Got the hot bird sandwich with the truffle tots. The sandwich was okay and the tots were good but would definitely get them plain next time. The buffalo sauce was definitely overpowering and the slaw didn't have much flavor to cut the vinegar. The quality of the chicken patty could've been better for the price point of the sandwhich which did not come with a side. Sandwich was $20 and the tots were $8 or $9. I was hoping this establishment would have great food as it is so close to my home. I love the farm to table concept and I would love to support the husband / wife owners. The service was 5 star, unfortunately, the food was just meh. The tater tots tasted like they were made in old oil. The "drawn butter" for the lobster roll tasted like anything but butter, was cold, and had a really odd thick texture to it (as many restaurants as I've been to in my life I've never seen butter with this consistency or taste). The lobster in the lobster roll appeared to be mostly the claws - or just tough in general. It was not a tender and moist lobster roll. And the bun had that same funky old oil taste on it that was on the tater tots. We might return because we really want to support this husband / wife team - but it'll be a while and hopefully they'll fix all that's broken by that point. read more

(Per my youngest and I). Burger - 7.5/10. Good flavor, not very big, and the bun was a little big for the size of the patty (per the husband). Chilaquiles - 7/10. The chilaquiles itself was great, flavorful sauce, the chips had maintained some Crunch etc. The egg was only one egg so that was a bit of a bummer but it was fried and seasoned perfectly. While the food is good , the portion size is incredibly small for a $16 salad . Added chicken for $8 and it amounted to 2 tablespoons of shredded chicken . I am so disappointed for the price charged and portion given . Being a local I'd like to support them , but this is highway robbery . Very disappointing. Ordered the Ahi bowl times 2 see picture I took upon opening. First off this does not represent the Ahi bowl picture they show on their website. Then over cooked and BBQ sauce Poured over I assume to hide the fact that it was over cooked. Six small little pieces of Ahi. Very small Pickles with Ahi seriously never seen that before. My wife and I were really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, the food and experience left us incredibly disappointed. We ordered the Midnight Sandwich, Kids Grilled Cheese, and Tater Tots. Right off the bat, the grilled cheese was a mess -- the cheese wasn't even melted all the way through, the bread was cut so thick that it stayed cold in the middle, and the grilled side was soaking in oil, making the whole thing soggy and unappetizing. The Midnight Sandwich was even worse. The bread was burnt, the sandwich itself was sad and paper-thin -- somehow even smaller and less appealing than the kids grilled cheese -- and they forgot to include the avocado entirely which I paid extra for. All of this cost us $50. For that price, we expected something at least halfway decent, especially since we were the only people in the restaurant the entire time. It was quiet, yes, but not in a good way -- more like a red flag we ignored. Bottom line: skip this place. There are far better spots around that won't leave you feeling ripped off and hungry. read more

It was easy and not crowded, but not my favorite style. We had the Midnight sandwich and the double-club, and truffle tater tots. The midnight sandwich was heavenly (spinach, bacon, egg, etc on sourdough), but the club was kind of boring. You can't really go wrong with truffle tater tots, but that's true anywhere. Location: great parking Buildout: nice but nothing fancy indoors or out. Menu: a large menu best to check online before arriving as the line here can get long and it is so annoying when people are frozen trying to decide. Food Quality: good to very good for what this place is all about. Real Cooked Food definitely not Fast Food. Waitstaff: always hire nice people here, but it does get crazy busy so be understanding the people working are probably not having as much fun as you are.!. Coachella brought in some real challenges. Overall Value: a bit on the expensive side for what it is, check the menu but $20 for a sandwich and water is common. This is the second time I have been here. The first time to be honest neither of us liked our meal but it was new and super busy and I am always up for giving a second chance. I got the chicken salad sandwich $ 16.00 avocado $ 3.00 then I ordered a tomato drink that came from a jug for $ 13.00 needless to say I could have done with out the drink as I was shocked at the $ 36.00 bill after tax. Chicken sandwich was very good a bit salty for me but overall very good. It didn't come with any side like fries or anything. Nice presentation of the food on the plate. The Baja tacos per my sis were excellent. I was not a fan of the peppers but it's not my thing. I will come back. However it is very expensive so maybe once in a while. Disappointed by Owner - Will Not Return I really hate to leave a bad review, especially because the staff at Heirlom have always been so kind and pleasant. I've supported this restaurant many times and genuinely appreciate the people who work there. However, my recent experience with the owner was so unpleasant that I feel compelled to speak up. I placed an Uber Eats order and included a polite note requesting ketchup and Cholula sauce. To my surprise, I received only one packet of ketchup and one packet of Cholula. When I called to follow up, the owner informed me that her staff is "instructed" to only include one of everything unless a specific quantity is stated. I explained that I wasn't aware of this policy--how would a customer know they need to specify "3 packets" in the app? Rather than listening or showing any empathy, the owner became rude and defensive from the very beginning of the call. I remained calm and simply tried to explain the situation, but she interrupted me and abruptly said, "I'm not doing this with you," and hung up. It was shocking and honestly very disrespectful. To make matters worse, I paid $50 for a burrito because the owner required me to add an $8 item in order to include vegan eggs in my vegan breakfast burrito--a substitution I've made before just by leaving a note, with no issue. She even said she'd "get on her staff" for doing this in the past, which made me feel worse, because again, the staff is lovely and doesn't deserve blame for something so minor. The food at Heirlom is honestly not worth the price--it's just okay, and definitely overpriced. I only continued to support it because of the great staff and its proximity to my favorite coffee shop next door. This place is close to the festival and has a good ambience most of the time but after this experience with the owner, I won't be returning. It's clear that customers or customer service is not a priority for the owner, and that's not something I can support. read more

Pleasant family owned business with several patio tables outdoors and an extensive breakfast/lunch menu, which made it very hard to decide. I almost went for the heirloom tomato caprese, which looked delicious but opted for the lighter egg whites and a tasty avocado, with quality sourdough bread, because the sandwiches are huge. Numerous vegetarian options, including impossible burgers, marched by our table as the servers carried them out to other patrons. The burger's bun was beautifully grilled, so I will have to try it. My friend said her heirloom tomato on her chicken salad sandwich was delicious, so maybe I will try the caprese next time. The fresh brewed iced tea was very good as well, but served in a plastic glass. They also serve fountain drinks, beer on tap, and wine. read more

I was at HCK a few years ago and had the grilled watermelon salad and it was excellent -- light, refreshing and tasty! I was back a couple weeks ago and the watermelon did not appear grilled, goat cheese was so heavily added it overwhelmed the other flavors and the dressings that should have been drizzled (basalmic and something else) were also way too much. This was a mistake. I usually stop next door at the Local before getting groceries at Ralph's, and decided to switch it up today. I ordered a caprese salad and iced tea, was handled a bottle of tea and told it would take 30 minutes for my food to be prepared. I look around the near empty restaurant: only two tables are seated and they both have food already. Why would it take 30 min for a salad? I explained I am STARVING and asked if an appetizer would come out faster and was told it would, so I ordered deviled eggs for $12, which is an insane price for 2 eggs but I was starving. My total for salad, bottled iced tea, and deviled eggs was $35. I was prompted to leave a 15-25% tip and told I would be waiting on myself, shown where the silverware and napkins, water, etc were. Why am I tipping you to wait on myself? I left 15% because I'm a service industry vet and I can't help it. As the kitchen pumped out to-go orders for delivery pickup with no sign of my food on the way, I became worried. 15 minutes later the cashier came over to inform me they are out of deviled eggs and the salad was also not ready. Again this is cold food you put on a plate with little to no preparation, so how is this hard to prioritize? I just canceled my order, got a refund, and left. No wonder the dining room is empty during Saturday brunch. Just close your dining room if you want to be a delivery business. Do not do this to your in-house customers. I will never eat here again. I went next door and had a lovely salad with salmon and nice table service, and will continue to do that instead. * I did buy some burrata next door at Ralph's for $9 so I can make several caprese salads faster and for a fraction of the price at home, and skip the expensive delivery option as well. Those menu prices should come with top-notch service to justify the cost. read more

I was wonderfully surprised at there being a true low carb menu item that was sort of like 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 pancakes but instead of pancakes it was avocado and slices of tomato. This made my hungry heart happy. And the eggs were cooked to over-easy perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's walk up counter service and then you sit at a table with a number. I enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. Their dishes come in servings sufficient enough for one person. I suggest to try the sides like fried sweet potatoes and shishito peppers along with your chosen main course. I had the teriyaki chicken with avocado, pickles, carrots, and rice (I may have forgotten other greens) my husband's was the same only that his was pork. The staff are accommodating, and friendly. Unfortunately a very bad experience. The soda machine had no co2, the food was overpriced and the bread on my "cheesesteak" tasted like the mold had just been scrapped off. The meat had a "oil slick" shimmer on it and we had to stop eating it. $20 for a Cobb salad that had old wilted iceberg lettuce and dehydrated bacon bits (yes, the ones you get in the seasoning aisle at a grocery store) couldn't even finish our meal and felt super sick later in the day.
