I had a great experience here with my bf. Came without reservations for breakfast on a Saturday and we were promptly seated outside. The staff was so sweet, they took our plates promptly and checked on us throughout our meal. The live music was really nice, the only thing I didn't like was that our table was really slanted so I was worried my coffee would tip over. We had the breakfast buffet, it was $25 per person and coffee was included. Next time I definitely want to try their mimosas. The buffet had a salad bar and typical breakfast fare like scrambled eggs, french toast, hash browns and breakfast sausages. What really stood out to me were the pasteries. The strawberry cream pastry, and this little chocolate dessert they had were sooo delicious. Would definitely come back if I was in the area.

    Firefighter special: 5 stars.

Great ambience, great service, great chairs, and very good food! My partner was dying to try this place for lunch so we decided to give Tommy's Kitchen a go. Plenty of ample parking, and we managed to pull up between two parked cop motorcycles. Apparently this is the place to go for a bite as we saw locals, firemen and motorcycle cops enjoying some lunch. If you have a bench warrant out of your arrest, maybe you should go elsewhere. Haha Service: 5 stars. courteous and knowledgeable staff from the hostess to our waitress. Our waitress was attentive and efficient and accommodated our needs as we had our dog Elizabeth with us. Firefighter Special: 5 stars We arrived at 1230 and were told that they were out of burgers. (The firemen and police officers ordered the last of the burgers). This being said, I decided to order the firefighter special: Meatball sub - pork, beef and mild sausage, marinara, mozarella cheese served on a garlic bread roll. I opted for fries and salad. The meatball sub was more filling than I thought, and it was a 5 star sub. I ended up taking half of it home for lunch tomorrow. The fries were good, well seasoned but I think they could have been a tad crispier, but I won't nitpick. The side salad was very good as well. Normally Tommy's has a 'get your own' salad bar, but due to COVID precautions, you pick out the ingredients and the waitress assembles the salad in front of you. $5.00 mimosa: stick with the OJ, or no juice. I choose blackberry thinking it was fresh blackberry juice, or blackberries but it was syrup and a bit sweet for my taste. The waitress did offer a solution/replacement but I didnt' want to fuss. I would come back here anytime.

Brunch selection for me with jalapeno cheese bread.

This is the best deal in town. Food is delicious and plentiful and they keep bringing our food. Eating outside is absolutely delightful and the service is great. We got reservations at the last hour they were open so options ran low on some items but there was still plenty to chose from. The music on the patio was delightful. I just wish they had more trees or cover when it got super sunny so bring a hat just in case. Great buy for this small little town.

    Bottomless mimosas and breakfast!

Long overdue for an updated review, especially because I own the crown for the most checked in person at Tommies kitchen on Yelp. This place is incredible! After the pandemic they added live music during the weekend and it's adds such a nice touch. The patio of this restaurant is awesome, very cozy and cabin like. Their brunch is buffet style and has a salad bar, breakfast section with eggs, hash browns, etc. The pastries section is especially nice, the cannolis are one of a kind! We have been going to this place a lot since it's the best place for brunch in Idyllwild. Not only is it super affordable, the owner and waitstaff are very friendly and personable.

After a morning at the beautiful community playground we enjoyed an awesome brunch in Idyllwild at Tommy's Kitchen in Fern Valley. Tommy's had an incredible layout of eggs, scalloped potatos, smoked lox, jalapeño cheddar biscuits, jambalaya, French toast, crisp hickory maple bacon, sausage, fruit & salad bar, and more plus a table of 20+ desserts - all of the ones we tried were delicious and some of them were out of this world made better by the great coffee & tea compliment. Staff that made us feel like family & invited us to take our time and stay a while. Live music by Terry Jo's Laurel Canyon inspired playing set the mood for a perfect afternoon in the trees. The vibe doesn't get better. What a joyful afternoon.

Well worth the drive. Visiting family in the area and they wanted to go for a day trip to Idyllwild. The restaurant they had in mind was dinner service only on the day we were there so I hopped on Yelp to find something in the area and we landed at Tommy's Kitchen. We sat in a lovely pity dining area and enjoyed both wonderful food and excellent service. It might be a bit of a challenge if you have mobility issues, but it well worth the try.

    Words to live by.

Truly a fantastic place. Staff were all very friendly, helpful without being overbearing and answered questions about the menu. They seemed genuinely pleased at how much we liked it. The cream of barley soup was outstanding! Add a bit of live acoustic guitar music and a dog-friendly deck with sheepskin chair covers to take the chill off, and you've got a recipe for a perfect brunch spot!

    Bread pudding

I've never written a review but after eating there WOW from the burger to fries to the bread pudding amazing. I heavily recommend this spot. You shouldn't even decided any other place The burger was seasoned perfectly paired with the perfectly cooked patty The fries are another level perfectly seasoned and crispy Customer service was also outstanding Bread pudding was also great

Also Sunday brunch can never go wrong. Right in the heart of town along the main strip of downtown. Perfect for people watching while dining on the patio. Be advised, it does get hot but they do have both the main covered patio and street covered patio. Both with mister working the whole time. If you prefer ac, they have indoor dining as well. We like to enjoy the sun and people watching which patio is alway a good option for us. Of course we make friends with the waiter as they alway take care of us. Everyone here from the staff, waiter and waitress, and the owners are all very sweet and friendly. Menu is alway great. You have both the breakfast and brunch menu. We tend to come for them mainly but have never tried dinner here. Of course the bubbly is always a good start. A bottle with three juice options and fresh fruit for adornment. Strawberries and blueberries for the bougie bubbly effect. And for the price, it's worth it. Food wise, we went with the chicken sandwich with salad and the burger with fruit. A side of fries is definitely a must even if it comes with it. Portion for the sandwich was massive. Nice thick piece of grilled and marinaded chicken breast filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and avocados on toasted bread. It's massive even when they sliced it in halves. And the burger, two nice patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and bacon. A classic and it was delicious. I'm not a burger person but every now and then a bite is worth it. The food has alway been excellent. Crowd is alway nice and bubbly. It's cute chit chatting with the other guest nearby. Also we found out that they close for about two months in July and August as that's their holiday time. Glad we made it before it happened. It's a nice place for brunch as it's alway our go to whenever we can't figure out something.

Thank goodness for Restaurants Week. Same concept as Dine LA, and Dine OC. It gives you a chance to…read moresamples different restaurants with meal deals for lunch and dinner. Places you probably wouldn't have visit but the deals are too good to pass on. We've seen this place loads of time driving by and always wanted to try it out. It happen to be included in Restaurant Weeks so of course that was a given. There have parking out front so that's very helpful. I made a reservation for the patio at 7:15 thinking it'll be nice for the sunset but of course it was 103 still outside...lol... We were going to see if they could move us to indoor but when we checked in, the hostess was ahead of us. She knew it was going to be too hot for patio seating which was amazing of her. When you walk in, there's the hostess desk as well as a cute little lobby waiting area. Across from that is the wine cellar and around the corner was the bar lounge area. We didn't even know it was there until after dinner. It was massive. The restaurant is broken down into different rooms. We got seating in the main room where it's more of the MCM vibe with the high back booth seating. There's also a little private room to the side next to the restroom. The layout was quite beautiful and it was well decorated. There was also another room a step above us and and also the patio. The setting of the table was beautiful, elegantly dressed with an over side white table cloth. Only downfall, the booth was a bit too straight up. If you don't have good posture, you do now...lol... David was our waiter who was excellent and amazing. Very friendly and polite. Also so welcoming. As it was restaurant week, menus came out both with their daily as well as the deals. Classic menu does look quite nice but can't beat a good three course meal. That was offered for 49.00 three course, starters mains and dessert. Started off with a glass of wine before hand which a few was had throughout dinner. Service was excellent throughout the whole experience. One of the servers came over to place our napkins on our laps before. Also a warm roll with butter was brought out to start. Dinner, the options were great on the deals. We both started off with the Scottish salmon sashimi. Delicious thin slice served with seaweed salad, blood orange, scallions, Thai chili in a blood orange glaze. That was excellent and very tasty. Entrees, an order of the flank steak cooked nicely. Citrus marinated flank steak with shoestring fries, grilled baby broccolini and a creamy peppercorn sauce. This dish was flavorful and went well together. Steak was cooked well and the sauce was great. Also the beef stroganoff. Thin sliced seasoned sautéed beef served with mushrooms, onions, thyme, sweet cream and sour cream served over herbed butter noodles. I haven't had stroganoff in such a long time and this dish was very tasty and delicious. Sauce was great which sometimes I think it can be too salty but this place was great. Lastly the dessert, one was the vanilla creme brûlée. Classic Madagascar vanilla bourbon and berries. The other, strawberry Napoleon. Layered of flaky puff pastries, velvet pastry cream and fresh strawberries. Both looked amazing and very tasty. I didn't have any as I was off the sweets but let me say it went down well. The food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. The whole vibe was your classic Palm Springs dining. Service was amazing from the start with hostess to the end of dinner. The staffs were all amazing and very friendly. David was a major doll throughout our meal. He even mentioned happy hour which is next. Everything was excellent and we would definitely be back.

We were seated in the back of the restaurant, closer to the kitchen, which I don't think is nearly as nice as the front. It's not unpleasant, just not as nice. I was annoyed when the next table got their cocktail order in before us because they were seated after us. We got a different server, who took a while. The host had only provided a cocktail and wine list, so we weren't able to use that time to figure out dinner. Eventually the server came by. He knew his stuff, and went through everything we needed to know, but it was also clear that he was flat out. He asked if we wanted water, but then forgot and when we prompted him, one came with ice even though our guest requested no ice. Inital round of cocktails was on point, though no extra olives as requested by one. Not a huge deal. Drinks were excellent. Bread service and the beet salad were also quite good. I got the swordfish special. Swordfish is not my favorite fish, but the prep (pineapple black bean chutney) enticed me and it was very good. Another got the caper-lemon schnitzel. Another got the chicken curry. The curry was not as good as hoped; I think it was a little thin. No complaints on the schnitzel. Dessert and coffee were offered but we were full.

This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

The service was great and friendly, and willing to seat us even an hour before closing their lunch hours and giving us lots of time and patience and never let our waters get low either! Their coffee is french press, and they offer fresh pressed juices too. They brought the french press pot to the table so you could press and refill your own cup as needed. We got grapefruit & watermelon, and both were refreshing and cooling. We ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast croissant, the breakfast sandwich, and the salmon crepe. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I found the salmon crepe to be really delicious, served with a jammy egg, a generously sized portion of salmon on a bed of spinach with some creme fraiche all wrapped in a delicious crepe wrap. I've never had anything quite like it. Also major compliments to the simple but refreshing side salad that came with each of our breakfasts, but we were also given the option of potatoes or mixed berries. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area looking for a good spot to have brunch.

Which they normally alway have one. And it was Father's Day so we expected it to be quite busy. There was one person in-front of me when checking in with the hostess. It was going to be about half an hour for a table under first available. They take your number and text you when your table is ready with a 10 min grace period to get back. It did table about half hour till we received the text. This visit, we got seated inside which was a first for us. Majority of the restaurant is outside with covered umbrellas and small sections in the inside area with different rooms. Our waitress was quite sweet but didn't remember her name. Menu is pretty much same as I remember from last time. Of course the Bloody Mary is always a must here. Started off with that. Food wise, the andouille sausage omelette served with potatoes or a salad and avocado. That also comes with a side of baguette. And the baked brie platter which is a shared starter. But works also a meal if needed. A nice hefty portion of baked Brie with hazelnuts, both ciabatta bread and Asian pear as well as date jam. And a side order of bagel and cream cheese. Food was good. We've only been for brunch and each visit was great. Dinner is a prix fix menu which we have never been. Service was great and the staffs were all very friendly. Water was constantly filled when it was emptied. Until next time.
