I've just got to say, I'm so happy they are still here after all these years. Recently I rediscovered the John's in Palm Springs. Ever since, the Palm Desert location has been on my list to re-visit. I have many fond memories of visiting this location many moons ago. When I lived and worked in the area. The chicken sandwich and zucchini are still my favorite menu items. I love the distinct char flavor of the chicken. Plus the seasoned breading and large piece's of the fried zucchini are just perfect on their own or dipped in ranch sauce. Generous portions, friendly staff, comfortable booths and delicious food! They have their own parking lot to the rear of the building.

I love John's in Palm Springs, so of course I had to stop by John's in Palm Desert because I just wanted to something good, fast, and cheap. I actually came here twice, but the first time was just to get a breakfast burrito to go. It was the greasy goodness that I was hoping to get. Second time I came here was for an actual sitdown experience. Got the gyro dinner with fries and vegetables. It was solid, as I was expecting. Definitely let here very satisfied!

The staff were friendly and the food looked good but my expectations were not met. Had the Fish and Chips, and initially, the coleslaw tasted good but had an after taste, which deminished my interest. The fish was hot but greasy. The fries were plentiful but became less crispy the longer they were on the plate. I was the only person in the place for most of the time I was there, and I was surprised how long it took for the meal to get to me. Their breakfast must be great because my dinner was mearly subsistence, yet it has been open for years. Maybe I just caught them on bad day.

Here is what it should say: Special: The works omelette (no apostrophe and omelet was misspelled) Ham, bacon, sausage and cheddar cheese.

Ugh! Old, trashy, walk-up style eating. Outdated, in need of a serious face lift. Average food and service. Prices fair.

There were a lot of breakfast options, from specialty pancakes and waffles to unique omelets and Mexicandishes like Chilaquiles. I got the Biancasada omelet, which has carne asada, peppers, onions and cheese. It is served with your choice of side (I got potato wedges) and bread (I subbed the grilled peach specialty pancake). The omelet was ok...the carne asada wasn't great and the other ingredients could have been cooked more. The wedges were good, but I didn't like the grilled peach pancake as much as I thought I would and wished I would have got the lemon blueberry. Portions were big, and I took half to go. Hubby got the chorizo con papas omelet with hash browns cooked extra crispy and a buttermilk pancake. The omelet was really good, and the hash browns were cooked well. The pancake was a pancake. They only have Pepsi products, so I went with water, which they refilled well. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they had Hawaiian music playing. I'd come back to try lunch. The sandwiches and burgers coming out looked good.

After being seated, we waited quite a while before someone finally came over to take our food and drink order. After placing our order, we sat there for well over 30 minutes waiting. Our drinks, which were just an orange juice and a coffee, never arrived, and no one ever came back to check on us or give us an update. We were simply left sitting there with nothing. At that point, we decided to get up, cancel our order, and leave. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy, but there was little communication and we felt completely forgotten. It is really unfortunate because this used to be one of my favorite brunch spots. I hope this was just an off day, but today's service was unacceptable and incredibly disappointing. I truly hope they can turn things around because I would love to enjoy this place again. However, until then I don't think I will be coming back.

I happened to visit right before 4th of July weekend, and it was SO peaceful. The resort was incredibly quiet, there were plenty of lounge chairs available, and it honestly felt like I had the place almost to myself. It made for such a relaxing and stress-free vacation. The staff deserves a huge shoutout because every single person I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Whether I had a question or needed something, they were always quick to assist and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. One thing I really appreciate is that they include some fun perks with the resort fee. We received complimentary games of duckpin bowling, which was such a fun bonus and something a little different from your typical resort activities. There are plenty of amenities to keep you entertained if you want to stay on property, and the entire resort is beautifully maintained. The grounds are clean, the landscaping is gorgeous, and everything feels well cared for. If I had one small criticism, it's that they definitely find little ways to charge extra. For example, if you want a microwave in your room, there's an additional fee. It wasn't a huge deal for me, but it's something to be aware of if you plan on bringing leftovers or snacks. As for the food, I'd say it's average. Nothing was bad, but it wasn't the highlight of the trip either. Thankfully, the location is great and there are plenty of excellent restaurants just a short drive away, so I never felt limited by the dining options. Overall, I think this resort offers fantastic value for the price. Between the beautiful property, excellent service, relaxing atmosphere, and all the amenities included, it's an easy place to recommend. I've enjoyed every stay here, and after experiencing it during a quieter time of year, I already know I'll be coming back again. Highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage getaway

Our rooms were supposed to be ready at 12:00 PM, but when we got there around 12:28 PM they still weren't available. We ended up waiting in the lobby for about 25 minutes just trying to speak to a manager because the front desk staff couldn't get the rooms unlocked. The employees at the front desk were polite and trying their best, so this is not directed at them, but the communication and management responsiveness really need improvement. After traveling all day, it was frustrating sitting in the lobby with no clear updates or help. Then after finally getting into the room, I went to take a shower and the shower hose had been pointed straight outward. The second I turned the water on, it sprayed directly into my face and all over the bathroom floor. When I turned the water back toward the shower, I noticed there was already a towel sitting inside the shower completely drenched, which honestly made the whole room feel like it hadn't been properly checked or prepared before guests arrived. The property itself is beautiful, but the overall experience definitely did not match the level of service I expect from a Marriott property.

It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

We got grapefruit & watermelon, and both were refreshing and cooling. We ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast croissant, the breakfast sandwich, and the salmon crepe. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I found the salmon crepe to be really delicious, served with a jammy egg, a generously sized portion of salmon on a bed of spinach with some creme fraiche all wrapped in a delicious crepe wrap. I've never had anything quite like it. Also major compliments to the simple but refreshing side salad that came with each of our breakfasts, but we were also given the option of potatoes or mixed berries. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area looking for a good spot to have brunch.
