When we walked in Flora came over and asked if our dog was a service dog? We responded by "yes, we have the certificate and card for him?" She kindly said, no. I appreciated her response, because that is the correct response to give and she saw his service dog collar. There was a customer that questioned her, what type of service my dog provides. That isn't any of his business and she handled it professionally and I am proud of her. This was my family's first visit to the restaurant and it will continue to be one of our favorites and we will be repeat customers. Came into town and found this place and do not let the people in line discourage you. We were told wait time would be 35 mins but we were sat sooner. Unlimited cafe de olla, so good, yes even on a hot day. The cluck burger really flavorful and the meat was cooked nicely. I had a bite of my friends mac and cheese with bacon and topped with scramble eggs. Pancakes was ok to me, didn't taste much of the buttermilk fluffiness. Perhaps we're just spoiled from our experiences in San Diego, but this Breakfast Republic wasn't as good as we've come to expect. The service was friendly enough. But we were told we could sit at the bar then quickly got moved because my daughter isn't 21. That's never happened at a family restaurant in CA to us before. But ok. At least they sat us immediately at a two top. But once sat our server was just ok. I love BR's bottomless cafe de olla. This one was good. We ordered a benedict, coffee cake, and chilaquiles. The Benedict was ok. Eggs weren't super runny a little harder than we like. The potatoes looked dry and super plain almost free hotel breakfast style potatoes if you know what I mean. My chilaquiles were good. But the coffee cake was something to pass on. It was flat and dry. I took a couple small forks of the streusel from the top and left the rest. Disappointing. I don't know if it's just the miserable heat of Palm Desert in June or because the restaurant was packed but it wasn't the coolest temp in there. I'm going to dream about the vegan tres leches pancakes for eternity . Melt in your mouth & hands down the best I've EVER HAD! The veggie frittata was also noteworthy and totally plant based . They have a great vegan menu & even served on separate "vegan " logo'd dishes . Loved that ! Hubby chose a Portuguese breakfast and said it was phenomenally great as well. Came here at the peak of busy and the staff were professional and kind. We were lucky to snag a spot at the counter instead of waiting 30 minutes. This is probably one of the best breakfast experiences I've had in a long time! Flora the hostess was awesome greeting me as soon as I walked in. This place was a hit. Their breakfast is awesome and decent sized portions. They also offer bottomless cafe de olla which is awesome. I definitely partook in that. I had the BR Sammie which was delicious. My cousin also offered to let me try her breakfast burrito and it had a lot of flavor. You can even share it with another person due to its size. I'm glad to know there is a location on closer to me and will be going back. The service was also good. We had only visited this establishment under the old name. Today we had to get a set of new tires across the street, so we sauntered over. We were seated immediately and looked over the menu while discussing other things. I ordered the Portuguese Linguiça Omelet that came with potatoes and my option of English Muffin. My wife requested the Chilaquiles, which were accompanied by Black Beans & Mexican Rice. The plates were MONSTROUS, yes there were to go boxes needed. My dish was amazing and I could not finish the potatoes. My wife finished most of the Chilaquiles, but she does prefer refried beans. This place never fails to put a smile on my face! From Flora (the hostess with the mostest) to our server Thilia the service is always top notch and friendly. Alex and the kitchen staff make sure my food is always delicious, and even the bussers are kind (while dealing with having to speed clean tables). However when you take a bite it's just missing what makes is delicious. The bacon was floppy... this is candied bacon that wasn't cooked enough for the sugars to caramelize at all. The avocado toast was fine but not special, the French toast lacked any sign of being dipped in an egg batter. The carb and crawfish patties on the Benedict were not good.
