I have been passing by this place for what seems like forever. Today we finally stopped and I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere is welcoming and cute. The staff was beyond friendly and our meal was incredible. We started with the hummus and pita, no surprises, just really good and creamy. We both got the lunch special, I had the chicken gyro and my husband the lamb/beef gyro. I had the Greek salad, he had the chicken soup, all delicious. I love the authentic Greek salad and add lamb to it. It's a large portion of veges without lettuce, just like you would experience in Greece. The gyro is really good too! My only negative is that the dressing is fine, not my favorite Greek dressing but fine. I always get takeout so I can't speak to the service to eat there. I would recommend it as a good spot in the desert, give it a shot! read more

On March 19, 2026 I stopped by to order some lunch, it was during lunch time so it was busy but they took my Takeout order. I looked at the specials and ordered the Greek tacos and the Greek salad (California). The service was top tier and all staff members were amazing. I food smells amazing and it tastes so good. A++++ Sooo good. I had the California Greek Salad with added gyro meat, it was delicious. Fresh salad greens, cucumbers, tomato, house dressing, it was absolutely delicious. My man had the gyro plate and loved it. The surprise was the homemade lemonade. The gal said it is made daily with mint, OJ, lime and lemon. It was light, refreshing, not overly sweet, just the perfect blend for a light fresh cool drink. I am not normally a lemonade drinker, but this homemade version is different in the best way. Highly recommend Great service, surprisingly quick bringing out our meals, and lovely interior decor. We ordered the Spanakopita & Calamari to start. The spanakopita was crispy and comes in 2 pieces. The calamari was perfectly fried and not the oily type of fry. The Gyro Sandwich Plate is filling and super delicious! The pita is soft and the lamb is thinly sliced and has crispy outsides. It comes with seasoned crinkle cut fries. Very legitimate Greek food! Wow! Had the authentic Greek salad (same as California salad but no lettuce) and added gyro (only offer lamb Gyro) and it was so fresh, meat was so tender. It was the best gyro meat I've had! They had a special if you get a gyro sandwich with a side like fries and a drink it totaled $20. Location is cozy and unassuming. Service was great and friendly. Although a bit pricey, This place is An absolute must when in the desert! I come here all the time for their gyro! The lamb and pita and simply divine when washed down with a nice glass of wine! Their hummus and Greek salad and just so good and light on the stomach it leaves you wanting more even if you're full! Servers are usually very polite and punctual, but not necessarily overbearing with your needs, just the way I like it. Their baklava is even better! Always take one for the road when you have a chance! The interior of the building screams Greece which is very welcoming(almost like a loved ones kitchen). My family and I love Greek food and we really enjoyed our food at Athena's. Its small and cozy but super authentic vibe. The customer service is great and very friendly. The food is authentic. Not too many Greek restaurants around the Valley, so when I discovered this place, I was very excited. I am the type of person to order what looks good in the photos of the menu, and they advertise the Gyro sandwich, which has been my order for the several other times I've ordered since my first time! The freshness of the food is amazing and the taste of the food is delicious and satisfying. I've only gotten the chance to eat inside once back in June, but Covid has not stopped me from ordering takeout. Just writing this review makes me want to order that for lunch later today! Absolutely the BEST Greek food in the desert!! The restaurant is immaculate!!! Cleanest restaurant EVER!! Pressed linens, drapes spotless and no sign of desert dust. The Dolmades were huge, very tasty and very enjoyable. For my entree I had the a gyro sandwich. A complete work of art. The soup was packed with flavor and a hint of lemon. Went here today to try it out and as soon as I walked in the door I didn't like the place it smelled like a dumpster first of all and I noticed the cook cough into his hands and not wash his hand.
