After a really warm morning at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens good deli sandwich. My son found Deli Chick on Yelp, so we headed over. It's tucked in a nondescript office park with plenty of parking. They were busy when we arrived, so we had a short wait, which told me it's a popular spot. I ordered the California sandwich: turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and sprouts on sourdough, with added cheddar, mustard, and jalapenos ($14.95 plus $1.50 for the cheddar). It was fantastic. My son ordered the same with a few tweaks and loved his as well. My wife went for a hot sandwich, and by the time we got back to our lodging it had melted through the bread and was a little messy. She was lukewarm about it, so I had to tease her: "To-go hot sandwiches turn into a hot mess, poor decision." She appreciated my annoying comment and happily snagged a bite of my delicious sandwich, lol. Great sandwiches, friendly vibe, and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Grilled Sourdough - eggs, bacon, ham, melted cheese, and chipotle aioli on sourdough. Yummy and inexpensive. Bagel with cream cheese and lox (2). Solid. If you care more about value and satisfaction than vibes, this is your spot. This experience was a refreshing change especially compared (breakfast v breakfast) to a recent meal we had that cost more than twice as much which was at an overpriced, underwhelming, big-name franchise. Was visiting Palm Springs & was looking for a quick breakfast. My lox bagel was pretty delicious. Bagel was soft, flavorful and lox was fishy (how I like it). Would have gotten a second one if I could . Got a latte but I'd skip next time and get a second sandwich. Ordered a cheese n bacon bagel for my partner who said it was also pretty good. My husband and I stopped at Deli Chick today for an early lunch. The place is tucked away in a quiet strip mall, so it may be easy to miss. Once inside, the place was clean, and the friendly employees were hustling the whole time. My husband ordered the El Pastrami sandwich and I had the Deli Chick Tuna. He asked for the potato salad for a side and I went with the pasta salad side. My husband really liked his sandwich, but his only complaint was that it was kind of small. He ate it all anyway. My tuna sandwich was SO good! I don't think I've ever taken home a leftover tuna sandwich, but I did today. The sandwich was loaded with tasty fresh tuna, avocado and bacon. I had asked for a pasta salad as my side, but they first brought out a potato salad by mistake. When the employee quickly realized this she brought out a pasta salad, but told me to keep the potato salad as well. Lucky for me this meant I got to try both! The pasta salad was good, but the potato salad was the perfect potato salad. Simple, creamy and not loaded with mayo. Both my husband and I agreed it was one of the best potato salads we've had. Since I tend to go to the same places all the time when I come to Palm Desert, I wanted to try something different this time around. Found It's A Deli after doing some research. Can't go wrong with sandwiches! Although the options on the regular menu were certainly enticing, I couldn't pass on a Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. Really good, had fresh ingredients and was the right amount of food for what I was looking for (i.e., not getting too full). Yelp check-in also netted me a free blueberry muffin, which was quite tasty. Staff here are really friendly, no complaints from me! Only thing that I have to note is that it took a while for the food to be ready, but I guess that's what happens when everyone is made-to-order. I am so very grateful to the Deli Chick for their exceptional catering they provided for my dad's funeral service. They showed so much care in every detail that went into catering for us. I loved how seamless everything was from what we wanted on the sandwiches, to how we wanted them cut, to how many we would need to feed for 100 people. A friend of mine suggested we meet here for lunch and I am SO glad she did! The food was wonderful -- the best Reuben sandwich I've had in a LONG time! Puts Manhattan of the Desert to shame, and for a lot less money! The staff are friendly and efficient, too. They are located in the office complex at Cook and Highway 111 in Indian Wells, and they've done a very good job at making it comfortable. I'm sure 90% of their business is takeout from the local businesses, but there's plenty of seating if the office workers want to get out and stretch their legs. Sandwich competition is fierce in CV but Deli Chick is a serious contender! Not sure how this gem escaped my attention. Possibly the tucked-among-a -small-business-park-sort-of-hidden-location? The location is actually a plus as it's super easy to get in and out of, not crowded, tons of door front parking, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and even a pretty view of the Santa Rosas. The cheerful greetings from the staff made a great first impression. (I was recently at another sandwich shop down the road and felt the need to apologize for walking through their door). Among the friendly staff at Deli Chick was Tamara, the owner who made me feel like she opened the place just for me! Of course that wasn't the case as the returning customers were also greeted with the same warmness and appreciation. Also on staff were Ivan and Adam who were equaling welcoming and obviously enjoying their work. There were so many great sandwich options and Tamara was patiently walking me through them. I settled on the Hot Pastrami but opted for a glow up adding green chiles and having it on marbled rye. So delicious!!! The perfect ratio of meat, bread and veggies. Well done Chef! I chose pasta salad for my side which was a fun surprise. It came packed full of crunchy little colorful veggies and tender pasta (not undercooked which I don't get why some places can't cook a simple pasta). The sandwich was definitely large enough to share or to save half for later. But because of how yummy it was I left nothing. When I recover from stuffing myself I'll be back to try another one of their delicious sandwich creations. read more
