The service here is possibly the best of the coachella valley! On a Friday lunch hour, they were busy but we were still seated immediately and treated with so much attentiveness. We ordered a burrito and chilaquiles. The associate heard me mention that I was sharing the chilaquiles and the kitchen went out of their way to make two perfect half-portions so me and my boyfriend could have our own plates. They're so thoughtful! And the verde sauce was incredible. I usually love to lather on hot sauce to my food, but it was perfect as is. The burrito was also a generous portion, we took the second half to go. The restaurant is cozy and clean. We came in hungry so we ate fast and were out in less than 30 minutes - which speaks volumes to how good their food and service is.

I was visiting the JW Marriott for a weekend business trip and had already eaten at the locations on the resort. My wife visited me the last night to join me for dinner and yet every local restaurant we tried to get a table at was solidly booked. So, we came to Yelp and found that Restaurante Los Primos had great reviews and upon calling they had a table. So, we headed over. Upon pulling up to the restaurant we realized it wasn't a high end place, instead a strip mall restaurant. Honestly, we thought of leaving since we were hoping for something a bit different. But, we were hungry and had already spent an hour trying to find a place to go. Walking in, it wasn't near what we'd hoped for, but since Yelp had proven right in past gambles we took a chance. What RLP was lacking in location and atmosphere, it made up for in friendly and welcoming service and a delicious dinner. The roasted beet salad was quite good! With candied walnuts and blue cheese, it was full of flavors. The salmon was cooked perfectly and my ossobucco was great as well. I feel their service and food belong in a different location. Rooting for them. The best part was the service with the meal a close second. Glad we couldn't get a table elsewhere as it was fun to find a little gem in Palm Desert.

Breakfast quesadilla

We came to Los Primos for breakfast and had a great experience overall. The restaurant was immaculate--super clean and welcoming, which I always appreciate. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and my husband had the breakfast quesadilla. Both dishes were fresh and flavorful, and we really enjoyed our meal. The rancheros were delicious, though next time I'd probably ask for the sauce on the side, as it was a bit overpowering for my personal taste. We also ordered the café de olla, which was tasty and nicely spiced, though a little on the weak side for me. That said, it came with two delicious shortbread cookies, which was such a lovely touch. Overall, great food, a spotless space, and a solid breakfast spot. We'd definitely come back--and just make a couple small tweaks to our order next time.

Bang bang shrimp

We went here on a recent vacation to Palm Springs and this was definitely the best Mexican food we had while there. We started with the bag bang shrimp, and then had two kinds of enchiladas, the stuffed chicken, and a quesadilla. All were very good. I'd give the edge to the stuffed chicken, and we preferred the green enchiladas to the red. The hot salsa was also tasty (and actually spicy). I'd skip the bang bang shrimp next time - kind of tasted like it has been reheated from frozen fried shrimp.

Restaurante Los Primos continues to be my #1 favorite restaurant in Palm Desert. Why ? Quality. Flavor. Quantity. Excellent Price. A real value proposition for the quality of food delivered. If you haven't tried it yet .. do it. You'll discover that it's easier to dine here and maybe cheaper even than cooking at home and don't be surprised if you make it a daily appearance.

Open face tuna melt

We came here for lunch based on the great reviews. This location was in a nice looking strip mall, the restaurant had about 15 tables with a couple of tables outside as well. All but 2 of these tables were filled when we arrived for lunch. They offer breakfast and lunch during the lunch hour. They had some nice soups and salads, tacos, burritos, burgers and sandwiches. We ordered the chicken tacos and the open faced chipotle tuna melt. Although the tacos may sound simple, their combination was delicious. They placed a nice dab of guacamole as the base, filled with chicken, grilled onions and bells, pico de gallo and a chipotle sauce drizzle. They nailed the flavor combo. The tuna melt was served on top of cornbread which gave the tuna and Gruyère cheese a complimentary taste of sweetness. They also stacked avocado and tomato for bites of freshness! This was really a great grouping of flavors. The service here was excellent. We were having a bit of a business conversation and our waiter took care of our drink refills quickly and without interrupting us. He cleared our plates when we were finished and noticed when we were ready to leave and helped us settle our bill. So glad we found this place on our visit to this town.

When you drive up, it looks like just another Mexican restaurant. However, Once you enter, it becomes this "Elevated Mexican" cuisine. Nicacia was gracious, helpful, and professional in describing the food, restaurant history (2 cousins own and are the chefs), and the more recent opening of dinner hours. This place has diverse dining patrons and on point with all the fish tacos, salsas, y todo. Go surprise a loved one with a great home cooked meal amongst kind people.

Food is really tasty; service is speedy and courteous. This is my mom's favorite diner in Palm Desert. The space is charming and bright; there's a beautiful view of the mountains to the west. I had the banana walnut pancakes. It was a short stack of three. They were lacy , light, and delicious. Mom got a veggie omelette, and her potatoes on the side were irresistible. I had to have a couple. Even her sourdough toast was so good that she commented on it. Last time, I had the chilaquiles, and they were excellent. Highly recommend this place for your morning or afternoon meal. P.S. They have cafe de olla (with cinnamon and Mexican brown sugar), served in a little Mexican jug!

Yall this place is 20/10 delicious. The service was super amazing and friendly. The churro waffle is a must have for everyone to try when going in!! Prices are great and the vibes of the restaurant are great. Their horchata was delicious as well and the food came out super fast. Shout out Liz Jennifer and Joshua for being amazing servers and staying on top of everything! I'll definitely be back with my family and friends!

Chilaquiles w/Carne Asada

Came here cause we were in the area for lunch. I got the short rib tacos. It was filled with lots of meat! It was really good and filling! It came with homemade chips and salsa. My husband got the blueberry French toast which at first he thought it was a mistake, but after trying it, it was really good! It was like a bread pudding bread and pan fried with something to make it crunchy topped with fresh blueberries. It was actually really good! We were told the chilaquiles were very popular. Our friend said it was really good. She said the Carne asada was very tender. Our other friend had the ahi bowl. She said it was good. All-in-all this place is pretty good! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

Service was very friendly and accommodating. They were very busy and backed up when we arrived but they did their best and the service was much appreciated. The food was so so for Mexican but overall not bad. Would come back to try other menu items. The chips were good!

Really good

It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

FACILITY: Small, limited seating indoors with very nice, fun, outdoor seating areas. Love this place. MENU: Simple, easy to understand, great photos online if you have any questions. FOOD PREP: Very well done, like professional in just how it looks. FOOD QUALITY: Professional in how it also tastes... Watermelon Gazpacho was perfect with drinks prior to main. LIBATIONS: drinks and bartender were excellent, fun, and the photo print was very cool. WAITSTAFF: just so nice, and fun making the experience all that much better. OVERALL VALUE: Good, but it is Palm Springs, outdoors, great locations, classy.. no, not inexpensive but well worth it. TIP: I'd say be nice, be patient, and you will get a table. Don't be an angry rude touron, we don't need that vibe and we see some of that in PS.. You can try for reservations, not sure if they take off season.

While the food was great, the service disappointed me greatly. When we were seated we were asked for drink orders and when we said we needed a second to decide our server left. this normally wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that she left us for around 30 minutes. when she came back we decided it would be easier to order it all at once. it then took another 30 minutes to get our drinks, and even more time for our food. When appetizers came out all of us were shocked that we did not receive plates. She brought them over later, but by that time we were finished with our appetizer. Our original seafood plan fell through (fully booked, of course, because that's how these things go), so we pivoted last minute. Expectations were...moderate. What we got? A full-on flavor win. First things first: the coconut shrimp. Order it. Don't discuss it. Just do it. Crispy, sweet, a little tropical magic--gone way too fast. Then came the blackened mahi mahi tacos...wow. The kind of "close your eyes mid-bite" good. And the crab cakes? I actually felt a little emotional taking that last bite. No shame. The real plot twist, though? The kids. Our notoriously picky eaters didn't just tolerate the food--they enjoyed it. Like, voluntarily ate it. Parents, you know how rare that is. The vibe struck that sweet spot too--dimly lit and relaxed, with a breezy island feel that somehow still worked for a family night out. I was half expecting to feel out of place with kids in tow, but it couldn't have been more welcoming. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience easy. So yeah, what started as a backup plan turned into one of those unexpectedly great nights. Safe to say we'll be back--this time on purpose.

Someone in our group got a margherita pizza and I ordered the "Figgy Piggy" which was a cauliflower crust pizza with prosciutto, fig jam, punchy feta cheese with a great sauce. It was thin, crispy, yet soft and flavorful. My Mom loved her margherita pizza and we both took half a pizza home each because of how large they were.
