill your secret sauce of course!

Thank you so much for sharing. Our donuts are handcrafted homemade.

    Do you do wedding cakes?

Hello, I do simple elegant cakes. I am not a cake decorator but if you want delicious, elegant and simple, I can do that. You can text me at 760-285-4270.

Our server, Arcy (please forgive me if I spelled your name wrong!) is always lovely and just a delight to be around. She is very knowledgeable and is very helpful with any questions we have. As far as the restaurant itself, it's very in touch with the mountain, cabin vibe. It's very comforting and a nice change from your average diner. It's safe to say that my family and I will come back as we've done the years before on our trips to Idyllwild.

My girlfriend was craving a fat, juicy, pink in the middle burger and the winner of the selection…read moretonight was The Lumber Mill. It was their unique burgers that caught our eye so we decided to come in and see what's good. The first thing I noticed is that their prices seem a bit pricey for a burger and fries but all the prices here in Idyllwild are elevated so these prices are in alignment with other restaurants. And for me as the prices get higher so does my scrutiny of the food and overall experience. My reason for 3 stars instead of 4 is price vs amount of food you get - and the fact that they charge $5 for a Dr. Pepper. That's a bit obscene in my books, so 3 stars. Now the details... I was gonna get a pastrami burger ($20.99) until I noticed the Bacon Lovers ($19.99) and I'm a huge bacon lover and this is the first time I've ever seen a bacon lovers burger so I had to go with it. It is a juicy beef patty stuffed with bacon bits & topped with American cheese, more bacon and 1000 island dressing served on a brioche bun. They cooked it to a perfect med rare and it was really good. It comes with your choice of side (fries, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans or garlic mashed potato's. You can upgrade to fried pickes, zucchini, sweet potato fries, onion rings or corn nuggets for $2.50 and our waitress was raving about the beer battered onion rings so I chose those. The burger was great and so were the onion rings, however as you can see from the picture, there were not many onion rings AT ALL. I don't mind a $2.50 upgrade charge but give me some onion rings PLEASE!! Not happy about the quantity fr that upcharge! My girlfriend got the Wild Western burger ($20.99) which is a juicy beef patty topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce & onion rings. She didn't really like it much. She also upgraded to fried zucchini and she didn't much care for those either. It seems like there are good things here and some not great things here. If there is something ypu want to try here, I would go through the reviews and see what people are saying about it. Again, I feel like I got taken advantage of with that up charge on the 6 onion rings they gave me, but they did deliver on how good they are. I would recommend doing your research before ordering here.

We still weren't sure what we wanted so we requested a bit of everything (hand pie, cinnamon roll, cookies, and cake options). Not only was she lovely to talk to, she even reached out the week before to warn us about a storm that was coming through and to make sure we had an all-wheel-drive vehicle so we'd get up there safely from Las Vegas. For our tasting, she came through with incredible treats, but what really made our jaws drop was the special requests we had for the cakes. Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Lemon Poppy Seed Cake with Blueberry Cream Cheese Frosting, and a London Fog Tea Cake that blew us away. We choose the Lemon Poppy Seed with Blueberry Cream Cheese Frosting and the London Fog Tea Cake (along with some cinnamon rolls for the day after the wedding). Jamie made the process super easy. But this woman went above and beyond and truly became the MVP of our wedding. She asked if we needed help or recommendations for anything and we ended up with an incredible florist, bridal hair and makeup, and an assistant to watch and dish out the food my husband made for the wedding, and a car service to help ferry our guests to and from the venue. She also made us a gorgeous fruit plate with homemade whipped cream and lemon curd for our pre-dinner appetizers that guests thoroughly enjoyed. The cakes during our cocktails and speeches were devoured or taken home (in their convenient personal to-go tins) to be eaten later. We received so many compliments and the London Fog Cake impressed our guests, it was the clear favorite. We seriously cannot recommend Jaime enough for ANY of your baking needs, whether for birthdays, weddings, seriously, any special occasion--Jaime's baking will make it all the more special. We are so grateful we stumbled upon her page and look forward to enjoying more of her treats when we're in the area again. She's an incredible baker and an even more wonderful human.

This sourdough bakery is super cute, the staff is always top notch and genuinely friendly, and everything we've tried has been excellent. The sourdough is exactly what you want: just the right natural tang, a soft interior, and a crisp crust. They also carry and make so many other amazing items beyond the bread itself. The staff gives solid recommendations, and even when they have things we've never heard of, they take the time to explain them well. Their baked goods are consistently fantastic, and the citrus-marinated olives never even make it all the way home because we end up eating them in the car. We do not live especially close, but whenever we are in Palm Springs and have the time, we make it a point to stop by.

Bread and Flours is what I've been hunting for since I arrived in Palm Springs: real sourdough,…read morefour ingredients, and I asked before I bought. Most bread sold in this country is an engineering problem solved with a chemistry set. Twenty-odd ingredients, half of them unpronounceable, all in service of a loaf that can sit on a shelf for two weeks and still pass for food. I've been reading those labels since I got here, and putting most of them back. So I asked Kristin -- who owns the place with her husband Mark -- what goes into the sourdough. Four ingredients. That was the entire answer. You can watch the argument for it before you taste it. Mark works behind glass at the back of the shop, which means the bread isn't a product that arrives, it's a process you can stand and watch. Most of what's on the shelves is made there. The loaf earns a sales pitch it never bothers to make. The crust is hydrated and resists -- it doesn't shatter, doesn't crack apart, and never makes you work your jaw to get through a bite. Behind it, the crumb is tight and custardy, tears cleanly, and holds under work without saturating. The sour sits somewhere between lactic and acetic, neither overbearing nor understated. The bake is blond, the texture substantial -- chewy without ever becoming exhausting. If you come to sourdough chasing a crust that shatters and blisters, this one will disappoint you. It isn't built for that, and holding it against the loaf would be a mistake. A crust that splinters is a crust that quits the moment you ask it to carry something. That's the whole test, and most sourdough fails it in one direction or the other. Bread that's lovely with butter and jam collapses as soon as you build on it. Bread engineered for a sandwich is dull on its own. This does both without compromising for either -- plain with butter, or loaded up as a gourmet sandwich with everything inside, and it holds. Eleven dollars a loaf. Below what this level of craftsmanship could command. The Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookie is soft, with a properly caramelized exterior and just a hint of sourdough running underneath the sugar. The chocolate manages smooth and sharp at the same time. The Seasonal Strawberry Oat Crumble Bar is built rather than assembled. The oats are chewy and read as sweet oatmeal, not the dry feed most bars settle for; the strawberry is fresh, tart, and clearly deliberate, nothing like the thick gelatinous jam usually spooned into these things. The crumble is buttery and hydrated just enough that it doesn't lodge in every crevice of your mouth. It sits on a crust closer to a well-baked pie than a bar base, and nothing in it overpowers anything else. Both did the thing that separates real baking from the industrial version. You finish and you're happy, ready to get on with your day. Not heavy, not tired. Food is meant to energize you, not slow you down. Most of what gets sold as bread does the opposite.
