I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Cafe Aroma. We started off with DELICIOUS cocktails (shout out to the Tahquiz mojito) followed by complimentary warm bread and oil. I had the tortellini which was divine and then the flourless chocolate torte cake and a grasshopper martini for dessert. We sat at the bar and the bartender was absolutely perfect a brilliantly attentive and yet left us alone. He made stellar drinks, stellar suggestions, and really made our night special. Parking was easy, ambiance was cozy and romantic, and food was 10/10. No notes!

Cafe Aroma is one of the best restaurants to dine at in Idyllwild. I visit this town often and always make it a point to come here. The vibe leans rustic-chic with a romantic, European café feel with dim lighting, greenery all around, and a cozy ambiance that feels intimate without being stuffy. They also have a very extensive (and pricey) wine menu, which my bf definitely appreciates. For this visit, we had Kendall as our server, who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the following: Blue Mussels - Very tasty! The yellow curry sauce was super flavorful and of course the ciabatta was perfect for soaking up all that goodness. Duck a l'Orange - My bf's order. He said he liked it even though it wasn't very traditional. Typically, it's served as duck breast with crispy skin, but here it was on the bone and the skin wasn't crispy. Still tasted good overall he gave it a 4/5. Creamy Pesto Penne - My order. I'm not usually a pasta person, but this dish was vibrant, rich, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. It came with three nicely grilled jumbo shrimp and had that perfect balance of creamy and herbaceous. I'm still butt hurt about it because I only had a few bites with every intention of boxing it up for later but my bf left the box on the table. Ugh!!! Chocolate Torte - It was just okay. Per my bf, not too memorable. Cafe Aroma remains one of Idyllwild's most popular restaurants known for its cozy wooded patio, gallery like indoor space, and its long standing connection to the local arts scene.

My favorite spot in Idy! They made my birthday so special. The food was incredible. Definitely recommend the Caesar, the Filet Jacob and the Tiramisu for dessert. The bread and garlic oil they start you off with is so yummy. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Impressive wine selection. Loved the Aperture Bordeaux blend, pairs nicely with steak. Thank you for a beautiful dinner experience! Can't wait to come back. Only downside is it did take awhile for our food and dessert to come out. But well worth the wait. Ambiance is magical.

It's the day after Valentine's Day and I made reservations to take my +1 to Cafe Aroma. In the evening the interior was lit up with warm glowing lights and chandelier of what looked like elk horns. A warm fire our drink order and comfy tables strewn about gave the place a local homey feel. We were seated quickly upon entering and the server was quick to take our drink orders and review the menu. The server was very friendly and described every detail of the dishes we were considering. He recommended the Valentine's special which was a lobster and crab pasta dish with a vanilla bean white sauce. It sounded remarkable so I ordered it. The server brought out bread and our meals came out to the table after a short wait. The bowl of pasta was a good helpings of pasta with big hunks of lobster and crab. The dish was delicious with its white sauce with a hint of the vanilla. It was a sauce I had never experienced before and I'm glad that I decided to try something new. With a comfy upscale vibe, Cafe Aroma is the perfect place to try when you want something different.

We came here to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary; it couldn't have been more perfect. It was beautiful, cozy, music in the background, wonderful customer service and the food delicious. I only got a picture of my plate but both were delicious. The hubby had the fettuccini Alfredo and stated it was creamy like he likes it. We had a great time and enjoyed the music and the atmosphere so much that we really wish we had this closer! But I guess it being up in the mountains is what makes it so special.

    Incredible Lightness dish.

We dined here 3 times while we were on a long vacation in the area. Its consistently the best food in or near Idyllwild. They have the service, the menu, and the food quality down. I had the Incredible Lightness one night. It had an amazing leafy green salad with fresh made cilantro dressing, moist grilled chicken, and delicately charred asparagus. My son had the Argentinian steak, it was tender and delicious and my wife enjoyed the seafood pasta. One night the Chef made a special key lime pie that was to die for.

Had my birthday dinner here with my husband and let me say it was wonderful! The food was absolutely phenomenal and the service was on point. Ambiance was fabulous too. We will be back on our next trip to Idyllwild.

A Hidden Gem in Idyllwild - A Romantic Escape Cafe Aroma is truly a treasure nestled in the heart of Idyllwild. The ambiance is beautiful, serene, and romantic--perfect for a quiet escape. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and relaxed. Stephen, our waiter, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. The menu offered so many tempting options, it was honestly hard to choose! I went with the Cacio E Pepe, while my husband ordered the chef's special, the Kurobuta pork. We also shared the escargot, Caesar salad, and tiramisu. Every single dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely exquisite. You could truly taste the love in every bite. Presentation was photo worthy as well. We took our time, enjoying each course from 7 to 9 PM on a Saturday evening, and never once felt rushed. I had made a reservation (thankfully, since it was quite busy), and we were seated outdoors where the lighting and atmosphere were just dreamy. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but completely justified by the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Highly recommend for a special night out!

Great food and vibes and Aroma. We had 4 adults and two babies and they sat us in the middle of the beautiful dining room, but we asked for somewhere more private in case babies cried and Aroma was very accommodating and gave us the private room. Food was excellent with a lot of French options, including escargot. Soup of the day was clam chowder, and we also had the clams and trout. Pastas were very good although I could've gone more al dente. The Star of the show was the duck, which wasn't the typical sliced duck breast entree at other restaurants. They give the whole leg/thigh piece, tender with crispy skin, and it came with carrots and potatoes. For dessert we had the NY cheesecake and the creme brûlée, both delicious. Service was great and they were very nice about our two little ones and made sure we were settled throughout the night. We will have to come back to try the other foods and dine in their main or outdoor patio area.

This is probably the best meal/dinning experience I've ever had while living in California the past 4 years and I love that it's hidden away in the mountains. The staff are warm. The food is amazing. The ambiance is perfect. The entire restaurant is like a warm hug. They are all about gathering with friends and eating great food and that's exactly what they deliver. I'll be coming back again and again

A friend recommended this spot, so we made reservations for our last night in town--and it turned out to be the perfect choice. I was a little hesitant when I heard there would be live music, worried it might be too loud for conversation, but it was just right. We sat inside, around the corner from the musician, and the sound created a lovely atmosphere without being overwhelming. The service was outstanding. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely engaging, making us feel well cared for throughout the evening. The food was excellent--beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The trout was a standout, cooked to perfection and paired with just the right accompaniments, truly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I tried a vegan dish that was flavorful with a nice kick of spice; it leaned a little on the simple side, but still very enjoyable. The setting itself is incredibly charming--romantic and rustic, tucked away in the woods of Idyllwild. It felt like a hidden gem and made for a wonderful, memorable evening.

Decided to celebrate my birthday here and I have no regrets at all! The customer service was the best! That day they had a chef from New Orleans making jambalaya and I knew I had to have it. He was so busy but the plate was simply delicious!!! Definitely recommend any time you are in Idyllwild, this place is a must

Came to Idylwild for a bachelorette and was recommended this place and it was so good! We made a reservation for 5 and we were running a little late and they were very accommodating! The service was amazing as they put us in a separate room and they were extremely friendly! I was shocked at how good their Italian food was! And the cocktails had something for everyone from gin, tequila, vodka, etc. Highly recommmebd for good Italian food and cocktails if you are in the area!

We will not be having live music on Easter Sunday. We will be having it on Saturday instead.

Do you still not have live music? Not a priority? That is sad, because that is half the reason we would love to come to Idyllwild was for the stellar music at Cafe Aroma. If you DO have live music this weekend, please list times and artists please!

Care Aroma started live music again last weekend! There's a schedule posted on their instagram and Facebook pages.

Since we didn't have reservations, we were seated at the bar, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Our bartender and server, I believe her name was Katie, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of glasses of wine and the Insalata Burrata with heirloom tomatoes, fresh burrata, basil, olive oil, prosecco vinegar, local microgreens, Maldon salt, and freshly ground black pepper. It was incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and the perfect way to begin the meal. For our entrées, we ordered the Lasagne di Verdure with seasonal vegetables, house-made ricotta, mozzarella, marinara, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The house-made ricotta was absolutely incredible and elevated the entire dish, making it an easy favorite. We also shared the Salame e Funghi pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The thin, wood-fired crust had the perfect texture, and the pizza easily rivaled--if not surpassed--many restaurants that specialize in pizza. To finish the evening, we couldn't pass on the Torta di Nocciole, a flourless hazelnut cake served with vanilla gelato, a drizzle of local raw honey, and freshly grated nutmeg. It was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal--rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. From the exceptional service to the thoughtfully prepared food, every part of our visit exceeded our expectations. We only wish there were a location closer to home. We'll definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you for an unforgettable meal and outstanding hospitality!

There was something going on that day when we walked in. They had the back area set up for a live bad and food. I don't know how often this happens, maybe during the weekend. So outside seating wasn't very tempting at the time. Inside, it's the winery which is pretty massive. Mainly their tasting room with the bar counter and loads of seating. Communal tables as well as group tables throughout the property. There's also a second floor which we didn't go up this time. Inside is also a showroom of artworks and trinkets. Different artists showcasing their work, handmade jewelry laid out through the whole place. Displayed items one after the other. This place was happening today with so many people popping in for some wine. I don't know if the event with the band happens often or just during the weekend but it was great. We ended up just staying inside as it was nice and cool. Picked up a bottle of the Tempranillo and made ourselves at home. The wine is quite tasty and nice. You can do a tasting which I believe is three samples. Or if you just wanted a glass that's also offered but we opted for a bottle. Snacks are also available for purchase if you would a charcuterie boards to accompany your tasting. It's very pet friendly as there were so many pups around. They too like to enjoy the party. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Chatting with the people walking in and sitting next to you. It's a good way to make new friends. The place was lively and everyone was there for the same thing. Good company, great wine and a fun afternoon out. With the artwork and all the items display, I don't know if they're there permanently or on rotate seasonally. But walking throughout and seeing everything on display, it was great. From the moment we walked into Fugghedabout, we were stunned. The space is dark, sultry, lightly dimmed, and incredibly chic, something you'd never expect here. It has a very grown up, intimate vibe (21+ only), perfect for date night or a night out with friends. We were lucky enough to visit on a night with live music (they have it Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), and it completely set the mood. Even though it wasn't very busy, the energy was wonderful and the music was excellent. Service was top notch. Meghan was fantastic, friendly, attentive, accommodating, and so helpful throughout the meal. Faith, the owner, also stopped by several times to check on us, which earned major points. Such a sweet touch and much appreciated. Now the food... wow. We started with the seared scallop special topped with caviar, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, with the caviar adding just the right touch of saltiness. Honestly, we wanted to order more. The hot goat cheese with hot honey appetizer was delicious and so comforting. Definitely get extra bread, you'll want it. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp. The steak and shrimp were standouts. The chicken was slightly dry, but overall we really enjoyed them. And the biggest surprise of the night was the shrimp and sausage skillet. Absolutely incredible. So flavorful and rich, and again we needed more bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. We also ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, which was good. The sugar topping was slightly thick, and I'll admit I'm a bit of a dessert snob, so while we enjoyed it, the meal itself was really the shining star of the night. I'm already dreaming about my next visit. I was genuinely impressed by everything, service, ambiance, food, and live music. This place is a whole vibe. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing food in a sultry, intimate setting. I've already recommended it to several friends. Thank you Meghan and Faith for such a great night. We'll definitely be back!

Looking forward to enjoying their live entertainment and themed events in the future, at which time I will follow up on this review. Thank you, Faith, Megan & Orquedea for a wonderful time.--
