Cold crab cakes that wouldnt have tasted good even if it was hot, pathetic burrata salad
Cassandra R.

We have been coming here for the last 5 years to celebrate our anniversary and unfortunately this time was the biggest let down. We were served cold crab cakes, a burrata salad (literally had two slivers of burrata on it, a shrimp cocktail that tasted over cooked and old (costcos is waaaay better) my salmon came out on such a hot plate that it took me by surprise especially when I went to take a bite and it was completely raw in the middle. It was not only raw but had a very unpleasant smell and taste. Even though our waiter was very nice and offered to have it remade we had to ask for our check because it had turned my stomach.

Veal Osso Buco

Pricey but delicious. The lemony Caesar was great, the veal Osso Buco and scallops both outstanding, but the corn side dish was to die for!

Waiting for a table in the beautiful bar area.

YELP SHORT ANSWER: maybe, if you're visiting and curious or a guest at the resort with credits, then yes. If it a great experience. If you're part of a conference and on an expense account then for sure. Locals maybe not so much. LOCATION: none better this. Everything is dialed and beautiful on this property. FACILITY: first class as well as the staff here. It truly is extraordinary. MENU: excellent choices as long as you don't look to the right at the prices. Order what you want but set your expectations correctly. You're at a resort. FOOD PREP: it was very nice but nothing special for my visit. However I did remind myself again, I was at a resort... it looked okay but under delivered platting for the prices charged, just food on a dish. FOOD QUALITY: we ordered a filet and the gnocchi, both resort priced. 8oz Filet was cooked consistent MR but was tasteless meat. No sear flavor at all. The gnocchi was kind of a mess but in the grand scheme of things, it was just food and money so we enjoyed ourselves and did not complain. LIBATIONS: wow, expensive! WAITSTAFF: again, exceptional service and kindness. OVERALL VALUE: if I was on an expense account I would not care but the Morgan's experience is missing the mark for this local. Did meet the new GM who was awesome and he did indeed ask how things were, I did not want to engage in my opinion as the LQ Resort brand is way beyond my little opinion, I just hope he spends his money there and evaluates the equity. This must be a difficult position if our visit was indicative of other guest's experiences. TIP: maybe try the bar in Morgan's which is beautiful and expensive, then escape and enjoy the outdoors bar for a fun $14 margarita and take it all in. Love this resort, but Morgan's is not for me.

First off the staff is super kind. The food though.. For what you're paying, yikes. Not worth it. We ordered a few things and among them were a steak, Mac n cheese, and fries. They all look like something from a bad buffet. Not worth the price at all.

Worth every dollar spent at this restaurant!! The service was excellent from the server, Alfonso and his helper Joel. The ambience is perfect for a date night. We got the ribeye and filet mignon. Both cooked deliciously. They gave us a free cheesecake for our anniversary!! It's was soooo good. One of the best resort restaurants we've had!!

Faroe Island Salmon Sautéed Local Corn, Confit Atlas Carrots, Garlic & Caper Béarnaise, Basil Oil

Excellent service, friendly and professional. The venue is sophisticated and music was 60s as one may expect from an establishment from a 1926 resort. Very relaxing. The food was exceptional, we had an Sunset Special, the 2 Course Prix Fixe and our party of 3 chose each different starter, they offered a chilled soup as the Farmer's Market Soup which my daughter enjoyed, my wife was very satisfied with the Crab Cakes and I thoroughly enjoyed the Garden of Root Salad with its variety of textures. For the main course we had the Faroe Island Salmon and the Beef Bourguignon, both were excellent. Highly recommend experiencing Morgan's when staying at La Quinta.

Vanilla Bean Profiteroles

We decided to try the summer special. I never had a Meyer Lemon & Watermelon Gazpacho (almost like a chilled 'soup') was surprisingly good and refreshing. The Flat Iron Steak, though, was a bit on the dry side and could have been more tender. Luckily, the Vanilla Bean Profiteroles was absolutely amazing. We also ordered Spicy Cajun Shrimp, which I enjoyed the creamy polenta. All was accompanied with a Melon Spritz. Our server, Ivan, was attentive throughout the evening, making the experience enjoyable.

If I could give a 10 star I would... what a wonderful birthday celebration ..: the place was hopping and the music playing made for a festive celebration... of course having the beautiful and well informed Marilyn as our server enhanced the whole evening... the coupe was having Chef Rene come and actually sit with us .... We felt like celebrities... and the restaurant manager ( a retired marine) was just awesome... food and drinks were above and beyond... thank you entire crew who all helped to make this an exceptional and truly memorable evening

We had a wonderful dining experience at Morgan's in the Desert! Beautiful ambiance on the heated patio, excellent service, and delicious food (the Chilean Sea Bass was a standout!).

Happy Hour is 3:30-6 and there's a few dollar discount on selected food items and drinks. For appetizers, we ordered the Burrata platter and the dates. We also ordered a date burger and the following martinis: pear, pink lady, and espresso martini. This was my first time trying an espresso martini (ever) and I'm glad I waited until the end of dinner before ordering it. It's more a dessert or finishing drink. The Burrata platter was delicious and beautifully presented. The dates were good but too sweet for our tastes (yes, we are aware dates are naturally sweet, LOL). We only ate a few and saved the rest for later. The date burger and fries were delicious. The only downside was I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it was well done. The drinks were good and beautifully presented. The ambiance and atmosphere, for this restaurant, is very upscale and unique. I will continue visiting each time I'm in La Quinta. See you soon!

Incredible pork ribs - melt in your mouth and super flavorful. The seafood ceviche was also surprisingly yummy - the sauce they created was perfect and the best part!! They also have a full bar now, so there are many more options for libations while you eat. We arrived right on time for our 6PM reservation and we were seated at the outdoor table we pined for. The weather and the setting definitely started this dinner with a positive outlook. We were a party of five, with three of us ordering different Taco alternatives. I requested the Shrimp, my wife asked for the Salmon and our daughter selected Filet Mignon. The flavor of all the Tacos was out of this world, as the ingredients and the sauces involved within those corn tortillas meshed together magically. I will say that paying $20 for two small tacos that weren't PACKED was a little bit of a RIP. The other two guests in our party went for two different types of Pizza. They both boxed a slice or two to take home. As sides, we had two orders of Truffle Fries and one of the Brussel Sprouts. Both were phenomenal but the veggies could have been more plentiful. To go with our dinners, my wife and I brought our own Meadowcroft GSM that generated two surprises for us. One was how great it accompanied what we ingested, the other was the $30 corkage on the bill. To round out the night out, my daughter shared a Sundae-Sundae with the other guests. Being able to get out to see new restaurants once a month is a gift, and most of what we experienced was a HUGE thumbs up. We just felt like what was provided in a casual setting was a little overpriced. This will not be on a future "to do" list.

Lively, diverse, energized full of bright faces that bring light to the dimly lit space. Service was stellar - attentive, on it, anticipated needs/preferences before they were even addressed. A quick anecdote, the waitress made PROACTIVE decisions knowing I am Vegan, not just reactive - a rare thing outside of high dining restaurant. Red wine flight included a fantastic Cab & Cab Reserve, and a "very good" Pinot...and that's coming from a person who does not drink Pinot. I didn't care for the blend but then again I never care for a blend as it is. Food was "American" style tapas - small plates of well crafted foods ranging from flatbread pizza to meatballs to vege pockets and (for me) a "Vegan Stack" composed of rice, mango, avocado, and a delicious spicy mayo. Tiramisu dessert disappeared in all of 20 seconds, well plated and beautifully crafted. You will not leave La Fe thinking to yourself "that was the greatest food I've ever had," but you may just leave thinking "this was the best time with my friends I've ever had" - and THAT is what this restaurant is for -- Bring your friends for a night on the town, bring your family for an energized reunion, bring yourself for a social time itch-scratching. In other words, this restaurant has a unique PLACE in the Palm Desert area: it is the place to happy social.

The mussels are normally cooked with some kind of pork, which I don't eat, but when I asked if it was possible to get it without pork, they said they could definitely do that, which is never expected but definitely always appreciated! The lamb chops were delicious and cooked to perfection. They came on a bed of some sort of salad, with some aioli and mint jelly. Personally the salad and jelly didn't work for me but my husband's short rib (which was also cooked perfectly) came on a bed of cauliflower puree which was so delicious that I ate half. On night two, I ordered the lamb chops again but requested they be served with the cauliflower puree, and they happily obliged. My husband got branzino, which he thought was good but I thought it was great, and I usually don't care for it. Pro tip: They offer a $15 corkage fee but I think you may have to ask when you make a reservation and they also have a $15 coupon (business card) at the front desk. The service was great, both of our waitresses were perfectly attentive and the bussers were on point. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area and we plan to come back every time we are in town.

The Grilled Lobster Tail Tacos were loaded with meat, not tiny little pieces hidden in toppings. You actually get full lobster tail flavor in every bite. My wife's Verde Enchiladas were outstanding too. Dessert sealed the deal. The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the best dessert we had the entire trip. Cocktails were equally impressive. The aproned and bow-tied bartenders and waitstaff are REALLY good at their assignments. The back bar is ornate and old. Set your expectations high for the quality and presentation of the food. if you're a party of two, the bar is THE best option (perhaps only) and your wait time to order will likely be shorter there. If you're eating at the bar, ask your neighbors what they recommend or what they ordered, and you won't go wrong. Paul Bar is a one-off, not to be missed dining experience in Palm Springs.
