When your breath smells as bad as the owner of this places, you're not gunna get far in this business. The Music is a lot of mariachi music, multiple mariachi songs full blown mariachi style, with extremely loud glass tapping by the bartender with a spoon and a bottle. (If you're into that obnoxious style I guess this is your spot) It just doesn't seem very upscale to me, but the prices are thats for sure. About 30 people total at the bar, not busy as the place was winding down. Bartender spent literally 20-30 minutes serving this one customer that he was hitting on exchanging numbers and what not (after having taken a shot with her). During this time, I tried to get his attention to order a drink and close my tab. He eventually got me a beer and a shot - ordered him one too since he was clearly fine with drinking on the job - then he went back to flirting with this girl. 10 minutes pass again while I'm periodically trying to get his attention so I could close my tab. Ultimately tried to ask the bar back, she couldn't help. She got the attention the other bartender to help. Other bartender also couldn't find my tab, and swore it was the first bartender that had it. I was frustrated and emphatically said I just wanted to close my tab. Then the first bartender literally smashed a glass in front of me on the bar, then proceeded to throw another glass across the bar! He absolutely flipped his lid and threatened me and had to be restrained. They finally found my card as it was stashed in some glass on the back wall of the bar. I think that the "Libation Room" is trying to appeal to a younger crowd, who is looking for nice ambiance (aka "not a dive bar"). While the floorplan is the same as other neighborhood "shoebox" bars, the décor is sophisticated--it has a hint of Vegas. There are three booths available for bottle service. (If I recall, $200 was the lowest priced package for a booth.) Our group ordered gin / vodka tonics. The average price for a drink was $12.50--so the drinks prices aren't cheap. This is an interesting place. It's not my sort of place--but it's different, compared to a lot of other smaller sized bars in the Coachella Valley. read more

This place was good for what it is. Came here on a Saturday night as a party of six. The ambience was typical of a lounge. The bouncers were friendly, as were the bartenders and staff. Of course, there's always some trouble with nightclubbers. The drinks we ordered were two of the same. We ordered the Matcha shots. They were actually pretty good. One thing I didn't particularly like about this place was the bathroom. I went to one out of the two restrooms here, the lower one. It wasn't very well cleaned as it was one stall and high use. The DJ was somewhat decent the night we came. He played two of my requests after asking a handful of times. I would most likely try out another lounge or nightclub in the area or Palm Springs, before returning to this one. read more

Excellent customer service on a September Saturday.. not too busy but the DJ was playing some James. End of the night, after last call... security/manager made sure the creepers didn't come after us. And I get it, usually they don't have time to do this, but luckily our hotel was down the street and they made sure we got back safely.. We were on a double date and decided to find a bar nearby after dinner. This place came up on my search on Yelp and did not disappoint! First impression: it was a lot smaller than I thought. The interior was narrow but stretched pretty far back. We sat on the bar stools right by the bar. My lemon drop was phenomenal. I'd go there just for that. We had the best time there. We've celebrated two events here so far, we absolutely love the vibe here. Once was for a friends birthday, last night was for my birthday/ bachelor/ bachelorette party. We had an absolutely amazing time. I scheduled ahead of time with Danielle who was absolutely amazing at communicating with me and even let my friends decorate. I love how diligent security is with people who are being a nuisance. It feels safe. Gigi is an absolute doll! I love her attention to detail and service! She deserves a raise! Lol the drinks are amazing and the environment is so very much our vibe we're 30+ and have a hard time finding clubs that are more our scene, mature so to speak. We wore white shoes and for once they weren't covered in spills or scuffed up like they would've been normally. Totally different crowd and we appreciate that! The Djs wife wouldn't let me approach him, which I thought was odd, even after tipping $20 he only played two songs of the artists we suggested and by the time I asked we only had less than an hour left in the night. If you enjoy drinking tiny shards of broken glass this is the place for you. Despite the fact that I mentioned to the bartender she's not supposed to jam a glass into the ice bin to fill it because if the glass breaks broken glass will be in the ice bin and get into somebody's drink ...she kept doing it all night. She took an attitude when I mentioned this to her and later refused to give me water looking straight at me and like walking away. When we arrived at 9pm no one was there and a couple workers were just talking to each other at the back of the bar meanwhile there was trash all over the floor and in the booths - they weren't set up and they didn't clean it up until 10 o'clock. The DJ is very good but this place in in serious violation Because of their unfriendly bartender jamming actual glass into an ice bin which is like absolutely unprofessional and crazy. Also somebody needs to tell the bartender when someone arrives you sit down a cocktail napkin in front of them, you ask them what they want to drink, and then you place their drink on the cocktail napkin which is not what happened and I had to ask for a cocktail napkins and the unhappy Bartender Looked at me like I asked to borrow money. Next time I will go to the NEST where they use a metal scooper to get the ice into the glass and they also are super friendly. read more

He was also incredibly unprofessional and immature as we tried to talk to him as adults, asking for an apology. This bar was fun and the bartenders were very good. The other staff was friendly. I went on friday night and there was a group of girls on wedding trip so the place was getting busy. I could see some locals came in and know each other im not from palm desert so I felt a little out of place but the vibe made up for. We had a girls weekend in Pam deserts and dinner with at Mastro's , had heard about Libation room so walked over to the club. The vibe was great, loved the music and the room in the back. There was a good mix of people. The service and drinks were amazing especially the white linen cocktail. Saw a few private party groups having lots of fun and bottle service was provided. After reading the reviews on Yelp and Google about the doorman named Ray I can see why he has a lot of bad press- He started to get irritated when I questioned him and he went and got another staff member to come out this guy has napoleon complex big time. We went to another place where they earned our $400.00 plus dollars we spent that night I will definitely not be back here If you want a cool spot to try the Nest or Kitch 86 IMO:) So Ray next time you decide to LIE and say " NO HATS" when someone points it out right behind you and you get squirmy and have to run inside and bring out some guy who thinks he looks tuff to try to intimidate someone try again. Recommended if you're a resort type dude. Otherwise I'd go elsewhere. Not a great date spot either. While in PD or near El Paseo there are better lounges/bars to visit. If you are looking for a place to have a good time this is NOT! It's full of rude staff that need to work on their communication skills and if you are a person of COLOR the staff will make you feel uncomfortable. I had just finished having dinner with a friend ( we are both latina) and decided to check this place out. As we headed out to hand our ID to the host she gave us this rude look and told us she was not letting anyone in. Then we politely ask if she would be letting people once others leave and she said told us she was not going to let any more people in. My friend and I decided to leave and as we left we saw the host letting big groups in. The group that the host let in the lounge weren't even dress nice they were in sun dresses and chanclas(sandals). This establishment is pure trash. The bartender Cesar charges your credit card for drinks you didn't order, has a very nasty and vile attitude. The owner is no better, when confronted about the unauthorized charges on my credit card, he did nothing about it. I still have a charge for over $145 that they refuse to refund. The drinks are not good and very expensive. read more
