The summer menu is phenomenal. Highlights for us included the albacore crudo, duck confit salad, seabass. Eclectic winelist. Confident. With so much turmoil in the food & bev Industry right now it's so fantastic how Workshop has navigated their course. Kudos to Michael and team.

I have no idea why this has low reviews. My husband and I showed up for dinner, which we were only able to book at the community table because of when we made our reservations, and they offered us a booth. The restaurant is super trendy with lots of concrete and high ceilings. The service was incredible. We asked our server's opinion and he ended up recommending the summer menu, which was AMAZING and a lot cheaper than all of the random item menus we were about to order. I cannot stress how great the food was. Absolute must dine at when in Palm Springs. We will be back!

If you are in Palm Springs, this is a do not miss dining experience. I loved the specialty pizza of the night (duck prosciutto 10/10. And the tamari salad with the Smokey charred bread was also a do not miss. I was a little sad to have missed out on the rhubarb tart, so if you do no make sure you don't close the place down.

We decided to try this place out as my mom was visiting and wanted to give her the full Palm Springs experience. We didn't make a reservation and they sat us at the communal table. We came around 6ish and it wasn't super busy yet. The communal table was spacious, and we felt like we weren't on top of the people next to us. That was a nice plus as some restaurants the communal tables are tight! We ordered a ton of plates and shared them between us. Every dish we ordered was so delicious and the waiter helped us so much. He helped us pair out the dishes to complement the flavors and even reccomended another dish to even out our palettes. Honestly we could not pick a favorite as we truly loved each dish. We had a great time and would highly recommend going here.

This may have been the most visually impressive restaurant we visited in Palm Springs. The building and dining room are stunning, and after eating there, it's easy to understand why the restaurant won a James Beard Award for design. We sat outside, our server Shawn did a terrific job, and the overall vibe felt very Palm Springs without trying too hard. The menu is somewhat limited, but several dishes were excellent. The Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad was unlike any Brussels sprouts dish we've had before. The Ricotta Gnocchi was rich, comforting and easily could have been a meal by itself. Cocktails were also well done. The M-80 definitely lived up to its name because it packed a punch. My wife enjoyed the Courtesan so much she ordered a second. The biggest issue of the night was the Steak Frites. My wife ordered it medium and it came out overcooked twice. What made it more frustrating is that the steak was sliced, so it was immediately obvious. To their credit, they brought us complimentary dessert, although I was surprised the steak itself wasn't removed from the bill. Meanwhile, the wood-grilled pork chop with grits and shishito peppers was excellent. Overall, this was a really enjoyable dinner in one of the coolest restaurant spaces we visited all week.

Workshop Kitchen & Bar has a great ambiance with dim lighting and a chic atmosphere that creates a nice vibe for a night out. The food had some highlights, but the overall experience was mixed due to the service. The waiter wasn't very friendly or attentive, which took away from the experience. It was also disappointing that they had already sold out of entrées by 9 PM. The scallops, crudo, and risotto were the standout dishes -- they were delicious, perfectly cooked, and had great flavor. One thing to keep in mind is that everything is served à la carte, so sides and additions are separate. Overall, the ambiance and scallops were impressive, but the service and limited menu availability left room for improvement.

My boyfriend & I decided to give this place a try despite the not-so-high rating. I was skeptical at first, but ended up leaving confused as to why this isn't closer to 5 stars. Everything was great from as soon as we walked in the door, dined, and ended our night. Great service with friendly faces, interesting (and yummy) food choices, very nice atmosphere, and all our orders were brought in a good pace. We got the crudo, blue crab pizza, fried rice, burger, and heirloom tomatoes/goat cheese appetizer. Oh my gosh the sourdough bread that came with that appetizer was unbelievably good. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I believe this deserves one. We were so full that we had to pass on dessert, but I can't wait to be back in town to try the pistachio tres leches & more! Idk if this matters but we got there at about 8:30pm on a Thursday night. All the booths were full except the one we took. I'd definitely recommend a visit :)

I came here because they were recommended on different websites. I loved this place, their food is innovative and they play a lot with flavors and texture. We ordered the tatter tots which were so good and the roe on top of it made it delicious and fresh. The burrito was good and I recommend it. The calzone was good and I enjoyed it very much. The waffle was a little crispy for my taste but it was good. The sorbet was really good, very fresh tasting. The champagne flight was good and I definitely recommend it. I really enjoyed this place and would definitely recommend it. It is pricey but to me, it was worth it because everything was good and good quality. The service was also good. This places yells brunch and fun, the inside had a nice modern feel but we sat outside and i felt like I was on vacation enjoying the sun.

We really wanted to love this place, and were really looking forward to this meal as our "fancy" dinner in Palm Springs. We came a bit early for our res (20mins), but weren't able to be seated until a few mins past our reservation slot. We walked around the downtown streets to pass the time, and admired the cactuses in the restaurant's front yard. Once seated, I was glad we had opted for the indoor booths, because the community table was something that me (and my introverted family) would not enjoy. The interior is modern simplistic, and the space felt very nicely curated. We came to celebrate my parents' anniversary, and the server immediately offered us all complimentary rose champagne. This was honestly probably the highlight of our meal. We had read some reviews before across different social medias, and ordered the fried oyster mushrooms, kimchi fried rice, and duck salad for appetizers. Overall, the dishes were extremely salty. The duck salad is probably the best out of the 3, and the fried oyster mushrooms were just eating salty fried batter, we couldn't even taste the mushrooms inside. Kimchi fried rice was also pretty disappointing, too much rice and too little other toppings, and again way too salty. For entrees we ordered the scallops and burger, both again extremely salty, the scallops slightly more edible. While the portion size for the other dishes were relatively reasonable, we were surprised that the scallop dish was $52+tax for 3 pieces of scallop. We did know this was on the michelin guide, but 3 still felt like highway robbery. 3 small salty pieces at that, with some white turnips/vegetables to fill up the rest of the plate. Note to self to always ask when ordering how many pieces each dish contains. We ordered the first 3 drinks on the menu, after hearing some online raves for this spot's drinks. It was honestly just ok, nothing super remarkable. Service overall was extremely nice, we felt very taken care of (if a little bit too much). Note that 4% service charge for kitchen staff is auto applied to the bill.

We've always enjoyed our time at Workshop. It's so yummy! You know what to expect. No surprises. It's simple, casual, and good. We've tried many dishes and the only one that I would not recommend would be the flat iron steak. Otherwise the squash blossoms, the pistachio tres leches, and the beet dish are always phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend and sending my best wishes to the chef and this establishment. Thanks for a the good meals!

Workshop is a five star restaurant! I ordered the steak frites and it was perfectly cooked to my liking. The fries are also an amazing touch to a classic play on meat and potatoes. Jake, our waiter, also made great recommendations throughout the dinner. He was both helpful and entertaining at the same time!

reformatted. But this was the wording in small print at the bottom of the menu.

ONE STAR I travel all over the world, and when I'm looking for a restaurant, Michelin recommended places are usually where I start. So I was genuinely excited to try Workshop. What a disappointment. The place itself feels like eating dinner inside a beautifully designed concrete prison. We were in a booth right next to the communal table, where what appeared to be a bachelorette party was so LOUD that eventually I just gave up trying to have a conversation. With all that concrete, every sound seemed to bounce right back at us. Then came the food. My pork chop was undercooked. The heirloom carrots tasted like someone had dropped a bunch of big carrots into rancid water and called it a side dish. I ordered the fried rice, took a few bites and left that too. Same with whatever came with the pork chop. Hint to the staff: when guests leave most of their food sitting on the plates, maybe ask why. The staff seemed completely checked out, like they would rather be anywhere else. By the end of dinner, I knew exactly how they felt. I will give them this: the chilled ice water was excellent and frequently refilled. It was easily the highlight of dinner. Then an extra fee showed up on the bill. I asked about it and asked that it be removed. They removed it. Nothing like finishing a bad meal by leaving one more bad taste in your mouth. Workshop charges a $25 cancellation fee if you don't show up for your reservation. Looking back, I wish I'd paid the $25 and gone to In N Out Burger. I would've saved money and actually eaten my dinner.

They don't pick up the phone at all, so don't bother calling. They do, however, take walk-ins if you're willing to wait. All part of the optics and over hype. We brought our own bottle of Veuve and they were great about putting it on ice for us and opened it for us so we could sip while we waited for a table. All excellent, but it came at a $49 corkage fee before tip! Geez! When we were seated, the host made a big deal about our birthdays gave us BOTH handwritten birthday cards and told the waiter to take good care of us because we were celebrating a double birthday and seated us at a center spot at the bar, which we loved! A hit! Overall, the service and ALL the staff were great, but to be honest. some of the food was hit and miss. The menu is somewhat underwhelming. They seem to be mostly known for their deviled eggs. Okay, I love a deviled egg, but so what? Every time I'd ask anyone about Bar Cecil, they'd say, "Well. their deviled eggs are good." We should have known then, but we wanted to see for ourselves what the hype was about. It's French because they serve, escargot, steak frites, and caviar service, but it's really a bunch of different food items that aren't really cohesive -- deviled eggs with dates and sage, Thai curry muscles, smoke pork chop, cacio e pepe. WTF? The best things we had were the oysters, grilled artichokes and the Bernaise sauce on the steak frites was spot on, but the steak itself was chewy and difficult to cut with a steak knife -- a miss that could have been a hit. Not worth the price point. We also ordered the Thai curry muscles, which were really good until the last six muscles, which were sandy and gritty. Again another miss, that could have been a hit. The waiter did take them off the bill, but then at the very end of our "double birthday celebration," the waiter asked, "Are you ready for desert?" My friend responded, "Well, I'm pretty full. Is it complimentary?" And he responded, "It is, but I didn't want to ruin the surprise." So we both ordered desert -- I ordered a "special" desert that wasn't on the menu. A cookie ice cream thing and she ordered the pavlova. Mine was okay. She loved hers. Again it could have been a massive hit-- instead it was a massive miss! We were charged $27 for our two "complimentary" deserts before tax and tip! Oh well, we didn't haggle and paid our bill, but only tipped 20%. We would have tipped an extra $50-$100 because it was our birthdays and we would have tipped all the comped amounts to the wait staff, figuring we would have paid those costs plus tax and tip on top of that. Too bad. Overall, I wouldn't wait in long lines any time soon for this experience. It's was just a meh for us.

Well this one, located in the Arena area of Palm Springs. Theres no name or signs anywhere. You just have to know where to look. Try opening doors and see which one opens. We were walking back to the car when I noticed the doors. As l had heard so much about it but didn't know where it was. Well lucky me, I opened the door with the first try. I had an idea on where it was but didn't know where. That's where the 4 stars come in. As I had the door open, I could hear from the bar area a gentleman yelling out shut the door. Ok, I get the dark hidden concept but yelling out like that, kind of rude. Do you not want people in. It was about 11pm when we walked in. You enter and it's a dark hallway straight to the bar. That'll be what you see right when you walk in. Place is covered in a dark damask wallpaper and only light are small fixtures. So dark and demure. Bar area is the main attraction with all the seating. There's a few hi tops along the wall as well as some seating in the back area. I'm not sure how big the place is as we only went straight to the bar and sat down. The menu is printed to resemble vintage newspaper. The dark mysterious room with tufted seats and dim lights is what this place is all about. But of course you can't leave out the drinks. Centered of the bar wall, there's Udo Kier watching you. Anyways, down to the drinks. Printed on the newspaper was a perfect touch. I went with the pisco sour and we had the bartender make something else with mescal. An updated smoke and mirror I believe. Drinks were excellent which we expected. The whole place is really dark and mysterious which was a nice touch. It wasn't that busy when we arrived Friday night. A couple of people in the back area which we definitely could hear...lol... There was no list to get in as we just walked in. The only downfall with the rating, the rude remark when we walked in with shutting the door all the way from the bar area. Yes we heard it from outside. There were two bartenders working , but we did chat with one of them and she was a sweetheart. Informed us that they too will be closed down for the summer holiday but will be renovating. Places out here closes at least a month for summer holidays and with the slow season due to the heat. First impression of this place, besides the rude remark was we really liked it. The drinks were great and tasty. It's not super big but more intimate. Can get a little loud as people are talking over each other. Could be the alcohol.... It's someplace I would visit again with people who I know will appreciate it.

Also Sunday brunch can never go wrong. Right in the heart of town along the main strip of downtown. Perfect for people watching while dining on the patio. Be advised, it does get hot but they do have both the main covered patio and street covered patio. Both with mister working the whole time. If you prefer ac, they have indoor dining as well. We like to enjoy the sun and people watching which patio is alway a good option for us. Of course we make friends with the waiter as they alway take care of us. Everyone here from the staff, waiter and waitress, and the owners are all very sweet and friendly. Menu is alway great. You have both the breakfast and brunch menu. We tend to come for them mainly but have never tried dinner here. Of course the bubbly is always a good start. A bottle with three juice options and fresh fruit for adornment. Strawberries and blueberries for the bougie bubbly effect. And for the price, it's worth it. Food wise, we went with the chicken sandwich with salad and the burger with fruit. A side of fries is definitely a must even if it comes with it. Portion for the sandwich was massive. Nice thick piece of grilled and marinaded chicken breast filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and avocados on toasted bread. It's massive even when they sliced it in halves. And the burger, two nice patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and bacon. A classic and it was delicious. I'm not a burger person but every now and then a bite is worth it. The food has alway been excellent. Crowd is alway nice and bubbly. It's cute chit chatting with the other guest nearby. Also we found out that they close for about two months in July and August as that's their holiday time. Glad we made it before it happened. It's a nice place for brunch as it's alway our go to whenever we can't figure out something.

We had the strangest experience here. We were in town for a friends 40th and we had seen great…read morereviews about The Thirsty Palms. We walked up, no reservation. The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back.

It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it. If there's somebody at the bar, you'll need to simply ask if it is open yet.
