Servers add to the french feel as well as the decor and menu. There is something for everyone. There are many merchandise items that fit into the French theme. I bought a nice useful cloth bowl for the memory. There are a number of good cooking and kitchen knife sets for sale well. Our group of five had delicious meals in Friday night. I had the prefixed meal for $39.95, which includes a glass of wine or soup, and choice of entree. The French onion soup was delicious. The entrées included vegetable starch and protein. I ordered the sole meuniere (spelling?). You could order either meuniere or piccata style. It was cooked perfectly and was also slightly crispy at the same time. It was outstanding. My mother ordered piccata and she loved it. It was served with au gratin potatoes and perfectly cooked vegetables. I've eaten here six times over the last few months and I've even altered my usual shopping route to eat here. The third time I ate there I had a Duck Maigret Salad that was just out of this world. Then I followed up with a vanilla custard filled tart and a cup of coffee. Wow, everything was just superb. To avoid unneeded carbs, I switched to salads and just had the Duck Maigret Salad with the usual tart and coffee. We eat out a great deal and, no matter the price point, the food here is the equal of any restaurant. The service was unhurried, we had coffee refills and I lingered over the custard tart, loathe to finish it. I was stunned over the comment that said there was a $15 'fee' added. There is a fee for credit card usage that offsets the transaction charge that the cc company makes. My fee for a lunch was $1.50. There is some mistake being made somewhere. read more

Maybe we came at a bad time today but there were tables and not yet ready for new guests. We sat and waited and someone brought us water. A lady across the room shouted "I was here before them". She ordered we ordered and again we waited. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich. A favorite of my childhood and again now that I found this place. Very good. My friend had the Cordon Bleu and it was good. (Much better than OK or just fine. We finished and again waited for the check. It seems like they only have two servers and a busser. The French Corner Cafe reminds me of one of the cafe's that I frequented while in Paris. The lovely decor, the aroma of fresh baked croissant, the cooked to perfection macarons, and the crepe maison, ooh lala! I had the egg white omelette with spinach and mushroom along with sliced tomatoes and fresh fruit. It was cooked to perfection and filled with spinach. Magnifique! Funny, friends of ours had said they had been there several time and the cafe employees were not so kind; we had the complete opposite experience. We came here for a late lunch after a walk. I had the seafood omelette and my aunt had the ratatouille crepe. My omelette was good but the side salad looked like it had seen better days. Aunt said the crepe did not taste fresh, as if it was microwaved. She said this was the second time something she ordered tasted this way. We took some pastries home that were good. Stopped in for lunch, and had a nice experience. Breakfast is served from 8am until 11am (Noon on Sunday), then they switch to the lunch menu until 4:30pm. Not open for dinner. They have indoor and patio dining areas, and the parking is plentiful. FOOD: We ordered the Breakfast Croissant with fruit, the Cordon Bleu Sandwich with fries, and the Duck Sandwich with salad. The croissant was very good. The sandwiches were served on a French baguette, which was a nice change from the last sandwich I had here. They were decent, but we felt that both could have used a little more butter, mayo, horseradish, or some other spread. The service is good, so you just have to ask for something, and it's no problem getting it quickly. BAKERY: One of the main reasons we visit is to pick up wonderful items from their bakery. The pastries and desserts are not only visually beautiful, but they're also C'est très magnifique! They also have a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch items, from fresh salads to sweet crepes. Everything is very modestly sized, just for reference, but so good! The staff is also so lovely! Including the owner and the waitresses, everyone always recognizes us and is very sweet. The inside is quite cozy, but it adds to the authentic feel of the food. Hence, the minus 1 star. But the other people were extremely welcoming and nice. We ordered crepes, omlette and French onion soup. The soup wasn't salty at all which is great. The sweet potato fries were the best we had. The omlette and herbacious roasted potatoes were one of the best I've had. The almond croissant is what they're known for which I was told by the taller lady in the black shirt. She was amazing and helpful. The canele was rubbery and tasted old. I visited the French corner Cafe for breakfast today (Sunday morning) it was very crowded. While I really enjoyed the food--honestly, it was excellent--the service was almost non-existent. I had to track down the waiter myself, and I even had to call someone over just to get any help. Nobody came by to offer coffee or water, which was disappointing. The hostess, unfortunately, was extremely rude, which left a bad first impression. While the food deserves recognition (hence my three-star rating), the service was a zero. I hope management reads this and takes steps to improve because customer service is just as important as the food. I'll have to think twice before returning. read more

Was in town and came here for breakfast and was not disappointed. But we did have to wait for a table on a Friday morning at 10:00am which was surprising but it's a small cafe inside. The menu is great with so many options and great authentic French food options! I got simple scrambled eggs with French fries and got the hot chocolate. The food came fast and taste so fresh and delicious! The hot chocolate was so good! Afterwards got a croissant to go and was so good too! They have a little bakery area to get macaroons and pastries. Best Croissants! I've been on a hunt for the best croissants. I've visited many top bakeries in San Francisco, Santa Barbara and LA. You can imagine how many croissants I've eaten! Sometimes even trying it more than once to make sure I've given it a fair try. I've narrowed it down to the top 3. They're all great and the best croissant comes down to preference: buttery flavor, crunch, and lightness (not dense). French Corner Bakery meets all three! If I had to give one picky critique (because there's always room for improvement), it might be on the slightly greasy but it's also so hot in Palm Spring so my fault for taking it to go. You won't find a croissant this good! I came here 2 days in a row and plan on coming back tomorrow for more croissants! Short story: I actually came here 10 years ago and remembered how amazing their croissants were. I since haven't found anything like it. The restaurant/bakery has now been passed down to his brother and I'm so glad the croissants are still the best! His brother has a bakery now in Los Gatos called Fleur de Cocoa. Not sure if this 'fee' to use a credit card is new, but certainly ill advised. On a $29.00 check, the 'fee' was $8.98 which is around a 30% fee. There was no notice we could find there was a fee until the check came, nor what the fee was. We were expecting maybe a 3-4% amount to cover bank swipe fees, but 30%? Have not run into this anywhere else in town. The food was good, but not exceptional. This certainly ruled out any return visit since not a habit to carry around much cash any longer. Lots of great restaurants in the valley that do not have this kind of 'policy'. Should make it clear before ordering so you have the option to leave and go elsewhere. read more
