I really enjoyed this wine bar! The girl at the counter who took our order was super sweet and helpful. The vibes inside are great for both small or large groups - but definitely more of a lounge style which I loved! They had quite a few couches & seating areas. I got the sangria flight, which was a little sweet for my liking, but they had a good variety of drinks on their menu (including some wine slushies). There is some outdoor seating but definitely wander inside. Browse the decor, souvenirs and custom made jewelry. Plenty of seating; choose between high tops, the bar or comfy couches where you can truly decompress and enjoy your visit. All of the staff sincerely treat you like family. The vibe is unparalleled in the best way possible. Excellent selection of beer, seltzers and wine. Thereafter, Chef Jesse is an exceptional star here. The menu is small but so very delicious! We devoured our chicken/brie sandwiches and boneless wings. He was also a sweetheart to bring a cheese snack for our pup. Super dog friendly; they're allowed inside the establishment!! We actually went twice during our trip to Big Bear since we enjoyed ourselves so much. We also lucked into Bingo night and it's a blast. Lots of laughter, fun and prizes you want to win. Fantastic wine bar with a nice selection of beer. We came for a light dinner with our three dogs and had our choice of seating both inside and on their back patio. Fantastic selection of California wines that you can buy by the glass or as a whole bottle to take home. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their food and drinks. Very relaxed but nice atmosphere. Highly recommend for a lighter meal or for a couple of drinks and snacks. The food is decent, but nothing special. We got the cauliflower, giant pretzel, sweet potato fries, and a mushroom flatbread and bbq chicken flatbread. What a beautiful and cozy bar in downtown Big Bear! The vibes and atmosphere were super chill and relaxing. I really enjoyed the delicious Sangria wine tasting. My favorite was the Tinto Red Sangria. We also enjoyed the Pasmosa blanco sangria and the Rosado white. The staff was incredibly attentive and very friendly. Popped in on a Saturday night for a quick bite and this was such a cute spot! We're from out of town but it feels like a place where everyone knows everyone else and feels really welcoming. Were were greeted with a big smile and super friendly service as soon as we walked in, and as someone who takes a minute to decide what I want, didn't feel rushed to order at all. Huckleberry seltzer was lightly carbonated slightly tart, the perfect amount of just sweet enough without being too much, and so good. Charcuterie had a good mix of cheeses, two meats, mixed nuts and peppers, and the salt on the sweet potato fries was stellar. I saw this place when we arrived to big bear walking by. Stopped in Monday around noon for a little cold refresher. This place is quite nice and really roomy when you're inside. From the outside, just looks like a tasting room but once you walk inside, it's not just a tasting room. They also serve food which we didn't know. The bar counter is right when you walk in. There's loads of seating on both side. There's also a patio area in the back with more covered table seating as well as corn hole game. We sat outside in front which was perfect for people watching as it's on the main strip. They offer wine and beer tastings. As well as loads of inventory on wine that were on display. And by that, there were loads. We had a couple pint of beers which were great. They offer both on tap and bootle. Also had a frose machine which really looked amazing. The beer was quite nice and not to hoppy which we liked. Whoever was in charge of the music today, it was great. Service was great. The place was nice and beer was perfect for a nice sunny day. read more

My husband and I stopped in at Barrel 33 on a Wednesday evening to enjoy some wine on the patio. I was interested in trying some of the local High Altitude wines as well as various wines from around CA. When we entered, there were a few patrons in the main tasting room. We were greeted, given menus and decided to walk to the patio. We were with our dog, and noted that the entire area, inside and out was dog friendly which was very nice. There were also some other very friendly dogs there. On the way to the patio, we walked through the bottle shop, which had tons of interesting bottles, and lots of cute souvenir items. We had the entire patio to ourselves. We studied the menu to find that they had so many interesting wines from around CA that are pretty hard to find outside of the specific wineries. For our first round, we both had whites (Viognier and Pinot Grigio) from Sculptera, one of our favorite Paso Robles wineries. For the second round, I tasted some of the High Altitude reds. The server was nice about letting me taste a few different wines before deciding on my next glass. I really enjoyed the Tempranillo. Service was great. They turned the music on in back just for us. I will say that the food was good, but not great. It is definitely nice to have a light menu, as we were pretty hungry. We had the cauliflower bites and the BBQ chicken flatbread. We enjoyed them, but I wouldn't make a trip to Barrel 33 for the food. I would come for the wine and atmosphere. read more

What a beautiful place. The ambience and the atmosphere is all very high-end and rustic. Some beautiful items for sale like quality candles, shirts, some humorous sayings on their beer cans, rustic jewelry, Huckleberry jelly, etc. Bill took great care of us. I had a flight of wine and let him choose my tastings and they were lovely. He even treated me to an extra tasting because I wasn't sure I'd like the one with less tannins's. Very knowledgeable. And also a lot of wine for sale. Then we ordered the cauliflower bites with the buffalo sauce and it was cooked perfectly. Nice thin coating of batter and they baked it so it was nice and crunchy and healthier than the fried version. Some fun seating so you can look out the window and enjoy some people watching. It's hard to find a place that can offer excellent selections of both wine and beer, but this place fits the bill to a T! I enjoyed a hazy IPA and a West Coast IPA, both delicious! Also tasted a wine flight that I found pretty darn good considering I'm not a wine guy. Nice refined atmosphere to enjoy sipping our beverages and snacking on the cauliflower bites we ordered. Food was prepared very well and had a generous portion of side vegetables to keep it on the healthy side. While walking around the village in Big Bear Lake, we came across this wine tasting room and restaurant. I had been searching for a new wine decanter and I found one here. It is a very unique one but allows the wine to really open up and breathe due to its circular design. This place offers wine, beer and cider tasting, tasty food that comes from fresh, local ingredients, wines from regional vendors and a curated retail shop. It is family owned and has been open since 2017. Although we did not stay to wine taste or eat I do intend to come back as all the food looked very savory and delicious. There is a lovely patio out back for warm weather dining and wine tasting. Staff were helpful and efficient at check out and I really have enjoyed my new wine decanter. They were definitely busy the night we stopped in, but the bartender and the "waiter" (I'm using that term for the kind gentleman who brought our food to our couches, but I don't think that's the right word for him) were helpful, friendly and welcoming. They did let us bring the pups inside, which I really appreciated, and the "waiter" took the time to give them attention, too, always a bonus in my book. Our night started with a pour of the Oso Libre Grande, as recommended by the bartender, who dissuaded the hubs from getting the Oso Libre Carnal. The wine was fruity and a bit dry, the perfect pour to get our night going. Once we settled inside, at a corner next to a raucous party of revelers, we decided to order some of their small bites. The Simple Salad was $15.50, which I thought was expensive given it's literally just arugula leaves, cucumbers, tomatoes and balsamic glaze, but it was a huge serving, which we were able to share. I also ordered a cup of the soup of the day ($6.50), which was tomato basil and which was delightful! My husband got the Prosciutto Flatbread ($17) and helped me finish the massive salad. While we waited for our plates, we each got a flight of the red, which the bartender picked for us. The wines were very good, and we set about sipping and supping...only to be told that they were closing up soon and we had to pack up, at 9 pm on a Saturday night. It's our fault for not checking the hours on the site before we walked over, but it surprised us to see them closing up when both sides of the dining room were still full of boisterous people. read more
