I love the Rowan Hotel. It's a Kimpton property which if you know, you know. And "4 Saints" is their property restaurant on the top floor. I've walked by so many times heading out to the pool and the rooftop bar but never been in. The occasional look inside to see the setup but that's mainly it. It's literally right when you get off the elevator to the right and before you head out to the pool. The restaurant itself is very beautiful. A nice intimate cozy vibe. We were meeting some friends for drinks which also happened to be happy hour going on. When we arrived, it was fairly early so the restaurant part was empty but the bar area had a decent amount of people. Hostess was at the entrance which we were welcomed in. Mentioned that we were just meeting friends at the bar which was open seating. Bar area has wrap around seating. As it the top floor, it does have amazing view of the mountains in the background. Perfect for sunset cocktails. Harrison, I believe that's his name. The sweetest and lovable. He was working the bar when we arrived. Right away, it was like just popping in to see a friend and having a drink even though we just meet. He has the personality that's like we've known each other each other for years. Chit chatting with everyone while making us and everyone all feel welcomed. The sweetest soul which is also so nice to encounter. Places need more people like him. Anyway, they did offer some drinks on HH as well as bar bites. We didn't come for food but cocktails which we ended up just having a couple of beer. Of course joking around, Harrison did hype up the stuffed dates on bar bites. With that said, we had to try it out. It better be good with him hyping it up.... Well, he was right. 4 pieces of dates stuffed with blue cheese, and bacon bites and drizzled with honey and garnished. Served hot and it was a major hit that another order was had. It was delicious and so easy to eat. The sweetness of the dates and honey and the pungent taste of blue cheese with the crispy bacon, it was a match made in heaven. I highly recommend this dish. During our drinks, the place slowly picked up a little. It's the hotel restaurant so it maybe more of the guest that was dinings. The restaurant with the cozy intimate dining experience inside was beautiful. Also noticed that they have a balcony area that looked beautiful during the evening. The place was quite intimate and beautiful. Definitely need to come back for a meal. But for drinks and HH, it's a must. I think they're only open for dinner. I maybe wrong but it's worth coming in even just for a drink. The place is beautiful and service was amazing. Everyone working was a doll from the hostess, to the waiters and staff. The rooftop setting at 4 Saints is unquestionably beautiful. Located on top of the Kimpton Rowan Hotel, the views during sunset are spectacular, especially if you can sit outside on the patio like we did. After an afternoon of travel, my wife and I decided to graze by ordering several appetizers instead of full entrées. The Burrata was excellent and easily my wife's favorite dish of the night. The Crab & Corn Agnolotti was also very good, and the Short Rib Ravioli with shimeji mushrooms was rich and comforting. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The Grilled Spanish Octopus, which is considered one of their signature dishes, was extremely overcooked and chewy. It was disappointing enough that we asked to have it removed from the bill. Service also felt uneven compared to the other restaurants we visited during our stay. Nothing terrible, just not particularly warm or memorable. In the end, the rooftop views were the highlight more than the food itself. Palm Springs has too many outstanding dining options for us to return here on our next trip. read more

I had a reservation at Four Saints in Palm Springs, and let me tell you, it was a letdown. The place was completely dead, no energy. The rooftop setting is cool, but that's about all it had going for it. They brought out some, mediocre bread with basic olive oil. I appreciated them splitting the Caesar salad, which was decent but nothing special. Then came the real disappointment, the short rib ravioli was downright bad and to top it off, they charged $24 for a Tito's martini! That price was absolutely unacceptable. Overall, a hard pass. We started things off with a classic Caesar Salad, super crispy and light dressing, alongside grilled Spanish octopus that was tender with just the right char. The Short Rib ravioli was rich, but only had few pieces so we had to order another plate to share. While the Corn Agnolotti brought a slightly sweet and bold taste, also smaller portion had to order another plate to share. For the mains, the Chilean sea bass was buttery and flaky, and the 8 oz Prime Wagyu was deeply flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth, and worth every bite. For the sides, the Patatas Bravas added a bold, crispy kick, while the Heirloom Carrots were crispy and sweet. We stayed at the hotel and figured it's convenient to go up for a nice dinner on our last night. I made a reservation the night before and be aware to show up bc if you don't, they are charging your credit card for 25 dollars per person for no show. I wanted to see if I could modify my reservation earlier but they didn't let me, but good thing is we stayed at the hotel. So we walked up to see if we could get seated earlier and the restaurant was not full, so they were able to sit us earlier. The menu was small but decent, we got a chef menu ($110) per person go a 4 course meal. Out of all, I love the main dish, the steak the most. The rest was just ok and very small portion; I don't think it's worth $110 in my opinion. The service was good and attentive, the ambient and view were nice. We loved our dining experience here, I'll tell you why you will too. First the vibes were on point, we went in the evening but if you go at dusk or before it's dark there's a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. This is also a rooftop restaurant which is so chic and makes it feel like you're entering into an exclusive dining club. Our server, Tom, was amazing. He was attentive, gave excellent recommendations and really added to the overall experience. To drink I enjoyed one of their spirit free hand crafted drinks, the Mango Mule, highly recommend. My husband got a filthy Grey Goose martini which is always a solid choice. To eat we started with the Lobster ceviche, with the blood orange and mango which was light, refreshing and fun. For our entrees, I went with more apps and had the Grilled Spanish Octopus and Burratta. The flavors of the octopus dish were incredible. The fig on the Burratta with the warm sourdough will have me dreaming of it for days. My husband got the Branzino and Patatas Bravas and wow. The lentils were an interesting touch in the best way possible and the flavors of this dish were unreal. The Patatas Bravas were amazing and a great ode to the Spanish tapas dish. Came in for a birthday dinner as we were staying at the Kimpton Rowan PS (which we also loved-peep the separate review for that). We had a Resy for 4 booked easily through Open Table. They do hold a credit card and charge for no-shows or late cancellations. Received really great service from Tom. He even took our pictures outside with the sunset view of the mountains. Ambiance is great since it's a rooftop restaurant that looks even prettier at night with all the lights lit up in the main dining area. Lots of couples on dates seated outside to enjoy the beautiful view. Loved their Highway III Old Fashion ($21) made with a date infused bourbon and garnished with dates on a pick. Ordered 2 of these. Wine Corkage is $35, a little pricey but def worth it if you've got a nice bottle to bring. Magnums are more at maybe $70 with a two max. Really enjoyed their grilled octopus ($27) and the Heirloom Beets ($20). We ordered 3 mains: the Seabass ($62), the Coq a Vin ($46), and the Prime Filet ($80), along with mushrooms, carrots, and patatas bravas (all priced at $15 each). The Seabass had a perfect cook with a nice crust and flakey flesh, Coq a vin was juicy, tangy, rich with the bacon lardons, and the prime filet was cooked well but sort of overly salted. Loved the mushrooms and patatas bravas and carrots were just okay. Ended the night with a yummy strawberry vacherin that cut through the rich and saltiness of the mains, while the birthday chocolate lava cake was an indulgent end-of-meal treat. Def an expensive dinner but couldn't not go since we were staying at the hotel. Lovely for dates, anniversaries or birthdays. My wife and I had Valentine's Day dinner at 4 Saints in Palm Springs. The restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the Kimpton Rowan, and I will say right away, the atmosphere is outstanding. The lighting, service, seating, and bar are all top tier and create a great upscale dining experience. Unfortunately, the food did not match the setting, which is why I am leaving one star. We had the Valentine's Day prix fixe menu -- four courses at $149 per person plus 20% gratuity. Caviar Cone - A tiny 2-inch cone. Pleasant taste, but essentially a single bite. It felt more like a sample than a course, leaving us wondering, "That's it?" Hamachi Crudo - Only two very thin slices. Again, extremely small portion and underwhelming for a prix fixe menu at this price point. Chilean Sea Bass (my wife) - This was actually excellent. Well prepared, flavorful, and the highlight of the night. Highly recommend. Roasted Duck (mine) - Very disappointing. Flavorless, rubbery, and chewy. Easily the worst duck I've ever had. Chocolate Cake (my wife) - Surprisingly good. Rich, balanced, and enjoyable, a nice recovery late in the meal. Strawberry "Pavlova" (mine) - Small portion and unpleasant taste. The two sugar cookies tasted like soap, which made the dessert hard to finish. Overall, the atmosphere and service were excellent, but the food, especially for the price, was very disappointing. Aside from the sea bass and chocolate cake, the meal felt like overpriced sample portions with inconsistent execution. Unfortunately, I would not return for dinner. The short rib ravioli and the sea bass were both delicious dishes that I absolutely would order again. In general, the portion sizing is a definitely small for the price, but it did have really great flavor. Our waitress was fine, but nothing amazing. A bit on the pricier side, but who can complain when the view is unbeatable Food (4.5/5) I discovered this place from its listing on the Michelin Guide and it's still one of my favorites in Palm Springs. The menu items are curated towards casual fine dining meant to satisfy a range of diners from hotel guests to locals celebrating a special occasion. I would highly recommend to order one of their steaks, especially the prime filet, because this restaurant has always been able to get my preferred steak temperature right compared to other restaurants and the quality of the meat used is on the higher end side. I also recommend to order any fresh fish options that they have in season. Their ceviches are on the well balanced side of flavors in comparison to other restaurants who just drown the fish in citrus juices. The last time I ordered a dessert here it came out differently from what I initially expected, but the chefs here are more creative than most in the area so I appreciated that aspect. I've also recently discovered that they added a tasting menu for $115 so I will report back on that after trying it. Service (5/5) For a higher end hotel, the service at the restaurant matched the hotel's service which is generally expected. The waiters here are friendlier than most and seem to be more experienced in comparison to other restaurants. Additionally, my water is constantly refilled here which is a major factor that I use to distinguish between good and great restaurants. Ambiance (5/5) Located on the top floor of the hotel, the view from the restaurant is one of a kind in Palm Springs. The dining room windows face the mountain range and is spectacular when dining here at sunset. If you arrive early, you can have a drink at one of their two bars, the rooftop pool bar located next to the restaurant or the inside bar that is poshly decorated. They spilled water all over while pouring our drinks but no biggie. It's water, it will dry... Food is mid and disappointing but the presentation was wonderful. For a mocktail, appetizer, main dish and chef tasting menu we paid almost $300. We left hungry and was convinced Palm Springs is not where you get Pescado for your main dish. This place is super cute. It was our first time at the hotel and the restaurant was a great find. Located on the roof top of The Rowan, you get great views of the mountains and the city. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a great bar if you just want to have drinks. The design is nice and has great fixtures. The service was really nice. We walked in on a Wednesday night and was able to get seating outside. We got there right after sunset so it was so pretty outside. We ordered the chefs menu for $115 per person and it seemed to be a good deal for the amount of food we got. May be more in the high end side for some people but it was worth it. Michelin recommended? Really? Or did I go when Chef Crespin took the night off?! Last night we were eager to try this restaurant. We read great reviews and the pictures of the restaurant look so nice. Looks can be deceiving... staff was ok, not very attentive. The offerings on the menu looked great so I decided to try the fix menu. I seldom send food back to the kitchen but my scallops served on a parsnip/potato puree (I think) was COLD! Not only that, the scallops were suspect. About 15 minutes after sending it back, and in the meantime, my husband has finished his steak, my scallops resurfaced with suspicious mushy scallops again. I was so hungry, I reluctantly ate it. Thank goodness l was fine. When the bill came they added about $70 of items that I didn't order and when I told the waitress she immediately corrected it in a way like as if I caught her doing something nefarious. Very disappointed with our experience here for a bachelorette party. The service was extremely poor from start to finish. Our table was only checked on about twice the entire night, we had to constantly look for someone for basic things, and drink refills were never offered. The food was also unacceptable , meat was not cooked properly. On top of that, gratuity was already included despite the lack of service. I feel like once tip is included , they do not care to help. We also asked multiple times for the outdoor lights to be turned on and no follow through. To make things worse, when we asked a staff member about the restaurant, he told us "iI just started yesterday" and simply walked away without helping . Overall, the experience felt disorganized, inattentive, and not worth the price we paid. Definitely not the experience we expected for a special celebration. I took my friend here for a birthday dinner and the views while dining were phenomenal. 7 floors up, situated on the rooftop you'll see palm trees and desert mountains - it's stunning. Go at sunset for optimal effect. Our server was excellent, accommodating and quick which we greatly appreciated. Ambiance was just plain amazing at our outdoor table. Those viewsssss. My friend and I started with the Burrata ($20), our favorite part of the meal. It was creamy and delicious, delectable accompaniments - I love a fig jam. We also had the Patatas Bravas ($15) which were good but I wouldn't get again, 10 oz Prime Bone-In Steak ($80, not for nothing this is the same price as Bavette's) which came with broccolini. This is a wonderful location and the staff is fantastic. Sit on the patio for an amazing view. The food didn't meet our expectations. Presentation was outstanding, but the flavors didn't deliver. Started with both the beet and Caesar salad, which btw was literally five small pcs of gem lettuce. 5. The quinoa on the beach was nice, but the beets were a little tired. Then onto the short rib ravioli, and octopus. Ravioli was too busy for us a lot of competing flavors and was overpowered by the reduction. Octopus was a good dish, but not as tender as we had the night before at Bar Issi. Seabass was outstanding, perfectly cooked, lamb chops were also well cooked but bland. Very nice evening and again, the staff was fantastic, but that is expected at this level restaurant. Not sure I'd go again, 1 of 6 dishes hit the mark and it was $350 for two out the door. We ordered one appetizer, one side, 5 mains for 5 people and it was perfect. We tried the grilled octopus and patate bravas and both were delicious. I had the coq au vin which was very savory (almost on the salty side) but very good still. Our server was very attentive and patient with us as we made our choices for dinner. The drinks were a highlight--especially the mocktail, which was a virgin piña colada with butterfly pea tea. Refreshing and beautiful! I also tried the cucumber gin, which tasted a bit like cucumber agua fresca. It was a little too strong for my taste, but with a cup of crushed ice and a bit of agave syrup, it became more refreshing. For food, the beet salad was light and flavorful, though I think a hint of mint or herbs would have taken it up a notch. The star of the night, though, was the octopus--it was cooked perfectly and the cilantro lime and butter sauce was heavenly. Definitely a must-try. Unfortunately, the pace of the meal was slow. Dinner ended up taking about 2.5 hours, and we waited 30-40 minutes for our main course. The 16oz prime New York strip steaks were slightly over-salted, as were the fries, but the tomatoes on the side helped balance the flavors. The service, though, was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive, always checking in, and our water glasses were never empty. They also surprised me with a complimentary chocolate lava cake for my birthday, which was a sweet touch to end the night. Service was great and attentive, but unfortunately the meals delivered weren't up to par for the price point. The complimentary bread was like the kind you'd get with an airplane meal - a bit dry and hard. Octopus was overcooked. Lamb chop had great flavor but was difficult to get off the bone. The coq au vin had the best flavor and was warm and comforting. If you want to try the tasting menu, your entire table must participate. The service and ambience were amazing! If you're a discerning gastronomic consumer, please use caution. The octopus was excellent, very small portion. In fairness, we'd just gotten back from Spain and the flavor was good but the portion quite small. The Caesar salad, dressing was fair, was over priced with six leaves of baby romaine; leaves were bitter. The most challenging course was the main, I ordered the branzino and my wife had salmon....both were tepid in temperature. We sent them both back and on return, the branzino was excellent but the salmon was reheated and no longer medium rare; more medium well. The sauce was flavorful. Our server was gracious after voicing our disappointment with the temperature and the bill was adjusted some; thank you so much. Having just returned from Europe where we'd had the good fortune of partaking in a couple of Michelin starred restaurants for a 1/3 of the price; it was disappointing. We didn't make a reservation but managed to get a table as a walk-in on a Sunday at 6:30PM. Initial impressions - The restaurant is classy, trendy, and has a chill vibe. Since we went for dinner, we couldn't see the view but I bet it's amazing during the day. We ordered: 1. Heirloom Beets: I'm not usually a fan of beets but I love citrus in my salads and this salad was super refreshing. The manchego cheese gave it some savoriness as well. 2. Grass-Fed Beef Short Rib: I find that most short rib dishes taste similar, so this was good but not something that I haven't had before. 5. Patatas Bravas: Crispy potatoes! This review is for the New Years Eve pre fixe dinner menu only, I haven't eaten here other than that. First off, I really like the space. It's a modern, classy restaurant without feeling pretentious. The staff were all top notch as well, friendly and attentive. Our reservations were for 9pm and there were four of us. So the options I chose for the meal were the Beet tartare to start, the Ube agnolotti as a second, the Beef tenderloin as my main, and the Creme brulee for dessert. All the dishes were ok with my favorite being the agnolotti, the pasta was the perfect texture and flavor and went really well with the rich creamy sauce. I think the biggest disappointments were the Beef tenderloin. The main course was advertised as Wagyu but was actually Prime. For a $185 price tag for the meal, I felt gypped. The tenderloin was done mid-rare like I ordered but overall wasn't really memorable. The other disappointment was there was no Butter cake as advertised so we all ended up with Creme Brulee which I'd also put in the unmemorable category. All in all, the four of us had a nice time, it was worth trying out the restaurant since I love staying at the Kimpton Rowan and had never been to the 4 Saints. Would I come back the next time we're in Palm Springs? I doubt it, there are too many other options in this price range. read more
