I ordered the Daniel's Best sandwich on rosemary bread. It was so fresh and delicious. I plan to return the next time I'm in the area. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the expensive price. The shop was cutely decorated, the sandwich was delicious, and the staff were very kind, helpful, and welcoming, but I wouldn't be able to afford the sandwiches there frequently. read more

The Lunch Spot was frequently recommended by others so I was excited to try it. Staff were friendly. I ordered two sandwiches. The #14 The House,,and #11 Love the Club. I especially enjoyed the #14 The House. It's a house-made chicken salad with nuts and cranberries and comes with sprouts, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper on Squaw Bread. The cranberries adds a mild sweetness which balances out the mayo and the nuts adds another layer of crunchy texture and flavor which I loved. If I were to be honest, I wasn't too crazy about their bread. On both sandwiches, it was soft which was good, yet at the same time, just a bit stale. While the sandwiches initially seemed loaded, most of the ingredients are right in the middle of the sandwich where they slice it in half, so while it's very visually appealing, there's basically a ring near the crust of the bread that didn't have much toppings. As far as the Love The Club sandwich. I think they are a bit heavy handed with the salt. The sandwich was too salty. At $33 for two sandwiches, it's also a tad bit pricey. Overall good experience and will be back to try more ! read more

We stopped by here for lunch and we are SO thankful we did. We found this fantastic spot by asking Chat GPT best lunch restaurants in the area. The vibe is casual and welcoming. We beat the lunch rush (got there a little before 12:00) and it just got busier and busier. You order at the counter and the guy that helped us was friendly and gave great suggestions. There were so many great options on their menu that we had a hard time deciding on what to order. Their special sold out right after we ordered which was a tri-tip sandwich. Normally on vacation we don't eat at the same place twice so we can try more places, but if we were to make an exception it would be for this place. My kids each got the grilled cheese sandwiches which they got to choose their chip option and it comes with a capri sun as well. I ended up deciding on the Ashlee's sandwich and it was very yummy. My hubby got the strawberry sunflower salad and added chicken. He really enjoyed his salad and found it filling too. Overall I highly recommend checking out this place for lunch when in the area. read more

Came here for a quick lunch! The service was friendly and fast. We got the spicy avo salad which had the most delicious dressing, in addition to a good heaping of fresh veggies and alfalfa. The sandwich was "Daniel's best" which was also decadent and filling. The interior was cute and cozy, like an old timey deli. Would recommend for a quick bite! This place was AMAZING! My family and I were in town for a family wedding, and so we flew into PSP in the morning. After exploring the area in the morning, we wanted a late lunch before checking into our Airbnb in Palm desert. I stumbled upon this place in my search for some healthy food & we decided to try it. The inside seating is really small, but we got lucky and were able to find a table for 4. It's an order at the front & pick up type of spot. Since we were starving, we ordered with our stomachs: 1 strawberry sunflower salad without meat & nuts, 1 spicy avocado salad, 1 potato salad, 1 blueberry lemonade, and 1 CEO sandwich. Everything was OUTSTANDING!! The service down to the food. We loved it so much that we ordered the same meal 2 days later for lunch again. Order pickup if you can instead of delivery so you can double check that they actually got your order right. My sandwich, The Hottie, is almost $20 and of course they left off one of the most expensive parts of the sandwich which is the layer of avocado... the bread is also advertised as a delicious sounding jalapeño bread but it just tasted like any type of bland bread. This is something you can make way better at home. read more

My colleague and I arrived around 2:00 p.m. today and decided to try this highly rated lunch spot. I ordered the special, a BLTA sandwich with chips and a drink for $15 which was an excellent value. The sandwich was good and fresh prepared quickly, and the service was efficient. The restaurant itself is small and located in an industrial area, but it's nicely decorated, quaint, and very clean. You place your order at the counter, and they call your name when it's ready. Overall, a pleasant experience and a great choice for a quick lunch. read more

Yelp you never disappoint! Thanks to the recommendations of my fellow Yelpers, we ventured out of our usual delis and found The Lunch Spot. Don't let its industrial location keep you from coming to this casual, family owned deli, because you will miss out on the "bougiest" sandwiches, soups and salads in town! We were here on 11/1/25 and split the chicken and veggie soup, Strawberry w/Blueberry salad and the Hottie chicken Sandwich. The soup was hearty with lots of shredded chicken and veggies. I would love a bowl of this any day! We ordered the strawberry and blueberry salad- with fresh greens, pecans, cranberries, red onion feta cheese and a balsamic dressing. This was amazing, fresh, and an excellent accomplishment to the sandwhich. Speaking of the sandwhich- I think this just may be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! We ordered and shared "The Hottie" and you can think of it as the spicy version of your chicken salad sandwich. We had it on Squaw bread and it was maybe 2 inches thick thanks to the generous amount of chicken, alfalfa and avocado. If you like spicy and a bit of a kick- order this! Wow! The Lunch Spot definitely had the feeling of being a local secret treasure since it is tucked in an industrial warehousing area. Don't let the location or size fool you, however. The front entrance is charming with its limited outdoor seating and sandwich board. Inside is quant and cozy. You'll order at the window and then find a seat. The food was super fresh! It was definitely representative of California fare. The service was incredibly helpful when it came to choosing the perfect meal. I finally settled on the seasonal Berry salad while my hubby chose the honey ham panini. We both washed it down with the blueberry lemonade. If you're in the Palm Desert area on vacation or just a round of golf, work this one into your schedule. You won't be disappointed. read more

With all of the stellar reviews, expectations were high! Got there at 2:15 pm on a Wednesday and ordered the #5 Daniel without bacon. Unfortunately they were out of sprouts (boo) so they subbed lettuce and also cucumber for the bacon. Ingredients were really fresh and delicious. Sandwich was really good, but not great. The bread was a little heavy for the sandwich and I kept pulling away the crust and throwing it away. Sandwich was $16, which is pretty standard now. Service was friendly and efficient. Cute place through I got mine to go. Pretty easy parking in their lot and the area is fine. read more

My hubby brought us home this for lunch today and it did not disappoint. We went by last Saturday but did not realize they are closed on the weekends and during the week they close at 3pm, that's the only bummer. But the Love club sandwich was so gooood! That garlic aioli just brings all the flavors to this sandwich, my favorite!! Daniel's best sandwich was also really good. The sandwiches are fresh, well made & packed down with plenty of meat. I live really close by and found myself walking by after dropping off my car for service right around the corner. Problem was, it was only 8:45am. Saw an employee walking in and he told, me in a very welcoming way, that they open at 9am, and have amazing breakfast specials, as well. Before they opened, I looked up Yelp reviews, and saw the menu. I already had a lunch sandwich in mind. But, once they opened, I checked out the Breakfast blackboard, and I zeroed right in on the Breakfast Panini. Anything on sourdough, with avocado, is my favorite. The bacon was so perfectly crispy, and the pepper Jack cheese gave it a kick. Super friendly service, delicious food, and good coffee, what more could you ask for in the morning? Searched "best lunch in Palm Desert" on Yelp and this spot popped up -- so glad it did! Tucked away in a business park, it's easy to miss, but totally worth the find. One of my coworkers had the chicken feta salad, and it looked amazing. Another had the chicken salad on squaw bread and raved about it. I went with the turkey and sprouts Panini Prest, and it was lights out good. Everything is super fresh and clearly made to order, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait -- but it's well worth it. The staff was really friendly, and the vibe is low-key with some quirky patio furniture if you want to eat outside or you can dine in. We love coming to The Brown Bag for their fresh sandwiches. It's a really small place tucked surrounded by a whole bunch of businesses. But I tell you, the customer service is great and the food is delicious. My favorite is the Italian sandwich. However, their salads are good too. It's a turkey sandwich, with red onion, pickle, avocado, lettuce, paperback cheese, garlic aioli on toasted rosemary bread. It was absolutely delicious. The staff was very nice. This was my 2nd time here, first time with the husband. Cute spot with very friendly staff. Excellent lunch menu consisting of creative sandwiches, soups and salads. First time here I had The Hottie and it was delicious. The chicken salad was creamy and flavorful and the sandwich had a nice heated finish. Yesterday we split the special which was thin-sliced tri-tip and we were in Sammy heaven. They even split it for us so that we each had our own basket and cup of au jus for dipping. This is a very small hole in the wall. It has a few seats outside and six tables inside you order the counter and pick it up at the counter. The Service was friendly and professional in the turkey bacon ranch sandwich I got was delicious as well as the potato salad I bought on the side. When I got here about a half hour before closing, there was only one seat left the other sandwiches that would buy me look delicious. Locally owned by husband-and-wife team Ashlee & Evan, we serve fresh, homemade soups, sauces, and sandwiches with recipes rooted in family tradition. With a cozy, family-friendly vibe, we bring comfort food made with love to the Coachella Valley.

Established in 2020.

Our story began in 2020, when Ashlee turned her lifelong passion for cooking into something bigger. With the support of her husband, Evan, we opened our restaurant right here in the Coachella Valley, the place where we were both born and raised. What started as a dream during the challenges of COVID quickly became a cozy spot where locals could enjoy fresh, homemade food that feels like family. Ashlee brings her love for cooking into every dish, from soups and sauces made in-house daily to sandwiches crafted with fresh local bread, while Evan brings the warmth out front, making every guest feel welcome. Many of our recipes are rooted in family tradition, like Ashlee’s mama’s potato salad, her dad’s pasta salad, and sandwiches named after loved ones,because for us, food is more than a meal, it’s a piece of home.

I'd even go as far as saying that the food here makes all of the above worthwhile. The restaurant has a car park to the rear and limited street parking in front. The interior has a lovely ambiance, quietly refined by subtle lighting and a gentle arboreal theme. I've seen it busy and our party has also had the place to ourselves on late visits, but I'd definitely recommend a reservation just in case especially with a larger party. The staff provide attentive and genuinely caring service, and the portion sizes are substantial and easily justify the more-than-reasonable cost. The food itself though is the reason this place is always a highlight reel spot for me. Every dish is a feast for the eyes as well as the palette, beautifully presented and packed with flavor. My personal go-to is the perfectly seasoned and healthy Harvest Salad, usually with an added protein (the blackened chicken adds a real flavor kick and the variety in texture that I love in great food). Fortunately my partner happily defaults to the opulent and delightful Lobster Lasagna, as I'd be loath to miss out on a bite or three of that too. Appetizer-wise, I'm yet to regret any soup-of-the-day choice. The Zucchini last night was... well... yep, perfect is no overstatement. Sweet Basil is an absolute gem, and a must-visit for any visitor here. Their food is fresh, plentiful when it comes to serving size and ingredients (see the attached photo of the sandwich I got) and their service is prompt and attentive. We did not get any baked goods, but they also sure looked good as we walked by the display on the way out. It has a comfortable, open and well lit atmosphere. We are very glad we decided to stay.
