Had an absolutely great time. The singer tonight was amazing, the music was country themed. My bartender, Khaled, was an absolute angel. He made sure I was taken care of even while the other bartender was busy helping someone else. I can always appreciate people who go out of their way to make sure every customer feels attended to. Unfortunately, I witnessed another bartender yelling at Kaled, seemingly upset that he helped serve me on "his side" of the bar. The hostility toward his coworker was really uncomfortable to watch. Visited the Red Barn this past Friday night ... so this review is purely based on this one experience clearly. I'll start off by saying I do want to come back another time.. maybe when it opens and I can grab a spot at the bar and really take in any other type of vibe this place can offer. Now as for Friday, I was told in advance they would have the little rope ..and a dress code so I walked in prepared for a type of environment that would be a little more upscale chic.. boy was I wrong lol. I get it's called Red Barn but I saw more ladies in cowgirl gear than Stagecoach! Then the other half looked like they belonged in RHOC circa 2010. It was funny and odd. The ladies in the back room were belligerent drunk ..we saw one girl semi crawling ... I would hope she dropped something and she just awkwardly was looking for it.. but I really don't know. Then there was another group of folks playing that weird game with their phones where you guess what the word is??.. my students play this btw. Anyways, they were as loud as the music playing which kept going in and out! I'm sure at one point some basic artist like Rufus came on. Ok so then the real show was when one of the girls got on top of the table to do god knows what (dance?) and then we slowly almost watched her head get chopped off from the ceiling fan lol... well not literally obviously but she bumped her hair and I swear her long ponytail was seconds away from getting caught in the fan! I think that's when we decided the show was over. Drinks are pricey but what the hell isn't anymore. I don't mind dropping $25 on a drink but not when there is a girl in jeans on a table swinging her head. Where was security? lol Ok the highlight was Kenzie, very lovely young lady who was our server. Her outfit was cute. She was very attentive and had a fun vibe to her. She helped us decide on drinks and I appreciate her input. Ok the decor in there is nice and I see the work that was put into it. But if I want those vibes I'll go to the Saguaro pool at 2pm on a Saturday and have a $16 frozen margarita instead. Absolutely amazing venue and DJ his name was Fambam. From the moment he started playing the energy was unreal. He was super nice friendly, and really knew how to read the crowd. The music kept everyone moving all night, and the vibes were perfect the whole time. Me and the crew had such a great time we couldn't stop dancing! I came here tonight for drinks with my friends I'm extremely disappointed with the experience I had at this bar tonight. I had been sitting at the bar for over an hour and a half with my friends, enjoying the night and minding my own business. At one point, we noticed a smell of weed in the air, but didn't think much of it. Out of nowhere, the owner walked by, spoke to security, and started pointing at me aggressively. Without asking any questions or having any proof, he accused me of being the one responsible for the smell. I was completely blindsided and embarrassed. I wasn't doing anything wrong, yet I was singled out, confronted, and ultimately kicked out -- for something I had absolutely nothing to do with. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. There was no investigation, no conversation; just assumptions and disrespect. I've never felt so wrongly targeted and humiliated at a place that's supposed to be about having a good time. I won't be returning, and I'd caution others to think twice before supporting a business that treats its guests this way. read more

My friend and I had a lovely experience at the Red Barn. It's the peak of summer, so town is a little empty. We walked up to Red Barn on a Friday night, and we were greeted courteously, had our IDs checked and scanned, and the gentleman providing security opened the door and welcomed us in. Once inside, a great live band was playing country cover songs and doing a great job. We were able to dance a bit and get our drinks. We eventually found a little high-top to sit at with our drinks, which was nice. A very sweet bartender came to check on us and was very courteous all night. We made sure to leave her a nice tip, since we used the table for a few hours. The next set was by a DJ named Modgirl; she was super fun and closed the night out with consistent energy and a good music flow. The women's bathroom is decorated as beautifully and thoughtfully as the rest of the establishment and as clean as one could wish for. We loved the Red Barn and will definitely be back! read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We approached Red Barn with a wealthy client looking to organize a full-venue buyout for a private birthday event. You would think a business would be excited about that level of revenue, but instead, we were met with Brooke. I've never encountered a staff member so unnecessarily hostile and belittling. When we simply asked if the venue served food, Brooke decided to be a "smart-ass" rather than a professional. Her response was, "If we made food, don't you think you would smell it?" We were completely taken aback by the attitude. When we didn't find her "joke" funny, she immediately started backpedaling and tried to make it seem like we were the ones being "offended" or dramatic. It was classic gaslighting--she was incredibly rude, then acted shocked when we didn't appreciate being talked down to. Last I checked, customers aren't bloodhounds. It's a bar; most people expect the smell of spirits, not a wafting kitchen. To be told it's "common sense" to sniff out a menu is absurd. If you're looking to spend a significant amount of money on a buyout, go somewhere where the staff actually has the class to handle a basic inquiry. Last night my sister was groped on the dance floor by another woman. I reached out to security and they did absolutely nothing. They allowed this woman to stay in the bar and we were called liars. This place does not care about good service or doing the right thing. The woman who did this to my sister approached us after the incident, screaming at us and called us names. We felt very unsafe and uncomfortable and nothing was done to remedy the situation. I will never be returning to an establishment that doesn't prioritize safety and allows predatory behavior. Wanted to love this place, but the experience was awful. Stopped in after dinner at Mastro's for cocktails. Great space, great band, great energy. After about 20 minutes, without any explanation, our server told us we had to pay our bill and leave. When we asked if we could order another drink, she said no--the owner wants you to leave. We asked to speak with the owner and were told he didn't want to talk to us. For context, we are Palm Desert residents and business owners (two businesses local). We were respectful, spending money, and causing no issues. I've never been treated this way at an establishment. Zero hospitality. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend. read more

The 5 stars is for the performers NOV 1; I would give the stage lighting 1-STAR. I was a seated at the west end of the main bar and I felt like I was watching shadow puppets perform. I was tempted to ask the bartender to ask the guests of the east end of the bar to turn on their phone flashlights, but bit my tongue. This event was an album release party for Kimberly Cofer and Tumbleweed. As the original manager of the Grizzly Rose in Denver Colorado from 1989-1993; I know a little bit about running a venue. We featured live music seven nights a week.  Garth Brooks had his first nightclub performance in CO when his band was called Stillwater. His B/W flyer was titled " Bring Garth to Town and watch him burn it Down." Raised the cover charge from $3 to $5 to cover his $1500 fee. For the next 3 years as country music exploded, it was our pleasure and distinction to host Nashville's finest. From Wille, Tanya and Waylon. Toby Keith started as a weekly house band with his band Easy Money. The club was nominated twice for Country nightclub of the year and won that distinction in its third year of operation. If I were one of the VIP $65 ticket holders my disappointment would have been tantamount to being seated in the outfield bleachers. I know most of them were there to support Kim. I highly suggest the new club owners invest a little more in lighting and less on cool art pieces. The customers who are paying $9-15 for beer, wine and cocktails will stick around if they can SEE, who they came to HEAR. I like the Red Barn's new look. Once it reopened it was the best place in town with a whole new atmosphere and fully renovated with a lot of character but after going in this last weekend which wasn't worth waiting the 45 minutes wait in line. Originally it's FREE for everyone on weekends but they had a $20 cover charge for all the guys because suddenly they wanted to cash in during the golf tournaments which they should have the decency to put a sign that there's a $20 charge for men only so everyone is aware, as soon as I walked in the place smelled like dirty breath and very stuffy because the splinters work half ass, with the amount of money that was put into this place CENTRAL AC should be affordable... Not only that, I ordered an old fashioned and expected the sugar cube but the bartender she added multiple ice cubes and it was watered down, when I asked for the sugar cube it cost additional, never in my life I've gone to a bar and ordered an old fashion and was told I have to pay extra for a sugar cube when that's how the drink is supposed to be made! This was place was an absolute hit in the beginning and slightly still is but if these conditions keep up it'll end up back in the shitter like how it was 10 years ago! read more
