The reason for the one star review is did not get to eat here, the menu is very limited and it really didn't offer anything for vegetarians. I tried to get them to add salmon to a salad just to add a protein and they said it wasn't possible to do because it was not dinner time yet. Just kind of weird with the spot that gets good reviews not being able to add a protein to a salad. Lost Property is a hidden gem we found on YELP! It's a very quiet hidden restaurant with privacy and quiet atmosphere. The staff welcomed us warmly and accommodated all needs. They have cozy indoor seating as well as a beautiful outdoor garden with tables that look out to the pool. It was a very nice temperature outside for a Palm Springs day so we opted for the outside. We ordered chocolate croissant, avocado toast, spicy tomato burrata and breakfast sandwich. I had a cold brew, regular coffee and the kids had vanilla steamers. I wanted to love Lost Property - it was cute, had a great menu with tons of options. But in the end, great style doesn't overcome a bad meal. We ordered the avocado toast (comes with egg whites) with no modifications; and the loco moco w/scrambled egg instead of sunny. The server mixed up the eggs - scrambled on the avocado toast (I could live with that) and a sunny egg on the loco moco (that was an issue - my guy just can't do yolk). We immediately see what happened and let the server know. Mistakes happen and we're easy to please. This is where it goes south. Instead of fixing it, he argued about who asked for what (we're pretty clear on who asked to modify their meal). He conceded and brought out a side of scrambled egg- plain, no seasoning. By then the food was cold and he left us to disassemble the meal ourselves - so the seasoning, spring onion, and seeds on the sunny egg were lost, making for a bland meal - a so-so moco (look at the pic - wouldn't that have been delicious if served as ordered?!). In the end, neither of us got what we ordered. 2 stars because the location and setting were great and the almond croissant (which he did comp) was delish. read more

We had a wonderful first time lunch at the Lost Property Restaurant and the Skylark Hotel in Palm Springs. This is a very small venue - with only 3 tables inside, and maybe a dozen outside by the pool. We ate inside and had great service and food. We enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich, the kale salad with chicken added, the spicy tomato baked eggs, and the heirloom tomato toast. Three of us had Diet Coke which is poured from cans and one had iced tea. All were served in beautiful glasses. We also tried an almond croissant that was absolutely delicious and we were told they come from a bakery in La Quinta. We look forward to returning to try their dinner menu. read more

Some friends and I stumbled on this place while looking for a place to eat for dinner. We didn't realize it was attached to a hotel until we pulled up, but that didn't really matter to us. It is a more narrow space so if you have a large group I would call ahead or maybe skip this place all together. Before I dive into the food, I just say the service was phenomenal. Everyone was very attentive and quick to provide whatever we needed. I think if I came here again, I would just stick to the appetizers (not pictured) and their drinks. The entrees that we got lacked some flavor which surprised me because I really did enjoy their smaller plates. We ordered steak frites (the meat wasn't warm and was chewy), chicken risotto (the rice wasn't fully cooked), a burger (meh at best, and I'm not even sure it was beef), and a lobster roll (bun was stale and there was more mayo than lobster meat... no claw meat either). The drinks looked fancy but lacked balance. Service was minimal and not very welcoming. Most importantly, the menu prices are outrageous for what you get. Much prefer going to places like Crudo, Farm, and others that actually justify this price range. read more

So glad I found Lost Property! It was purely by chance, too, bc we were staying in the hotel it's in, arrived hungry after a long drive, and decided to stay local. Wow, did we luck out. The gyoza was outstanding, with super fresh chicken on the inside, and a delicious sauce with the perfect amount of heat on the outside. The Caesar salad was inventive, again with a little hint of spice with the togarashi sprinkled on top. My man enjoyed his lobster roll, solid fries, and the dessert was fantastic. We came here for breakfast since it is conveniently located at Skylark, the hotel we stayed at. We were seated immediately upon arriving here at 9 am. The host/server was very friendly and was very knowledgeable about the menu. As we sat down, we couldn't help but notice how sleek and trendy the restaurant is. It is a small place but they really know how to utilize their space. Many folks who are here are just started out their day, lots of coffee and mimosa talks, definitely lots of positive happy vibes! They have a simple menu. They have toasts, baked eggs, smashed burger, salads, shared bites, burgers, or cocktails. We were just getting our day started so I got a breakfast smashed, chocolate croissant, fries fries, and coffee. The breakfast smashed burger was one of the best smashed burgers I've ever had. So juicy, full of flavor, and the sunny side egg cooked to perfection. The chocolate croissant is very good too! I love love love the Lost Property bar in hollywood, so when my parents came into town and wanted to go to Palm Springs, I knew we had to check this place out! It did NOT disappoint. It's super cute inside, and feels perfectly mid-century modern, Palm Springs-y. Everything we ordered was a 10/10 for us. Dad got the "Jalisco Maid" cocktail and my mom and I had the "basil & berry" and we started with the cornbread skillet with miso butter... it was phenomenal. We scraped the skillet clean. For mains, we split the fried chicken, the steak frites, and the fish and chips. All were superb. The tartar sauce that came with the fish and chips alone is worth trying it. I had the breakfast burrito which was delicious and delicately made with thin tortilla the way I like it, and stuff filled with All the good inside egg potato, bacon, cilantro, avocado melted cheese. The coffee drink I got for the Delgado and shaker. Delgado is inverted cappuccino cold where the coffee is sitting on top. So good tasted like melted coffee ice cream. I had to order one to go. And I rarely ever order a second drink at restaurants.Another bonus when I asked for hot sauce to go with my burrito. I'm so impressed. They gave me something unique versus the traditional Tabasco or Tapatio. They said the hot sauce is created by their friend in Hollywood "Smiley sauce" with all the fancy ghost peppers, and Carolina reapers that you can think of. It looked convivial and welcoming from the outside. They were busy, but the tables were not all full, not by a long shot. So it was hard to see why we waited over 10 minutes at the entry before even being acknowledged. Once seated we were given the night's prix fixe menu--fair enough. But we noticed many tables around us had full menus and were served appetizer items not on the prix fixe. When we asked to see the regular menu as well, they were hesitant and couldn't really tell us why it was a problem. I can only assume they were told to flog the formule and steer people away from à la carte ordering. Whatever the case, it was a bizarre experience. After ordering--from their stupid prix fixe menu--we still hadn't gotten our cocktails or even a glass of water after 30 minutes. By that point, we'd had it. For the first time in my life, I up and left. We walked out and salvaged the evening at a nearby bar. I wish Lost Property success, but geez, what a rancid, off-putting experience. I won't be back. I prefer to spend my money at someplace that gives a crap about having me as a customer. read more

They had avocado inside, but the avocado was black. The potatoes definitely did not taste crispy or fresh. They were definitely reheated. Lost Property is a cool little place on the north end of Palm Springs, part of the Skylark Hotel. It's a bit off the main downtown path, which makes it feel a little more relaxed and laid-back. Everything we had--from drinks to small plates to mains--was very, very good. The highlights for us were the Blood and Smoke cocktail, gyoza, heirloom tomato salad, and the branzino. Service was friendly and on point without being over the top. The restaurant is pretty small inside, with just a few tables, but there's more seating outside--which is great during the cooler months.
