I am staying here this weekend with my mom and sister to treat my mom to a late Mother's Day celebration. The meal here was such a WEIRD and OFF PUTTING experience - from the SUPER slow service (I think our server was Gloria, who was nice, but again super slow), to the inexperienced busboy who would leave like, a literal TRAY on our table until I had to ask him to remove it, to the very crazy wind splashing the water from the waterside onto us. When we asked to move because the nasty water kept being blown on us, the busboy told us we couldn't, even though there were DOZENS of empty tables all around the patio area. It was such a CRAPPY experience that I could not even focus on the meal or the quality time with my family. It was also too late to just go somewhere else for dinner because we were already starving (remember we waited FOREVER to get service) so we stuck it out. It sucked. Don't eat here. We spent like $200 after tip and I don't remember the meal, I just remember it was cold and wet. read more

The GM should try it! The General Manager clearly has not been to his own restaurant, otherwise he would make a change. Tried this place twice and each time nobody is helping or knows what to do. 1) Try to get a table? Nope, nobody is at the hostess stand. 2) Try to get a drink? Nope, not a bartender in sight. 3) Pissed off customers? Oh there's plenty of those around. Whomever is in charge of this resort need to put some boots on the ground and figure things out. This place is fine but not an authentic Italian experience, but it is very VERY expensive, even for a resort. The food is just fine, so is service. There are better Italian restaurants in the valley for a much lower price point, so I recommend that. Ambiance is fine, not great, not bad. It looks like any other restaurant. We had just arrived to the resort after exploring Joshua Tree NP all day and made reservations for dinner after being advised that we should since it was a weekend. So naturally we were all eager for dinner and came to the restaurant hungry. The hostess was friendly and sat us quickly because of our reservations but the place was practically empty. We received bread and our menus....we didn't expect it would take 45 minutes for someone to take our order. Holy smokes, we would understand if someone during that time came to explain what was happening at the back and perhaps supply us with continuous bread. Hubby finally had to inquire for someone to come to our table....TWICE. Finally someone came over to take our orders. At this point we expected another long wait. By the time our food came, we devoured it because we were either hungry or it was really good. Who knows but our experience was already tainted because of the service. Because of the price point of the restaurant we expected more. The restaurant itself is beautiful and staff is friendly but they need to work on service. We were there on a Saturday and perhaps the lack of people dining should have been a sign of what was to come. There is definitely potential here but improvements must be made. read more

We had the pleasure of dining at Pinzimini during our weekend stay. As Marriott Elite members, we received breakfast vouchers, on weekends a breakfast buffet is served which includes fresh fruit and omelette station, roasted potatoes and assortment of pastries, yogurts, cereals, and more. It was a beautiful spread and truly offered something for everyone! The indoor and outdoor seating spaces are beautiful, and service was great. We stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to Palm springs. It is in a great location, close to the casinos, and it was very family friendly. \We have a young daughter so we didn't take advantage of the arcade, but I took a picture of the bowling alley in the middle, surrounded by a bunch of Fun Arcade games. There's a lot of different activities if you have younger children. There's also a few pools on site, that we didn't take advantage of because of the weather but we would definitely come back to jump in a heated pool. There is also plenty of Golf and Tennis around the area. I took a few trips to the tennis courts, and if you ask the valet they will shuttle you there in a golf cart which was a nice addition. Overall we had a very pleasant day at this location. read more

Gabriel was our waiter and happened to be near the host stand when we arrived. He and the others are very friendly and professional. We enjoyed sharing their shrimp frisée salad and sea bass asking to substitute the usual accompaniments with the linguine that is made in house. Salad was with a wonderful dressing and the shrimp were grilled and served warm. Excellent contrast to the creamy avocado and the roasted carrots and lettuce greens. The sea bass had a crispy skin and melt In your mouth moist filet. Pasta and spinach combination was excellent. Finishing off with the chocolate dessert was a great ending. Creamy and not over sweet with a berry medley, raspberry sauce and dollop of whipped cream to run my fork through with each bite. A great accompaniment to my husband's red wine. read more

We were staying here for the stagecoach weekend and ate here twice because we didn't feel like driving out to eat and it seems to be the only restaurant in the resort. Day 1 Food was decent, asked for over easy eggs but it was a little too easy and need to be on the grill for another minute or two. The service on day one is tanking this review. I ordered a Bloody Mary with my shot on the side because I'm a light drinker and I like to be able to control how much is in my drink and give the rest to my friend who ordered the same. The waiter said he had the shot out into my drink and just looked at me and said just drink it, it willl be fine instead of saying "I'm so sorry, let me fix it". Then my friend asked if she could get some salsa on the side when our dishes came and the girl who was helping said "you just have to wait". Poor poor service on day one. Day 2 The hottest at the counter on Sunday morning the weekend of stagecoach had to worst demeanor and attitude. We approached the hostess station and asked for a table for two, she asked if we wanted outside or inside, we said it doesn't matter nicely. Then she had a stone face and said "well, it's what you want, I don't know what you want. No smile or pleasant tone. Terrible, Service was extremely slow on getting our drinks and food to the table. The dishes we ordered was very delicious, very pleased I ordered it. Bloody Mary came has I ordered which I was happy but forgot my olives that usually go in there so I had to ask but the waiter was nice to get it with a pleasant attitude. When the check came this is when things got worse, we waited for a very long time for our check, then waited a long time to get our waiter to come back and tell us he couldn't split and charge our cards evenly so he separated the dishes and tried to make it even but double charged us for coffee, which we didn't get but had waited too long for everything that we just didn't bother. The waiter through all the long waits was apologetic and kind but too many service errors and it wasn't just a fluke. The establishment need to work on development of their help because it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth before the food even gets to you. read more

I'm really shocked to find a full 4 stars for this place. The hostess was really slow and once she arrived she asked us to continue waiting. Once seated we're handed a menu that is missing most of out favorite Italian dished. I'm not going to mention which ones because they should know better. They are trying to claim it's Italian. We both order fish. I believe it was cod but we can't tell because the short receipt we got doesn't show what we ate, only numbers like $109.77. It's really interesting that most of the dinner menu we were handed was mostly alcohol beverages and not food. The menus listed on their website are not what we were handed or what we ordered from. What ever the fish is it was served skin side up which I haven't seen before and I myself cook different types of fish all the time and I NEVER do that but maybe it just us. NOT! We thought we were getting something like potatoes au gratin but these were kinda weird and had a strange taste. They do provide a lemon for your fish but it's been cooked and is covered in oil so squeezing over our fish was really messy and went everywhere. You would think a squeezer or a lemon wedge bag would have been offered but no. We do not recommend this place. They are way over priced and the food really isn't worth it. read more

My husband and I were staying at the Westin for a few days for a business trip. Our first night there, we decided to try this restaurant out as it was at the hotel. The food was very good! Our server (also bartender) did great and took care of all our needs. My husband and I split a Cesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. We also ended the meal with the apple tart which was delicious! I'm docking a star because we came in at 5:00pm, and the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We did not, but the restaurant was fairly empty. She explained that they had a group of 40 reserve most of the restaurant. Understandable. A server that was still taking tables was also standing at the hostess stand. The hostess asked her if she wanted us sat in her section, and the server said, "No." and walked away. Thankfully, the bartender was happy to serve us and did a great job. But that left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

We used Yelp and OpenTable to find a new place to eat in the Rancho Mirage area. We were staying at a hotel / casino close to here so we thought we'd try it. The grounds and architecture of the resort, hotel and restaurant are very nice. Pinzimini is inside the Westin, directly through the main entrance corridor, past the check-in and gaming area, and then to your right as you get to the back of the building. Two parking options are available - valet and self-park. Valet is free if you are staying or dining there. Self park is slightly down the hill to the right. Gated so bring your ticket to get validated. If is a little bit of a walk from the self-parking to Pinzimini so if you or your significant other have very high heels or uncomfortable shoes, you might want to be dropped off at the front door of the Westin. The design of the restaurant is very nice but they could use some help cleaning. We were seating directly by the window with a view of the firepit which was great. But, when we looked down at the window ledge, it had breadcrumbs from previous diners. We mentioned it to one of the employees and he acknowledged it needed to be cleaned. The dining room is impressive looking with very high ceilings and a nice ambience. Our server greeted us quickly and went over the menu items. They seem to have a limited menu and most items were close to $40 each. The shrimp scampi was in a red sauce which was a bit unusual but the flavor of the sauce was good. The breaded chicken was a bit dry and definitely could have used a sauce of some sort to help out. If you order that off of the menu, the pasta comes with butter and oil. I asked for Alfredo sauce and the chef granted that request. The pasta and Alfredo were both good, the chicken cutlet was just okay. For the prices listed, I was expecting a lot better. It was a great evening of dining with Lance , our server and Aerial the supervisor who came to check if everything was ok. It was a great evening. Lance did a good job managing our expectations of food portions. The ahi appetizer is delicious but small. Note- the full size is only four pieces. But still delicious. We absolutely loved eating at this restaurant inside the resort! Our server, Elizabeth, was amazing! We had too much fun in the pool when we arrived that we forgot to eat dinner! We came strolling in almost before they close and they still seated us! We were so grateful because we were starving! I ordered the steak and omg! So freaking good! We got a bottle of their house merlot and since we didn't finish it at the table, they let us take the bottle back to the room. We were quickly seated and sat for 13 mins before water or anyone approached us. I saw a colorful shirted male, obviously a manager, and asked him to please send over our waiter. She showed up quickly. She took our drink order, and before she walked away, I also asked her to take our food order as well, not knowing if our food order would also take additional wait time. Our food arrived about another 15 mins. All in all the food was "Ok". But not for $190.00. With so many great restaurants here in the Coachella Valley to dine at, I cannot currently recommend this restaurant. It is a nice restaurant in a nice setting, but there are issues. Extremely disappointed! All of their dishes and silverware were dirty or had water stains on them. When I pointed it out to the server she chuckled and walked off. Never brought us new dishes or silverware. My friend got the chicken sandwich which was cold, dry and bland, she took a bite and sent it back. The waitress left it on the bill and gave us a $3 discount. Had to call the manager to have it completely removed off the bill. I got the salmon which came out cold, undercooked and no flavor at all. I was so hungry I just doctored it up with salt and pepper, olive oil and lemon. It was bad. I told the manager as well and he did nothing about it. I ordered white wine which came out room temperature but my friend enjoyed her margarita. Let's just say we probably won't be dinning here again. read more

Let's start with the positive. Wonderful ambience, food was tasty and service was excellent. So why 3 Stars? Well, I'd put this restaurant in the "fine dining" category. When I'm paying $20.00 for a cocktail, I don't expect to be in a 3rd grade play school environment. There was actually a little girl that was walking around barefoot in the restaurant. WTf!! No mngmnt in the restaurant approached the "out to lunch" parents about the unacceptable behavior of the child. It's like she came from the pool to the restaurant. Maybe that's their target market and it isn't a couple going out for the evening. Listen, I understand, if I go to Disney World, I don't expect an environment free of kids and a relaxing dinner atmosphere. But, I was floored at the circus like atmosphere of a restaurant that has the ambience of fine dining, but operates like a grade school cafeteria. It's too bad because the restaurant nailed the other important dining considerations. Management needs to wake up or have a warning label that the restaurant caters to kids, which is fine. Just give me a heads up and I can make other plans. read more

Not great. Admittedly, I should have known better. This is not a luxury hotel and I should have considered that, but it was convenient because we were staying here. I had a $49 10 oz NY steak that was not as good as steaks I've had at the downtown Vegas $6.99 steak and eggs joints, or at Norm's on La Brea in LA. That's the level of meat quality. Do yourself a favor and if you're staying at the Westin, venture off property and pay the same price for WAAAAAAAYYYY better quality. And my $20 glass of a second tier Far Niente offshoot label was short on the pour. Whatever...now I know to go off property if I want better food. Positive notes - our server was attentive and friendly and brought my kiddo extra cherries in her Shirley Temple so that was a highlight for her. And we had a very nice table on the patio, overlooking the pool so the view was very nice at sunset. read more

Decided to have breakfast at this location. When we walked in, we were greeted by the servers. They told us that they were only offering a la cart from the menu and that was fine with us. We were given our choice of tables since there was only 2 other occupied tables. We were sat down and ordered coffee, tea, and a peach green tea lemonade. That was when we noticed the first sign of the food quality. The syrup was all sitting on the bottom of the drink. It took about a good 3 minutes to stir and mix it. We ordered the following: Mascarpone & Berry French Toast - The French Toast was very dry. Did not seem like they soaked the bread at all. They advertise it as brioche but it looked and tasted like regular sliced bread. The berries were fresh, but that was the only good thing about it. Short Rib Benedict - Very bland, cold, and the short rib was very very very dry. The English muffin was soggy. The entire dish was very disappointing. Overall would not come back and would not recommend. Only reason for the 2 star was because service was alright. read more

Pinzimini is inside the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa. It had a full list of breakfast menu and drinks. The host seated me immediately for my table, inside or outside was available. I ordered black coffee with ice. As titanium elite, the hotel offers a complimentary breakfast with green juice and pastries. Continental break fast came with eggs, sausage AND bacon, and toast. We ordered extra jam and the waiter gladly brought us some without extra charge. All staff members checked in and made sure we were comfortable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a casual brunch or a dinner date at the hotel. We will definitely come back to eat here! read more

If you've stayed at or played a round at the mission hills property in Rancho mirage you've likely eaten here, it serves poolside and after golf crowds alike on this wonderful resort property. This place is contemporary Italian with a brunch bar service. The center piece is the large, brick pizza oven built into the wall and the excellent pies that comes out of em. The items are priced reasonably with most plates priced between 15 to 20 bucks. Service was good as well, I'll check out the bartending next time. As for lunch, definitely 4 to 5 stars depending on your preferences. read more

We decided last minute to go for Father's Day as my son was in town. We hadn't been in a couple years. The place was literally empty. We were the only ones there until about halfway through a family who were clearly staying at the hotel made the mistake of stopping in. The menu (not the one on their website) was a third of what it usually was with completely uninspired options and everything was subpar to put it mildly. Dry chicken, flavorless pasta... just bad. Then finally the $240 bill arrived (3 people who ordered only 3 entrees and drinks). Come on Westin, you can do better. read more

Ordered the Seabass. The skin was rubbery and not cooked enough. Fish was bland. Brussels sprouts were undercooked and hard. Overall, a very dissatisfying dish. Ordered a salad with ranch and I think they accidentally put some kind of balsamic and then covered it with ranch. Thought I would finish it with dessert since the rest of it was so terrible. I don't think they put an ounce of sugar in that chocolate cake. Overall terrible. read more
