The only thing problem that I had was when I asked for ranch I was charged for ranch and I spent over $50 here and I noticed that other customers were not charged for rent so I gotta give you guys a three out of five I was gonna give you guys a five cause the food was amazing but then the whole ranch thing just the way the economy is going right now. We moved to Sun City Palm Desert 4 months ago so my husband could receive after-stroke treatment at Eisenhower and we are getting to know the local Palm Desert area. We loved checking out off-Strip food places which were great and spread all over town. In getting to know Palm Desert we are lucky to have met some people who know good spots to go for any generation. Now that our medical appointments have calmed down a bit and we can check the small unassuming yet satisfying establishments, I had a plan to get a lunch delivered for my friend who was recently out of the hospital. She has lived here a while and suggested Goody's. We drive past this location on Washington just about every day, so I have been wondering and waiting to try it. A call to the restaurant confirmed some preferences she has would be possible as substitutions for her diet. I drove over (we live less than two miles out) and because it was Super Bowl Sunday it was peaceful with several people ordering food when I was. Decor is really cute and clean. Lydia at the front was really super helpful. We ordered breakfast for lunch which is always fun. I had the spinach and artichoke omelet with a side order of zucchinis. My friend ordered the vegetable and cheese omelet with substitution of tomato slices for hash browns. Those tomato slices were so fresh and both omelets are each size of two whole meals. I was so happy to see the big chunks of artichoke and spinach. There is just enough tasty cheese and it was cooked perfectly. Seasoning is good. My friend ordered her toast without butter and the instructions were followed well. Everything comes labeled so you can see which toast is yours. I had a strawberry shake as well. The entire bill was $40 and change. In my experience the portion, when it is generous, gets split in half for the next day. This was that kind of portion. I am a big girl and would have chowed down on the whole thing except for the fact that half way through I was totally satisfied. Now I know why Goody's is so popular around here because the menu is extensive, food is cooked fresh for you and it is delicious for a reasonable price. Will I be able to drive on by when we are on Washington in the future? Probably not. Always in search of a great place with super people, we will be back to try it all. read more

I have been coming to Goody's for many years, for breakfast and lunch, and it still tastes just as good as it always has. You order at the counter and they either bring the food to you or you do to go. It's especially busy during breakfast hours, but lunch is just as good. I have tried many different breakfast options, but consistently go back to their BLT with avocado. The pricing is extremely fair and it's great to get a good deal on quality food. There is a large free parking lot attached to the mall it's located in so parking is really quick and easy. Goody's is known for their giant menu, so there are endless options to choose from. They serve breakfast all day as well which is a seriously great option. Everyone at the counter was very polite during my most recent visit the day after Christmas. Everything came out pretty quickly, even though there was a lot of others waiting for their food as well. As mentioned this time I chose the BLT with avocado and a side of chili cheese fries. The BLT is really good, very fairly priced, and full of crispy bacon. The chili cheese fries are enormous and delicious and will not leave you hungry. I plan to be back to try many more items, It's just great to have a solid to go option in the area. read more

Our next stop on our road trip was this cafe a short distance from I-10. All you can see from the freeway are fast food restaurants, so it helps to know where to look for more. It helps to be on Yelp. Goody's is a small chain of four cafes in the desert. This one has too small of a parking lot for the amount of seating that it has. When temps get over 100 - a typical occurrence in the Palm Springs area - this could get awfully inconvenient. Outdoor, shaded seating is available, but do you really want to do that when it's not winter? Goody's Cafe looks '80s, plays pop music from the '50s ("I had lunch with Frank Sinatra" - the Hunny), and has prices from the '00s. Good place to go during your lunch break, after church, or driving to/from Phoenix. If you went to Coachella, you may prefer something grungier. Food? A LOT of it. You get more for your money at Goody's. My $8 ham sub was 12 inches before they cut it in half. And these are 1/4-inch ham slices, not paper-thin deli slices. Like Jimmy John's, they did not put a lot of stuff on the sammy, it tastes better simple. The portion of fries is yuge, so I had to put most into a to-go container. So did the girl, with her bacon sourdough burger. All of us were talking about how good our food was. It's so easy to fall back on big-chain fast food. They do a great job at getting the food to you quickly. That being said they need to turn tables, alot of working crowd. But i love their food but its not Michelin star material. It's like Denny's but a little better your standard café food. My fav kind. I got the chicken melt combo and it was 20.36 and this definitely is more of a casual sit down, nothing fancy so 20$ blew my mind because it raised in price a lot. They also charge 65 cents for each sauce and the workers are rude. I've been coming for years and it's gone up and service has gone down. The poor service and the charging for every extra thing such as sauce is something to make me not return.
