We made reservations the day before and I'm glad we did because it got busy while we were there. We were seated and greeted quickly. I didn't take a picture of the menu because as the other reviews noted, they have definitely seen better days. Started off with the watermelon cocktail. It was very refreshing for such a hot day. We decided to get a variety of appetizers. We ordered the poke nachos, fried artichokes, the meatballs, and the fried buffalo shrimp, all of which were amazing. Everything we had was made to perfection. Service was decent but not very attentive once we had our food. I would rate this place a 4.5 out of five stars . To start the location of this place is very nice and the aesthetic inside is very nice . The service was great and we got sat right away which is always a place . The menu had a good amount of options. We got the bruschetta with the burrito for an appetizer but it tasted strange . The balsamic on it was very harsh and the burrata didn't do anything for it . The calamari was pretty good and it had a nice crunch to it . The burger was good however I wish they would have had other options for cheeses . They only had American I believe which is my least forgot cheese and it would have been nice to have cheddar . We had just got into town and came across The Hideout. They have garage parking (free). It is located upstairs right at the top of the escalator. There is an outside patio with plenty of seating and there was even live music going on. We requested to sit inside. There is a full bar with seating as well. Despite being short staffed, the service was great! Our food came out pretty quickly and our server always checked on us. We ordered truffle fries, buffalo wings, zucchini fries and a margherita pizza. Everything looked delicious and portions were big! We definitely had leftovers. My personal fave was the zucchini fries but all the food was really good! The zucchini fries were thickly sliced and the batter was crisp and both dipping sauces were good. The truffle fries were full of flavor, the wings were tasty (could've been a little more crispy in my opinion) and the margherita pizza was good. Definitely an appetizer an drinks spot, but maybe not the best for main courses. Located on the second floor, we were able to park in the attached lot no problem. We had made a reservation ahead of time and were seated inside, really enjoyed the vibe and our waiter was friendly. I had a lovely glass of rosé and my sister enjoyed her drink (they made a mocktail version of the mojito for her). Absolutely loved our apps - truffle fries were great, and my family loved the calamari and poke nachos. Unfortunately none of us were big fans of our main dishes though - seabass was too salty, burgers just okay, and my pomodoro just had no flavor to be honest. I've been eyeing this restaurant since they opened as they look the lease on a cute indoor/outdoor space that I used to frequent often when it was another restaurant. Today I found myself in downtown El Paseo, window shopping (saving my money for cocktails) and decided to finally give this spot a go. I love what they've done with the place, the decor and vibes were very relaxed yet classy. The menu here is the best part. I love any place that has a half of a page of their menu dedicated to appetizers. Even better when they all sound so good it's hard to choose. Lily was working today and I so appreciated her sweetness and willingness to give suggestions on the menu. She sold me on some amazing sounding bites so I went with a cocktail + an appetizer + a main (yolo). If there are fried zuchinni on a menu I am getting them! Their lightly batter tempura zuchinni sticks were addicting and I'll have to get them every time. Being a saucy girl I loved that they came with ranch and a chipotle aioli. Heavenly. Cocktails also lived up to my expectations. I had a beautiful pomegranate mojito which was super refreshing and well balanced, not too sweet, which was perfect for sipping on in this sunny-hot desert weather. My wife had a Strawberry Moscow mule and I had a basil margarita with muddled Strawberries and cucumbers (My request) and they accommodated!! Yummmmmmyyy both drinks. Our food was superb. Omggg...I do not normally eat all of my food in one sitting, especially a burger. However, I ate that whole 1/2 lb of short rib brisket and chuck blend gladly lol. It was delicious. Not to mention on a bed of butter lettuce and juicy tomatoes...ohhh.. that soft bun. I enjoyed my WHOLE meal. My wife had the chicken parmesan sandwich. She said it was okay. We liked the Humboldt fog, pear, and arugula pizza topping but next time I will order pepperoni because it's always my Favorite way to have pizza. I really appreciate that you can get a half a salad and it was pretty good with fresh ingredients however, it seemed like something was just a tad off. Maybe it needed more anchovy flavor. I had made reservations about a month in advance for my sister's bridal shower. They told me they could accommodate us (party of 15) outside and my only request was to be sat farthest from the live music so that we could all talk to each other without feeling like we needed to scream. The day before the bridal shower, I called and asked if we could have an extra table to put the gifts on, and they had said yes. When I arrived to the restaurant, they showed me our table, and it was the one right next to the live music. Also, there was no extra table for the gifts. I talked to one of the hostess and told her about my previous requests and she told me that there was another table that made reservations that day, and because their reservation was at an earlier time than mine, they got the table my group was suppose to get. I did not think that it was fair to give away our table to another group just because of the time, however, my group and I made it work. I will say the gentleman playing the music was kind enough to lower his sound so that we could talk without yelling. I do want to add that it was a very sunny, warm day and there was only one umbrella for all of us, and half the group was being scorched by the sun. I had to ask multiple times for another umbrella, and the group next to us was even willing to share theirs, but the waiters did not want to give us one. It took a long time for us to get another umbrella, but it was unfortunate that they did not want to be accommodating at first. We never got the extra table that I was told would be given to us so we had to put all the gifts on the floor. The food was pretty good and the setting was great, but the environment did not feel very welcoming to me and my group. It was my sister's special day so I made sure she had a good time, but The Hideout could've done better with sticking to their word and made our time with them less of a hassle. read more

My husband had the Raspberry drink that was tasty. He also had the Smashburger that had a very thick patty which was confusing. Not really a typical Smashburger. The Buffalo Shrimp were okay. I probably wouldn't order them again. The poke nachos were good. I'd definitely get those again. Service was attentive & friendly. Restaurant is nicely decorated but needs to be cleaner. Seats were full of food crumbs & droppings all over. As we were sat right across from the kitchen door, I also observed one of the cooks with gloves on talking on his cell phone. TLDR: generous portions, nice location! This place is located on the second floor of a bright and airy outdoor mall. We found street parking nearby and took the escalator up to the second floor, where the restaurant was at. I was a part of a group of 8 celebrating a birthday. Even though it was a Saturday, we stumbled upon this place and were seated in a reasonable time. Service was decent throughout. We were hungry, and ordered a variety of things from the menu. I ordered the happy hour poke nachos, and received a pretty good sized plate that I shared. Someone else ordered the regular size, intending for it be a meal, and received a giant rectangular plate that could have easily been shared by our whole party. I also ordered a lamb burger, which was absolutely delicious and pretty hearty. Others ordered smash burgers, which were decent, and several pizzas, including a "children's" pizza that was larger than some personal-sized pizzas I've seen elsewhere. Overall, the prices were fairly reasonable and the portions weren't skimpy. They were also able to accommodate us by bringing the children's food first, so they were able to get a head start and then we were all able to enjoy. I had the Oriental chicken salad. It was light but filled with flavor. The truffle fries lacked in truffle flavor. And were more Parmesan than truffle. Overall I would try it again. We had a mixed experience here. The restaurant is styled really nicely. Great atmosphere. The apps were good (sliders and the poke nachos). My son's pizza was good...great tasting dough and sauce. My husband was happy with his blue cheese burger. My brother didn't eat his fish and chips...he didn't like it at all. The fries were all he ate (great fries!) The waiter recommended the lamb burger to me, but it was flavorless and under seasoned. It sounded so good on the menu, and it fell so flat. I was surprised it was recommended. I didn't taste any tzatziki sauce on it. Service was just okay. When I questioned them the hostess said "Well what do you want me to do?" Ummm get my table that I reserved without your attitude and snide comments.. Was told I could go to the bar and sit anywhere.. I did and she made me move to a small table.. I mean how rude can you be? Open seating but only where you tell me to sit? Was sat at a super small table in the bar across from the bathroom and had hardly any room for my lunch plate.. Had to eat with my purse on my lap.. Took 20 min to even be acknowledged at the table. Took another 20 to get my cocktail. Waiter just dropped literally dropped the silverware on the table.. Then had to ask for a menu and waited 30 min for my lunch. Hostess is rude and snippy.
