This is a cool little sushi bar in the middle of the JW Marriott. Great place to grab a drink and hang out. It had a big tv so we could watch the game. I got the short rib sliders. Wasn't bad. Brioche was sweet and fluffy. Short rib had a little slaw in the sando which gave it a nice crunch. We also got the smores dessert. It was more of a fondue dessert. Came with various cookies, chocolate fondue with marshmallow on top. The grand crackers and cookies were stale. I think it would've been better if it were fresh. The chocolate was good. This place is outstanding and really worth another visit. It's at the lobby of the very grand JW Marriott Desert Springs and we spent our nights hanging out here. They have relaxing music, refreshing drinks and great food. The way the chef presents the food is phenomenal...their Smores Dip was scrumptious and very well presented. The highlight was Vida Mezcal - absolutely amazing! The drinks were top-notch and crafted with real care. If the service had matched the quality of the cocktails, this could've been a great experience. Unfortunately, the service from Ximena really brought things down. It felt like she didn't want to be there -- slow, inattentive, and lacking basic courtesy. It's hard to enjoy such a vibrant place when the energy at the table is off. On the food side, the sushi was solid, and overall, the dishes were above average - but nothing stood out quite like the Mezcal. Aquifer 65 has potential, especially with a bar like that set against an awesome Lobby with views of resort. Just hope the service improves to match it. read more

Wife and I just got in town for a few day came in to grab a bite. I ordered an old fashioned and it came out not good I asked another bartender what they put in them and she explained and that's not what was in mine. She remade the drink and it is 1000% better. And then comes the check, $60 for 1 ice tea 1 order of 3 sliders and $27 for a Basil Hayden Old Fashion. Really? Even the Old Fashion on the menu is $19 and it's made with Angel's Envy this bourbon cost more than B/H. I think the bartender charges what they want they think if the bill it larger they are going to get a better tip. When my wife ordered the iced tea the bartender rolled his eyes like really your at a bar and you get tea. I guess becuase I asked for it to be remade correctly so I got charged more to make up for his screw up. That's $8 more for a 1oz drink that was poured in a glass full of ice, where's the large ice? read more

The ambiance is really nice with live music playing over by the bar in the huge open lobby of the beautiful JW Marriott. The pork tacos were okay. The two sushi rolls we tried were decent as were the cocktails that our friends tried. The chocolate cake for dessert was fantastic! Not too sweet and nice flavor and texture. The problem was the service. Nice woman for sure but seemed completely unaware of the kind of service that should be delivered at a high end place like a JW. She didn't remove empty plates, we had to ask for refills on water and for soy sauce. When she brought out the plates and forks and chop sticks she just left them in a pile on the end of the table rather than setting them in front of each person. She continued to tell us how tired she was because she works two jobs. I get it - just don't need to know that while trying to enjoy a nice meal with friends. It's so awesome when you get a server who actually like serving vs does it just to pay the bills. read more

Servers are terrible. This is the first time this happened but I swear: 1. Server took forever. I had to chase twice to find the right server 2. They said they are not 'to-go'ing orders even though I'm staying in the hotel. So they can serve food as if it's for here and they'll give us to go boxes so we can 'to-go' the food ourselves. 3. Food took 20 mins to come out. Even after it came out, I self 'to-go' food and guess what, they forgot to give us lid LOL. So I had to wait another 10 mins to get lids. Considering food is very expensive (~$100 spent for 3 rolls) this is definitely one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had. As a Bonvoy gold elite, I'm definitely going to stop booking Marriott for my work trips as well as my team. This is one of the most discriminatory experiences I've ever had. We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Springs and went to the Aquifer 65 (lobby bar). The bar is very lively and had great entertainment and the food smelled amazing! We just got drinks to take around the resort and all of the bartenders were very friendly and hospitable. We ordered the Desert Pear Mai Tei ($15) and it was very tasty and was a good pour. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're staying at the JW or in the Palm Desert area! read more

This is my go to when I want something quick and easy while I am staying here. Atmosphere is cool, plenty to look at - palm trees, waterway, boats, and birds. The service is great and the food is pretty good. Today I had the chorizo quesadilla with pineapple salsa. A little light on the chorizo but did it's job. Was not too impressed. Their drinks could be better. For their signature drink the Signature Smash didn't look nor taste all that great. It was overpriced for what I got. And it was $17. The desert pear Mai Tai, wasn't great at all but the garnish made it look better than the previous drink. Their sushi was actually really good. No complaint other than it was $23 for gold leaf sushi. The flavor was good and it tasted fresh. The meat and cheese plate is as expected. The cheese was goat's cheese, brie, and another that I didn't know. The dessert was good. My friend enjoyed her milkshake and I like my flourless chocolate cake. The macarons were just okay. My total for this meal was under $200. I wish I had a better experience with the food flavor and service. Unfortunately, my server Marian I think was her name, forgot multiple times to put in our order. The good thing is that we didn't wait too long. It wasn't terrible and I believe it might have been a busy day so I'll give her that. My party was very patient. read more

Hubby & I crashed this bar one night on our Spring Break trip lol There was some business party going on & we decided they were having too much fun & we needed to crash it lol By the end of the night, my name was Rose, I worked for NASA & we had 5 kids. I LOVE FLAMINGOS!!!! YOU SEE THEM AS SOON AS YOU TURN INTO THE RESORT........ My only regret, was as not booking Thanksgiving Day brunch. I'm so disappointed in myself but we have tried other brunches at resorts and they've been pretty disappointing but this one looked absolutely incredible. It definitely had all my favorites which included crab, shrimp, muscles and bacon.Next time we go back to stay at this place and if it's around Thanksgiving we will definitely do the brunch. They have a beautiful pool, at this beautiful resort but unfortunately it was cold, way too cold to use the pool, at least for us. And then it also snowed on the mountains just to the east of us. They have mini-golf, swimming pools, a gondola boat ride, fitness center, activities, day spa, live music, tennis courts, professional golf course and some great places to eat and drink. We liked our room we had a balcony but we did not use it because it was too cold to sit outside and enjoy. Our view was great as we looked out on the golf course and we could also see the foothills. The friendly waitress provided menus and our fresh made sushi was sitting in front of us just moments later.
