Came here early Saturday morning, my wife found this restaurant on yelp and thought we should give it a try. Service was quick and friendly. Food was fairly good. My wife got scrambled eggs with some hash browns and toast. I got a breakfast burrito with carne asada. The carne asada is the way to go for the breakfast burrito. We always try to find new restaurants to add to our Palm Desert rotation, and this is a contender. We arrived around 10 on a Tuesday and were seated right away, but it took awhile to get our food. There were a lot of breakfast options, from specialty pancakes and waffles to unique omelets and Mexicandishes like Chilaquiles. I got the Biancasada omelet, which has carne asada, peppers, onions and cheese. It is served with your choice of side (I got potato wedges) and bread (I subbed the grilled peach specialty pancake). The omelet was ok...the carne asada wasn't great and the other ingredients could have been cooked more. The wedges were good, but I didn't like the grilled peach pancake as much as I thought I would and wished I would have got the lemon blueberry. Portions were big, and I took half to go. Hubby got the chorizo con papas omelet with hash browns cooked extra crispy and a buttermilk pancake. The omelet was really good, and the hash browns were cooked well. The pancake was a pancake. They only have Pepsi products, so I went with water, which they refilled well. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they had Hawaiian music playing. I'd come back to try lunch. This place was delicious. I had ordered the green chilaquiles which were good. We also tasted the churro French toast to share and that was also a hit. The service was good. Had a late breakfast today at Paradise Cove Cafe. The place is small, and old, with some paint peeling off on the wall beside our booth, but appeared clean. Our server was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Biancasada Omelette with a pancake, and my husband had the Chicken Fried Steak. My omelette was good as far as the flavor goes, but unfortunately the carne asada was pretty tough and chewy. Everything else was good. My husband said the best part of his breakfast were the hash browns because he felt the beef they used on his chicken fried steak was not good quality. Overall, it would've been better if the meat had been tender in both of our breakfast, but it wasn't bad. read more

Fantastic restaurant tucked away in a corner, nonetheless we found it to be pleasant & joyous, because the staff is amazing & cheerful. We had a wonderful delicious breakfast and our cup of coffee never ran out on this perfect Sunday morning. I noticed that it was dog friendly out in the patio a major plus! You can sit in or out in the cozy patio, with plenty of greenery for your enjoyment of ambiance. Came in for breakfast around 10:20am on a Sunday. We weren't seated until about 11:00, and with no indoor waiting area, we had to wait outside in the heat--which was pretty rough. Once we were seated, it took about an hour to get our food. Our server let us know the kitchen was backed up, and they did offer a complimentary beverage, which was appreciated. Despite the long wait, the staff was super friendly and the food was really good. I was so hungry by the time it arrived that I forgot to take a picture! I had a cheese omelette, home fries, and a biscuit with gravy--everything came out hot and tasty. The caramel cold brew was also delicious. We were heading back to Orange County and had items in the car that weren't meant to be sitting in the heat for that long, so that part was a bit stressful. Still, I have a feeling they may have been short-staffed in the kitchen. I'll definitely give it another try next time I'm in the desert because the food was good. It's taken me a couple of days to figure out how to calmly explain the horrible experience we had at Paradise Cove. We sat outside and I would say inside and out were about 1/3 full. It took awhile for a server to take our order. Simple order: Pancakes, bacon and a grill cheese sandwich. We also had a coffee and ice tea. We waited and waited and checked in with our server 3 times to see what was taking so long. Also the response was it's almost ready. Another couple came and sat near us about 10 minutes after we ordered. They had received their food and were just about done...it was 1/2 hour and my husband went inside to tell the server we had waited long enough and we were leaving. As we left to the parking lot we heard a man behind us calling out "mam". We stopped and he approached saying we left without paying for our drinks. I thought he was kidding he said no he wasn't and we must pay. After all the time we wasted I would have expected that he (being the owner) was coming to apologize but instead he wanted $10 for the coffee and tea. What an insult!!!! I would have expected at any other place they would have at the very least taken care of the drinks as a jester of good will, instead he added insult to injury. Never again Paradise Cove. read more

I ordered the Carne Asada omelet and while it looked good it was just Meh! The green bell peppers in it were hard as a rock, minimal onions, overall lacking in flavor. Hubby ordered the chorizo plate but got the chorizo burrito instead. Trust me, this place does not do Mexican, not very good at all and the refried beans were terrible. Very pricey place for so so food at best. I will say this, they have a huge outdoor patio, which would have been nice if we had not inundated with flies as soon as our food came out. Wow. Absolutely amazing brunch. We got the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken and Waffles, and the full order of biscuits. The chicken was crispy, just the right amount of heat, and so juicy on the inside. The waffle was made to perfection. The biscuits were very well made and not too dry, the gravy had an amazing homemade flavor. Overall food was great. Would definitely return. To say our experience at this cafe was great is an understatement. My girlfriends and I were in Palm Springs for the weekend on a mother's Day getaway and stumbled up across this café, while en route to Trader Joe's. Not only was the food incredible, but the service was beyond anything we could have asked for. Our waitress, Jahlynn, was the most kind and patient young woman we have interacted with at a restaurant in quite some time. Steve, the owner, insured that anything we needed we were able to get. Interacting with the staff and the owners was probably par to how great the food was!! They made us feel like we were the most important people at the café, and we didn't go without anything! Came in on a Saturday 10/19 @ around 10:30am, party of 3. We waited 10/15min to be seated. It was a busy day and the staff seemed very overwhelmed, starting with the hosts/server. Our experience here was eventful and we definitely will not be returning. We not only waited over an hour for our food but had to witness our server mistreat an elderly table of 4. She spoke poorly to one of the senior gentleman who got up to complain about the wait time and service, she shoved her finger in his face and proceeded to bad mouth him in Spanish. So unprofessional. This is a smallish cafe restaurant, with bsdic tables, chairs and booths, with a seaside kinda decor and a small patio set in a mini mall. This is a cafe, but not anything different or unique or with a theme. They are known for pancakes apparently...and this might be true, but from the salad and basic burger we ordered, they obviously are skimping on all the other meals. I ordered the Santa Fe Salad, which was a full entrée. For a $17 salad, I received 2oz of chicken, approximately 2 tablespoons of black beans and corresponding corn and diced tomatoes. The rest, was lettuce. There was a very small ramekin with a spicy "dressing", and, that was it. Are you kidding me? I finally asked the server if I was given a side salad, she said she had to ask the cook. Look, I can appreciate mini plates that are pricey, especially if it's different or unique, an expensive ingredient OR just for the ambiance...however this is a small basic place overcharging for, nothing. The burger was ok. The fries were ok. The salad was supposed to be a meal and ended up being tiny. Waste of money. BTW, when leaving I walked by a server on break eating a salad, and it was 3X the size I received, topped with a bevy of chicken and avocado and more. No lie! Came here because I looked chicken and waffles and there were a few ratings that they were good. WRONG! The chicken did have a decent crunch to it, but it lacked flavor and I have to say it was rather dry. The waffles had a taste of something you would buy in the frozen section of your supermarket. The service was good I have to say, the waitresses were friendly and attentive. The place was clean and had its steady stream of customers, I would say locals. My group of 8 waited 80 minutes to receive no food. It took 20 minutes for someone to ask if we were ready to order, only half our waters were delivered before we were finally visited by someone and could request the rest, and there was never any update about the status of our order. The restaurant wasn't half full. Other tickets were placed ahead of ours by the manager (a server informed us), and the staff never shared with us or other guests entering (prior to being seated) that the kitchen was significantly behind. We checked in twice about the status of our order before deciding to leave. We'd have asked more times, but the staff did an excellent job of avoiding our table. The attitude given in the response we received from our server would make one think we were in the wrong from deciding to leave after waiting 80 minutes and receiving only water, coffee, and three cocktails. Returned for breakfast. Gamechanger indeed! The daily special lemon blueberry pancakes were incredible, some of the best pancakes I've ever had. My husband's corned beef hash & eggs were perfect. Coffee is outstanding. Very busy on Sunday morning but they have beepers ("they gave Dude a beeper") and the wait wasn't long. Sat on the patiio, lovely experience. Food: this review is mostly based on food that I ate. I had the chicken and the waffles. but it was more like chicken and half of a waffle I was surprised they had bone in chicken not tenders so I definitely had to try it. unfortunately, the chicken tasted like it was out of those budget TV dinners that my grandma used to give me when I was younger. LEMON BLUEBERRY PANCAKES!!! First time in palm springs and on our way out we found this spot for breakfast and i wish we found this place first so that we could enjoy it again. They were busy that day so the wait was noticeable but the staff made effort to be as efficient as possible which was much appreciated. We went family style with the lemon blueberry pancakes, home fries, socal omelette and the belgian waffles.
