    The Big Gorger ..

Hey guys, The Big Gorger here, after a fun long weekend of partying hard in the desert at Coachella Music Festival, we decided to stop and grab a bite to eat before our way out. Waited for 30 minutes on a waitlist before we got sat down but trust me it was WELL worth it. Was a bit hungry so Ms Gorger and I decided to live on the edge and order three entrees instead of two. I personally have never had short rib eggs benedict so I wanted to dabble in a new food item today and holy guacamole, was that a great decision. Every single bite was so tasteful and flavor packed. It was just the perfect amount of everything. From the egg, the bread, the short rib, the hash browns, just a mouthful of wonderfulness. Now that is what I call Gorging! I also have never had Chilaquiles before so wanted to give this a go too and wow. This dish was just amazing. Everything was just spot on. The Ms Gorger had this amazing banana French toast that was so sweet and flavorful. Everything just so enjoyable, so delightful. Super happy with our experience visiting Wilma and Frieda's Cafe. Great job to the staff and cooks for keeping this place on a good flow despite how busy it was. Best, TBG (The Big Gorger)

We had such a great time here! While visiting on vacation, we stumbled across this spot thanks to Yelp and I'm so glad we did. It was absolutely jumping for Saturday brunch. We waited about 30 to 40 minutes, but it was well worth it and there wasn't an empty seat in the house, which is always a good sign. Our table ordered a little bit of everything, but my favorites were the spiked chai, the churro waffle (my first and now I'm hooked), plus a side of fruit and bacon. Let me tell you, the bacon was SO good. Thick cut, slightly sweet, almost candied but not overly so, just perfect. One surprise was that there isn't a bar, which I didn't expect for such a lively brunch spot, but honestly it didn't take away from the experience at all. The staff and service were phenomenal, friendly, attentive, and kept the energy going despite how busy it was. This place is definitely a must try if you're in the area!

Popped in here around 11:00 AM for brunch and got the last 4 top inside. Big standout was all the staff were on top of it, accommodating and friendly. I do wish they offered a kid's menu, but my kids split the French toast and it was a good sized portion. They just had a hard time agreeing on one dish. I got the short rib Benedict which was amazing. My hubby got chilaquiles and it was also really tasty. Decor was good, vibe was a little loud and the there was only 1 bathroom-toilet for both men/women. On top of it the bathroom didn't lock which made an awkward situation happen.

Cute little cafe on the second floor of the El paseo shops. Very hearty breakfast large servings. Plenty of food to share. Service is prompt and friendly. Beautiful patio overlooking the gardens below

Yes the biscuits are worth coming for!

Our friend said we need to go for the biscuits and we loved them. The 6 of us ordered a variety - am omelette, a salad with strawberries, a couple scrambles and a waffle. Everything es delicious, definitely the biscuits!

Love this place! I've been here multiple times. The breakfast is always fresh and delicious. The service is great too. There is always a wait to get in, but they are very efficient at getting people in and out, so it's never really a problem. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area!

I heard this place was a great breakfast spot, however it was lunchtime when I arrived, so I ordered their burger. They noted the burger patty was made with ground chuck and short rib meat and I was eager to give it a try. Because the patty is on the larger side, I was told it would take about 20 minutes to cook. We weren't in a hurry so that was fine with us. The burger arrived and looked very juicy, but the taste was underwhelming. It lacked flavor and the meat was not as tender as I imagined it would be. This location is in an outside mall with indoor and outdoor seating. The servers were very kind and attentive. I would like to come back and try their breakfast as some of the other guests had breakfast platters that looked really good.

I am so bummed. I have had this place bookmarked for years. I was beyond excited to finally try it. I fell for the pictures of the homemade pop tarts! We got 2 to try. One was mixed berry and one blueberry. There were 5 of us. We all agreed that they were just "meh". It was too doughy in the center. I ordered the blackberry custard French toast. It was definitely bread pudding and not French toast at all. My friend and sisters breakfast potatoes arrived cold. I ordered mine extra crispy, he said we can't guarantee extra crispy! Wtf? I've never heard that before. They came extremely undercooked by at least mine were warm. My mom's waffle was also served cold with hard as a rock cold butter. The ambiance is very country chic. Do not fall for the hype!

This may be the best breakfast I've ever had??? We went shortly after opening and had a very short wait but I can tell this place gets busy! And for good reason, my gosh the food was so good. Eggs- fluffy. French toast- delicious. Biscuit- buttery. But the real winner for me here was the sausage patty. The definitive best breakfast sausage I have ever had. It was like a mini burger patty almost, but so soft and so flavorful oh my gosh. We couldn't stop talking about it! The service here was excellent with a kid-friendly staff and atmosphere, great lattes and a lovely little location with outdoor seating as an option. I wish we lived in the area, we would go here frequently if we could! Wilma and Frieda's was the culinary highlight of our multi-state week long trip!

The food was so delicious, breakfast and coffee, don't miss it! Service was exceptional and the vibe was great! I had the Bennies chile verde omelette - so flavorful with the house potatoes. I had to take leftovers home. The latte was beautiful. Highly recommend.

This spot is a gem for anyone looking for a high-quality American-style meal. The menu is incredibly versatile with a huge variety of combinations, and you can tell they prioritize fresh, healthy ingredients. The dishes are beautifully plated and taste as good as they look. I was particularly impressed by the portion sizes; they are generous enough to leave you satisfied without feeling like food is being wasted. If you're a breakfast lover, the morning menu is hearty, delicious, and a total standout. A few things to know before you go: * The Wait: It's a popular local favorite, so be prepared for a wait (up to 45 minutes during peak times). Reservations: They don't take online reservations, so you'll need to sign up in person. Expect to spend $20-30 on most dishes. Sunday Hours: Note that they stop serving at 2:00 PM on Sundays, so get there early!

Dog friendly. Always excellent service, great food, beautiful outdoor view. Early Tuesday morning, very peaceful outside. Pleasant server. Thank you Wilma & Frieda. I do wish the pastry area was manned differently. There's 1 person making coffees, paid our bill with our server who then told me to wait for pastries. Barista needs more help.

We had originally booked patio seating, but from the moment we walked in, the experience felt thoughtful and genuinely hospitable. We were warmly greeted by the owner, who immediately noticed we had a baby and proactively offered to relocate us to a more protected outdoor area while still preserving the al fresco experience. He set us up in the covered outdoor section to the right of the restaurant--best described as a beautifully styled canopy space rather than a typical patio. It was lush, cozy, and lavishly decorated with greenery, honestly a vibe all on its own. He even turned on the heaters to make sure our baby stayed warm. That level of care alone already set the tone for the night. Now let's talk about the food--because wow. This is classic French comfort done right. We started with the chicken liver pâté, which was easily one of the best I've had to date. Silky, rich, and deeply flavorful. This dish was especially nostalgic for me--my mom is a huge fan of pâté, and growing up we'd often eat it with bread as a snack or light meal. One bite instantly transported me back. Comfort food in the truest sense. For entrées, my wife ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon--tender, slow-braised beef that practically melted, swimming in a deeply savory, wine-forward sauce that felt both rustic and refined. I went with the Steak au Poivre, perfectly cooked and coated in a bold, peppery cream sauce that struck that ideal balance between richness and bite. Both dishes were executed beautifully--classic French flavors, no shortcuts, no gimmicks. Drinks were just as satisfying. I ordered a dirty Grey Goose martini with blue cheese olives, and let me tell you--it's surprisingly hard to find places that actually carry blue cheese olives. This one detail alone earned extra points in my book. The ambiance really tied everything together. French music played throughout both the indoor and outdoor spaces--some tracks were even recognizable, adding to the authenticity without feeling cliché. It felt transportive, warm, and relaxed. And bonus points for location: the restaurant sits right next to Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, making it dangerously easy (and highly recommended) to follow up dinner with dessert. All in all, French Rotisserie Cafe delivered on hospitality, atmosphere, and genuinely excellent French cuisine. Whether you're visiting Palm Desert for the first time or you're a local, this spot is absolutely worth a reservation.

It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it.
