Veg friendly, fabulous environment, staff, libations. Fairly priced, always a pleasure. Dog friendly, multiple menu options. Four of us shared a giant pretzel, we had beer, a Bloody Mary, wine, an NA and a regular cocktail. For food we had a simple salad, French scramble, Brussels Sprouts and an artichoke and couldn't finish it all. Lovely experience as always!

It is always a pleasure to dine at Eight4Nine. The staff are amazing and beautiful. Service is fantastic. The food is always top shelf. You can't go wrong here. The building is large, bright, and nicely decorated. Its history is interesting. I was told that first it was the US Post Office. Then a furniture store. For the last ten-plus years, it has been Eight4Nine. Tonight, I started with the Ahi Tuna Poke. It was really fresh with a nice blend of Asian flavors. Nicely chilled, it was perfect for a hot night. My entree was the delicious Carne Asada. The skirt steak was sliced thin and it had a smokey hardwood grilled flavor to it. The refried pinto beans were a nice complement to the meal. My wine, a Chenin Blanc was crisp and fruity also perfect for a hot weather night. Eight4Nine is a great addition to the many delicious restaurants in Palm Springs.

Bartenders Marco and Ixta are fantastic. Marco was on the clock when we arrived and he was great. We he clocked out Ixta took over serving us. She made some food recommendations and we settled on the guacamole and chips and the ahi poke bowl. The best we ever had. It's a really cute restaurant with a warm, comfortable vibe.

Stopped by Eight4Nine on a Saturday morning for brunch. The service was attentive, and all the food we ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend ordering the cinnamon roll basket for the table to share, the chiffon frosting was light, airy, and delicious. The gentleman at the hostess stand at the entrance was super sweet and took multiple pictures for us.

I've been to Eight4Nine countless times over the years for both business meetings and date nights, and it continues to impress. One of the reasons I keep coming back is the availability of private dining rooms that are conveniently located near the main dining area. If you're planning a group dinner meeting, just be aware that the sliding doors don't completely block out the noise from the dining room, so conversations may not be as secluded as you'd expect. That said, the food is consistently outstanding. The heirloom tomato salad is an absolute must-order. The crème fraîche dressing is incredible. Pro tip: save some bread to soak up every last bit of it. For the main course, the mesquite-smoked carne asada is exceptional. The meat is cooked perfectly, and the combination of pinto beans, ranchera sauce, and slightly sweet corn pudding creates a balanced and memorable dish. The portions are thoughtfully sized! Satisfying without leaving you feeling overly full. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. They're all worth trying, but the macchiato cake is the standout and the perfect way to end the meal. Whether you're meeting clients, celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying a night out, Eight4Nine delivers excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a dining experience that keeps me coming back.

Eight4Nine is located right in downtown Palm Springs and has a large outdoor patio that's heated, dog-friendly, and able to accommodate larger groups. We had our dogs with us and were seated outside right away by the GM (possibly the owner), who was welcoming and attentive. When our heater didn't work, he quickly replaced it and checked back in when it looked like our server hadn't arrived yet (he had and was just grabbing our drinks). There's also an indoor dining option upstairs that feels quiet and removed from the street. Service here is on the slower side, which we noticed throughout the patio, not just at our table. It didn't feel inattentive so much as unhurried, like the restaurant encourages you to settle in and enjoy the evening rather than rush through a meal. Our server was friendly, made a few jokes, and kept things light, even if we didn't see him often. We started with the corn and crab chowder, though the menu description was confusing regarding the crab. The entree is where things fell a bit flat for me. I ordered the bucatini and found the fennel overpowering. I only ate about a quarter of it, which was disappointing since this was my birthday dinner. My husband agreed (and that's saying something since he's a human garbage disposal). His skirt steak was well seasoned, and the corn pudding was the standout - smooth, lightly sweet, and well balanced. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and smooth teamwork from the staff. Wonderfully presented birthday dessert.

I chose this spot specifically for their Thanksgiving menu--I was really excited to have duck for the holiday. The restaurant was packed, and it's a pretty large place, so even though we arrived right on time, we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Service felt off from the start. Our server was MIA for long stretches, and there were unusually long gaps between courses. Once we finished our meal, we waited at least 30 minutes before he checked on us, and then even longer to receive the bill. For the price of the fixed menu, it just didn't feel worth it. The flavors were decent but nothing memorable, and the dishes didn't taste particularly fresh. Overall, it was an okay meal, but it left us feeling underwhelmed.

"Amazing experience from start to finish! The food, the atmosphere, and every member of the team. From the host to the servers and even the owner John and his sister Ruby were all top-notch. Professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. I can't say enough about this elegantly casual yet eclectic eatery. Truly a standout spot." We will be back !!!

Our first visit, and it was my 70th birthday! I'm known to be a very difficult diner, but when I'm pleased you'll know it. The food was wonderful, artfully presented and seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere is fun and cheery. The only slight consideration was quite a bit of time between courses for it not being busy. Needless to say, we shall return!!

Surprised this place doesn't have 5.0 rating. When we went we had a cute weekend with our daughter so we were pleased that they had mocktails. Then we found out our server Debbie (who was amazing by the way) was sober. She told us her sobriety date which was exact same as my moms! Just thought that was so neat. Love the inside decor and the fact that it is in the dessert makes it even better. We love palm springs and visit every year from San Diego. Can't wait to come here later this year and see what's new with 849!

As for this place, I've been to brunch the first time. Last time was for dinner which we did have a great time. The layout is beautiful right when you walk in. The decor is beautiful with their mix of mid century modern. The lobby itself is a cool spot for drinks. They have the main dining area as you walk in. Two different patio outside which are both covered. One main bar as you walk in. This place is quite cool and a great stop for a drink with the fur babies.

Ordered the garlic noodles & tuna poke wonton tacos and loved it -- just wished they didn't hold…read moreback on their Filipino offerings. Adobo and pork belly feels uninspired, very florals for spring. The overall vibe, venue and service are great. I'd go back here with girlfriends.

I went to Bar Cecil to celebrate a double birthday with my bestie last night. First off, you have…read moreto make reservations two weeks in advance online-- not more, not less. They don't pick up the phone at all, so don't bother calling. They do, however, take walk-ins if you're willing to wait. All part of the optics and over hype. We brought our own bottle of Veuve and they were great about putting it on ice for us and opened it for us so we could sip while we waited for a table. All excellent, but it came at a $49 corkage fee before tip! Geez! When we were seated, the host made a big deal about our birthdays gave us BOTH handwritten birthday cards and told the waiter to take good care of us because we were celebrating a double birthday and seated us at a center spot at the bar, which we loved! A hit! Overall, the service and ALL the staff were great, but to be honest. some of the food was hit and miss. The menu is somewhat underwhelming. They seem to be mostly known for their deviled eggs. Okay, I love a deviled egg, but so what? Every time I'd ask anyone about Bar Cecil, they'd say, "Well. their deviled eggs are good." We should have known then, but we wanted to see for ourselves what the hype was about. It's French because they serve, escargot, steak frites, and caviar service, but it's really a bunch of different food items that aren't really cohesive -- deviled eggs with dates and sage, Thai curry muscles, smoke pork chop, cacio e pepe. WTF? The best things we had were the oysters, grilled artichokes and the Bernaise sauce on the steak frites was spot on, but the steak itself was chewy and difficult to cut with a steak knife -- a miss that could have been a hit. Not worth the price point. We also ordered the Thai curry muscles, which were really good until the last six muscles, which were sandy and gritty. Again another miss, that could have been a hit. The waiter did take them off the bill, but then at the very end of our "double birthday celebration," the waiter asked, "Are you ready for desert?" My friend responded, "Well, I'm pretty full. Is it complimentary?" And he responded, "It is, but I didn't want to ruin the surprise." So we both ordered desert -- I ordered a "special" desert that wasn't on the menu. A cookie ice cream thing and she ordered the pavlova. Mine was okay. She loved hers. Again it could have been a massive hit-- instead it was a massive miss! We were charged $27 for our two "complimentary" deserts before tax and tip! Oh well, we didn't haggle and paid our bill, but only tipped 20%. We would have tipped an extra $50-$100 because it was our birthdays and we would have tipped all the comped amounts to the wait staff, figuring we would have paid those costs plus tax and tip on top of that. Too bad. Overall, I wouldn't wait in long lines any time soon for this experience. It's was just a meh for us.

Yaaaaaas! Took my cuzzos here as they wanted to experience an American Dragshow. Being the ally…read morethat I was, I went along with them. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking and plaza parking. You really shouldn't have any issues unless there's a major festival or something. Seating: Plenty of seating! I mainly saw inside seating from groups to bars. Vibes: You're pretty much in Downtown Palm Springs but also prime location for LGBTQ+ nightlife. The spot itself can be chill and not so chill depending on the events. Regardless, I felt welcomed and enjoyed the vibrant and fun energy. The drag brunch was great! The performers brought charisma, comedy, incredible costumes, with plenty of audience interaction. Whether it was your first drag brunch or your fiftieth, the energy made you feel included. DRINKS Mimosa (Recommend) Simple, refreshing, and exactly what you want during brunch. Light, bubbly, and easy to sip while cheering on the performers. CUSTOMER SERVICE Ongina was served as the MC and was great! The servers were pretty cool too. Good banter, pretty friendly and a good flow. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good flavors, great entertainment, and good energy! Whether you're visiting Palm Springs or you're a local looking for a fun Sunday outing or some fun LGBTQIA+ drag brunch entertainment, check this spot out. TIPS * Make reservations for drag brunch--they fill up quickly. * Bring cash to tip the performers.
