    Honeynut Squash. Wouldn't recommend it!
    Caro S.

Reminder- a good vibe only takes you so far. You can't eat a good vibe. This place has so much potential. It's located in the barn/courtyard of the Sparrows Lodge. When you first walk in, it feels a bit disorienting. Walk past the pool and to the barn. The food and inconsistent service made this place a bit of a miss. To start we had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane, the cocktails were nice. At first the service seemed attentive. On the recommendation of our server we ordered the Guac & Chips to start and the Honeynut Squash and John Dory as mains. The Guac & Chips were okay, didn't live up tp the hype. My friend enjoyed her John Dory. Sadly, my Squash was flavorless, bland, and wilted. The description oversold me. The only good part of the dish were the see canyon apple chunks. We were seated in the picturesque patio. The night was chilly and the heat lamp was on high. After roasting, I asked the staff to turn it down but they never did. I finally had to switch seats. After our main dishes came it was hard to get anyone's attention to order dessert or get the check (Pro Tip- they don't take cash). Sidebar- the Warm Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dessert was nice but took a very long time. Baked to order felt more like, made from scratch to order. So if you plan on ordering it, do so early or prepare to wait.

Came here with a group of coworkers and the place was just absolutely beautifully decorated! Warm lights, cozy tables and heat lamps for the outside seating was just amazing. We tried the burrata and the smashed cucumbers, then I had the mole chicken and tried the burger. Everything I had was very well cooked and well seasoned. Tried the pork rack and it was moist and tender! I did hear that the dory was not as well cooked (overdone a bit) and the beans on the pork dish a bit salty which was disappointing to hear. But the best part - warm cookies to end the night! It's a very small restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and thank you to the single waitress who served and helped.

As ALWAYS, the ambiance, food and service was excellent and our server Diego was spot on....

Loved this place! A little hard to find the entrance if you aren't a guest of the hotel but otherwise a pretty great experience. The staff was so welcoming and the vibe inside was super chill. The food was good (the burger felt balanced and not too heavy) the tuna was honestly just okay.

    Dining area

Beautiful, serene setting for a memorable dining experience. You really feel like time slows down here! Thoughtful menu and people (Caroline was wonderful). Had been here once before for lunch which was great and tried dinner now. It's a romantic escape and great for small group dinners or dates and good conversation. The cucumber appetizer was too spicy, but the heirloom carrots with pistachio crumble was perfect - texture combo and flavor. The shaved spring salad and agnolotti were delicious. The oven-fresh chocolate chip cookies at the end are a must. Although this is Michelin-starred, it's definitely a casual outdoor atmosphere.

No access from the street preparing lot.

Good luck getting in. No obvious entrance. Seems to be a Sparrows Guests-only venue. Very frustrating when it's -05 outside and you think you're going to have a nice lunch. It was a short hot walk from the Saguaro Hotel. Obviously it was a waste.

Super cozy date night spot. Recommend getting a reservation. Food and drink: 5/5. We got the pork chop which was so so good with braised veggies, chicken mole (with tortillas) and a chilled Sangiovese. All were excellent. Service: 5/5 great staff and very attentive with good wine suggestions Ambiance: 5/5 - it was a beautiful day and we sat outside under the shade. We loved that they seated my husband and I on the same side of the table! Value: 5/5- our two entrees and wine were about $100 which is what we would typically spend on a date night. For the quality of food and experience this is definitely worth it. Kids are NOT allowed, so definitely more of a date spot. We were a little bummed by this since I have a breastfeeding infant and it was challenging for us to get here, but it's more of a quiet atmosphere at a 21+ resort so we get it.

    Mussels
    Fatima A.

We came because it was listed in the Michelin guide. If you get anything here get the mussels. They tasted fresh and were generous with the amount of mussels. It had a great lemon butter sauce that was fatty with great amount of citrus. The mole was sub-par. We honestly wished we didn't order it. It was lacking the heartiness that mole is known for. It was a very "Palm springs" version of the classic dish and it disappointed. Everything else was great.

Think French countryside, with the decor to match, and a tree on the inside of the restaurant! Down to the choice of napkins, the decor is intentional. It feels like a lived in house with a courtyard and all of the feelings that make it "home." It's familiar and inviting and that's just the beginning. We've been to Palm Springs many times and I've had this place bookmarked for too long and never had an opportunity to try it. When my Team and I came into town for a conference, we decided that since it's a weekday, it would be the best time to try this place out. It breathtakingly did not disappoint. I ordered the Complete savory crêpe and had I not been drinking so much water from the heat, I would have devoured this in one sitting. The side salad is a nice touch and balances out the heaviness of the egg and the ham. My coworker had the avocado toast and was overjoyed that it was very plentiful and well portioned. She also ordered a fresh grapefruit juice which she let me try and I found incredibly refreshing. This is by far one of my favorite breakfast places in California! Our server was busy with many tables and at one point we did have to ask for a refill on water. It also took a really long time to get our check after we had asked for it. Outside of the service this is a must stop!

The rooms are slightly dated. Not disastrous. Not horror story energy. Just giving we have seen a few seasons. You can tell the property wants a little refresh in some spots. Very White Lotus if White Lotus had a more budget-conscious cousin. The pool was clean though, and that goes a long way. Especially when you are at a family-friendly place and one bad pool moment can ruin the whole trip. The bowling alley and games for kids were honestly a strong save. That part gives the property some real personality. It is the kind of setup that keeps children entertained and keeps adults from having to hear "what are we doing now" every eleven minutes. The staff was amazing. Warm. Helpful. On it. That was probably the best part of the stay. They gave the whole experience more polish than the building sometimes had on its own. Good staff can carry a property far, and they definitely did some heavy lifting here. The gym is really small, and it could use an update bad. A few newer machines and a little more space would make a huge difference. Right now it feels like an afterthought. Instead, the experience became one of the most upsetting resort stays we've had. While actively swimming in the La Paloma pool with our children, a large amount of brown material suddenly blasted out of a pool jet directly in front of us and spread into the water. It genuinely looked like sewage or waste coming into the pool. We immediately got out along with other guests and attempted to get answers from staff, but no one could clearly explain what had happened or reassure us that the pool was safe. Because of that, we no longer felt comfortable using ANY of the resort pools for the rest of our stay -- which completely ruined the primary reason we booked this resort in the first place. We left extremely disappointed and honestly sad that our Mother's Day and anniversary trip turned into stress and discomfort instead of a relaxing family vacation. Three days later, I also became extremely sick, which only added to the concern surrounding the incident. Management later emailed us claiming it was "filter media sand" from a backwash issue and not waste. They waived our parking and resort fees, but considering we essentially lost use of the main amenity we paid to enjoy, that did not feel like an appropriate resolution. We respectfully reached out requesting either compensation for the room or the opportunity to return for a future stay so we could actually experience the resort the way we intended to. We never even received a response. For a resort at this price point and under the Westin/Marriott name, the handling of this situation and the lack of customer care afterward was incredibly disappointing.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
