We were super excited to come to Broken Yolk because we had just tried our first one a couple weekends ago in Vegas and it was SO bomb. So naturally, we came into this location expecting the same kind of experience, and unfortunately...it was like night and day. First, I will say the service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly, our servers were great, and the manager was really cool and took the time to talk with me and explain how they do things. Honestly, the service is what saved this review and brought it up to three stars. The food, though... It was just not good. Everything looked kind of meh when it came out (as you can see in the pictures), and the flavor matched. I can't even remember exactly what we ordered but I remember my husband and I looking at each other like, "Wait...is this the same chain?!" It was such a completely different experience from the Broken Yolk we had in Vegas. Even the atmosphere felt different. The music was good, but instead of that fun, brunchy vibe we were expecting, this location felt much more like a traditional diner. And then there was my Bloody Mary flight. I specifically ordered it again because the one we had at the other location was SOOO good. This one was just...not. I don't know if they use a different mix at each location or make their own, but whatever the difference was, it was noticeable. I really wanted to love this place because our first Broken Yolk experience was so good, but unfortunately the food here was just really disappointing. If I were rating on food alone, I'd honestly probably give it two stars, but the service was genuinely great, so I'm being generous with three. Tried this spot for the first time! We live in Indio, but never made it here. The place was packed on a Wednesday for breakfast. Our server was nice and gave us some highlights of the menu. Started with OJ and a Mocha, OJ large glass and the Mocha nice and hot. Ordered the French Toast, which came with fresh strawberries and the Meat Lovers omelette. Both good and nice size portions. Pricing very good for the portions. The server gave me a flyer to sign up for their free rewards program, which we did right there from our cell phone and on our next visit, we get a free short stack of pancakes! I went to The Broken Yolk Cafe over the weekend in Palm Springs, and it did not disappoint. Their menu is packed with a variety of creative and delicious breakfast options, so we ended up ordering a few different plates to share. The chicken and waffles were incredible--the spicy seasoning on the chicken paired perfectly with the sweetness of the waffle. The eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection, and the pancakes were just as impressive--fluffy and full of flavor. We stopped by Broken Yolk Cafe in Palm Desert for breakfast and found the experience to be just okay overall. Allisha was our server, and she was very pleasant throughout the meal. We appreciated that she never made us feel rushed and allowed us to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The downside was that there was a fairly long wait for our food to arrive. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Eggs Benedict. I substituted bacon for the carne asada, and the poblano hollandaise added a nice kick of flavor that made the dish stand out. Unfortunately, the Monte Cristo was pretty plain and underwhelming. It lacked the rich, indulgent flavors that make this sandwich memorable. While there were a few bright spots, the long wait and mixed food quality left us feeling that the experience was average overall. read more

Staff were super pleasant, from the hostess to the waitress all great! Food was enjoyed by all. Above average and very fresh. The main issue was the temperature of the items. They came out closer to lukewarm rather than nice and piping hot. The pancakes would have been much better hot. Even the butter didn't melt on them since they were so cold. Food was ok. I'm a huge fan of Broken Yolk, but in fairness I arrived 45 minutes before closing. Took a bit of time to get seated even though we were the only ones. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with Eggs. My husband selected a biscuit with gravy and home fries for his side. I ordered the Huevos con Chorizo and chose a flour tortilla. I didn't realize it was one burrito sized tortilla haha. I also ordered myself a biscuit on the side. With some of the food (rice, home fries) we could taste it was sitting around. We ordered 1 Strawberry Banana Smoothie, Caramel Latte Iced, Caramel Latte Iced with Oat Milk, Pineapple Matcha, Cold Brew . Lorena asked if we had any questions and we did, she answered them beautifully! We ordered egg white eggs Benedict with home fries , Classic Avocado Toast Vegan Eggs, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Betty's Southern Biscuit & Gravy, Chicken Tenders, Hash brown, Golden Benedict, Poached Med Hash Skillet, Scrambled Whites Salmon Avo Toast. Went to this restraunt with my Father, Step-Mother, Wife and myself. My Father has been here, but this our first time. All in all, I would definitely say give this place a try for breakfast if you're in the area. The portions are definitely enough and the customer service is very good. I want to commend the bus-boy (Older gentleman latino) that was on with us the moment we sat down, getting us coffee, waters, etc. He was sure to always check in on us. To the management, you are missing out by not making him a waiter. Our waiter did show up, took our order, was friendly and professional. His name was "Oscar". Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning during stagecoach weekend with a friend. I added my name to the waitlist on the Yelp app and it said the wait time was 20-40 minutes. We arrived 35 minutes later and there was a handful of people waiting. The restaurant wasn't that busy but it took an hour to get seated... the staff were polite and thanked us for waiting so I did appreciate that. Once we got seated, we ordered right away but didn't get our drinks until 20 minutes later. We order the mimosa flight which was good. I ordered the wellness wrap with turkey sausage and it was alright but it didn't have much flavor. I usually do not give a 1 star review....but... I've been to Broken Yolk several times in Orange County and decided to try out the one in La Quinta.. ONE AND DONE. 1. Joined the online waitlist. Pointless. Still waited over 20 minutes even though online line I was next up. Was asked to sit on the patio on an over 90 degree day. No thanks. Waited another 10 minuets. Manager sat us.. in a tiny corner hidden away and forgotten.. literialy. Told me not to worry he would let my server Lily know. I had to wave down a server and tell him we were forgotten. Finally Lily found us told me no one told her she had our table. I did ask her to move us and she did. She was very nice but obviously overwhelmed. 2. Food.... after waiting another 30-40 minutes for food. My husband was served a bloody burger with raw bacon. He asked for it medium well. It was sent back. I got a skillet, spicy and very small portion. I was NOT HAPPY especially with the manager. Thanks for all the apologies, but I will NEVER return to this place again. We definitely enjoyed walking in here because Victor, the manager acknowledged us with a smile and a wave right away,even though he was not close to the entrance to let us know he would be right with us. He then gave us some great recommendations and told us Alicia would be right with us. Alicia was also great and gave us great recommendations and answered all our questions. Food did take a minute yet once it arrived it was good. I had the 1/2 Sope Benedict - 1/2 Golden Benedict. Both had good flavor and it was great that I was able to taste two different ones since I couldn't choose which one I wanted. My Love ordered the Croissant Breafast Sandwich and he really enjoyed it as well. They were both good size portions. Great: My perfect poached eggs on the benny and the delicious hollandaise that came out piping hot. Yippee! Excellent service from the kind and attentive Oscar. Not so great: My friend's $9 (!!) smoothie was mostly ice chunks. He's too sweet to complain. Asked for potatoes crispy, came out barely cooked and cold-ish. They did fix it, which I appreciated. But why stacking chairs on tables (to close up) right next to us, well before closing time? Super distracting, claustrophobic and doesn't make for a chill meal/hang. Oh well. read more
