Paula, the owner, was there and was absolutely lovely to not just us but each customer that came in. Her and her (I think husband?) were super making sure that everyone had a good experience and enjoyed their food. These waffles were truly splendid! Soft inside and crunchy on the outside. My husband got the regular Belgium waffle and I got mine with peanut butter, reeses and Oreos. It was the perfect sweet treat to end the day. We noticed they have savory ones too and I have zero doubt that their breakfast ones are tasty too. There are a few tables inside to sit and there's a parking lot to park. What a terrible place to visit. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our visit to Waffleton was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the man at the register ignored us completely - no greeting, no acknowledgment. When we tried to ask a couple of simple questions about the menu, especially regarding the gluten-free options (which were very important to us due to my 4-year-old daughter's severe gluten allergy), he responded by just pointing at the menu in a condescending way, without saying a word. He seemed distracted and in an awful mood - one that my family and I did not deserve. We chose Waffleton specifically because they offer gluten-free waffles, which seemed like a great option for our family. But the lack of basic courtesy and the dismissive attitude made us feel completely unwelcome. For a place that caters to dietary needs, you'd expect at least a bit of empathy or understanding. We ended up leaving without ordering. It's really unfortunate, because we were excited to try the food - but we won't be returning. If you value basic decency, I would suggest that you avoid this place as well. Edit: I read other reviews and it seems like customer service is their main problem. Several other reviews also shared that the man and woman that work the place have been incredibly rude on multiple occasions even when it's not warranted. A trend of disrespect, attitude, and condescending behavior is clearly evident. If you are the owner and are reading this, please consider all of these reviews stating the same thing about your attitude, as well as your employee, and make the necessary changes. If your response will be one that also matches the condescending tone of your other replies, please spare me. I've had enough of this place's attitude. Learn to be accountable and recognize that when one owns a business, one must smile sometimes and just simply say "I'm sorry". PS: before there is an excuse, no there were no lines - we were the only ones there. Wow wow wow!!! Waffleton is AWESOME. My girlfriend and I visited Idyllwild this past weekend and had such a wonderful time. The hikes, the mountains, the people, the vibe and the food! It's such a great, artistic, friendly mountain town. One of our favorite spots was Waffelton. We liked it so much we went there three times! We had the loose leaf tea and home made hot coco the first time. It was so good we went back the next evening for more beverages and tried the soup. It was AMAZING... a home made recipe all the way from Spain. Finally on the third day we went and tried a sweet waffle. So so so good. If you're from Idy or spent a lot of time in this awesome small community, it's the people that set this place a part from any mountain community in so cal.
