This location is a staple when going to Palm Springs. It's delicious and the portions are just right. Service is fast but the restaurant does fill up fast. Ambience is very causal, American dinner type. The German pancake is a staple. I will keep going every time I'm in Palm Springs.

If you are looking for a pancake unlike any other then look no further! Highly recommend the German pancake (super soft and thinner than ours) but make sure you have four people to eat it! We sat outside and the view is also very nice from the mountains. Nothing overly crazy about this place but it seems popular with the locals and was pretty busy on Saturday morning. Was pretty bummed about our service, had to ask for a lot - water refills, syrup for pancake, etc.. but wasn't the worst.

From the staff to the food... everything was amazing cooked well and tasted even more amazing we definitely recommend coming here.

German pancakes with berries

You know what the deal is about this place. Their famous German pancakes. A must if you haven't tried it. The place opens all day but we tend to only come for breakfast. It does get pretty busy so if you're coming on the weekend, be prepared to wait. We came on a Tuesday for breakfast and as we had our pup with us, there was a slight wait for the patio seating. Plus I just found out that there's two patio on either side...lol... We normally thought it was the only one in the back. There's also the front patio which wasn't available which I didn't even know it was used having been here loads of times. Thought it was just for waiting. Anyways, it was only a few minutes wait until we got seated. The menu pretty much consist of everything. Breakfast lunch and dinner and anything in between. We just tend to stick to breakfast whenever we're here. Once in a while sandwich. To what everyone wants, started off with mimosas and went with the country fried steak and gravy. Served with hash browns, a biscuit with butter and eggs your way. Also the potatoes pancakes with apple sauce, eggs your way and bacon. And the main show stopper, the German pancake with strawberries and powdered sugar. Everything was pretty tasty. Country fried steak was nice and the gravy was great. Potato pancakes had that nice little crunch which was perfect. Cooked perfectly. Pancakes, soft with a little crunch from the crusts. The glaze from the strawberries was a perfect touch to it. You could get it without but I prefer with the berries. Service was excellent. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Hostess was great and the sweetest. There's a decent size parking lot but street parking is also available.

Great for breakfast! (Or "breakfast for lunch") I had the Stuffed Hasbrows. It had scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage (chuncked), then hashbrowns over that, then gravy on top of it all. A little messy, but very tasty. I asked for the hasbrowns to be "Well-Done", so there would not be that under-cooked potatoes in the middle; they were cooked just right. The fruit was very fresh and sweet. And I liked the toasy English muffin with jelly. The servixe was great. Super friendly staff and the service was paced just right (good follow-up after food comes, also not bothering while eating). The ambiance is nice, like a big, clean IHOP (table space layout), but with nicer furniture and wall decor.

ORDER THE CINNAMON ROLL PANCAKES!! I was hesitant on coming here where the menu sounds traditional in a city full of award winning restaurants and boy am I glad that I got to try this plate because I was incredibly impressed with everything we ordered!! Including the Bloody Mary, which I normally don't like... I want to do a Palm Springs visit explicitly to dine here again!!

Half of the Farmers Omelet with a side of hash browns and a biscuit

Wanted brunch near the Festival Theaters. Elmer's seemed a good choice. 10 AM on a Saturday morning - the place was packed with a 20 minute wait for a table for 2. They have a huge menu with lots of breakfast options. We decided to share the Farmer's Omelet with a side of hash browns and a biscuit ($19.29). They split the meal in the kitchen for us (NICE). Even eating just half, the portion size is huge. Overall, a good choice for brunch, but not really special and not meriting a long wait - an IHOP or Dennys equivalent in terms of menu size, quality of food, and price.

Before we headed back home from Palm Springs we had to try Elmer's for brunch and it did not disappoint. Warning: this place can get PACKED, especially their parking lot. So I suggest putting your name down early. I waited about 45 minutes to get a table for 4 (3 adults, 1 child). Inside looked like a typical busy breakfast spot with booths and tables. They also had a patio area and I believe they had fans but I couldn't quite remember. The hostess was extremely friendly and provided a nice kids menu full of activities and crayons. Unfortunately, they ran out of their crab omelette which is what I had planned to order and I was pretty bummed about it BUT I forgot all about it when I took a bite of their French toast. It was fluffy, moist, and perfectly sugared. The slices were pretty large too--you could definitely share it with another person. We also ordered mimosas and a few other dishes around the table. Eggs and sausages were nothing to brag about but I still really enjoyed my meal. I think this place is a classic breakfast spot with all the basics and more that will be sure to satisfy everyone in your party.

OVERALL: It is a truly rough breakfast joint with hardy meals on large plates. Their standout and highlight is definitely the German pancake. Other than that, everything was a miss. GERMAN PANCAKE WITH LINGONBERRY: definitely must order and must try. It's definitely something special. The tender pancake that's not too filling with its thin complexity and the surprisingly proportional topping of lingonberry and powdered sugar. Lingonberry mix was kind of grainy (it's mixed with a white substance). No syrup provided. Fruit (lingonberry or strawberry) is an additional $1 (more or less). Other suggested dish I read and ordered was... STUFFED HASHBROWNS: definitely a no need to order. Little hashbrowns. Lots of fluffy scrambled eggs. Sliced pork sausages. Chunks of crispy bacon. And then a spoonful of white gravy on top. Eh. Biscuit on the side. You're definitely not missing anything if you don't order this. Side of fresh fruit provided. SERVICE: Our server (female) was nearly inattentive. A male wait staff literally was standing there and informing our female wait staff that we were calling her. Pleased that they had the toast tablet so that we could pay table side (and yes the male server had to help us). Didn't really take any initiatives such as pouring beverages, needing extras, etc. until we asked. AMBIENCE: Casual dining but what I call a finer dining diner especially for breakfast. No mandatory service fees automatically included. Tables, dishes, utensils, booths, etc were all surprisingly clean. Largely seniors and visitors dining in. Located on its own grounds with a private parking lot free of charge. Would I come back? No.

Wonderful, quick service. Portion sizes are large and I suggest sharing. My kids enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes and each got 4 pancakes from one order. Elmer's reminded me of a family owned iHop. The classic breakfast diner vibes and menu items.

We arrived with a party of 3 at 11:30 on a Sunday and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. It's a big dining room and a little bit loud. I've been making German pancakes at home so didn't want to order them here. We got: - Denver omelette, which is served with hash browns and a biscuit. - French toast combo with bacon. - Lingonberry crepe combo with fruit. It was all good but nothing special, and downside is they serve Pepsi. They were good about refilling our drinks and getting us the check quickly.

German pancake with cherries

We had just arrived in Palm Springs, and wanted to treat ourselves to breakfast out. Based on reviews, Elmer seemed to be the place to go. They do have parking, but it fills up quickly. Luckily, we got there when someone was pulling out, so we nabbed a spot. When we went in, there were quite a few people waiting, yet we were told we would only have to wait five or 10 minutes. We were quickly seated and started to peruse the enormous menu. The minute I saw the German pancake, a.k.a. Dutch baby, with Lingonberry butter, I was sold. My boyfriend, a typical eggs and sausage breakfast guy, got a side of the potato pancake to try. The German pancake was to die for! Perfectly cooked, and with the tartness of the lingonberry it was just delicious! I had to snag some of the potato pancake and boy was it great! Silky smooth, crisp on the outside, and just absolutely delicious. A week later, on our last day, we went to Elmer's for a big breakfast as we knew we were not going to be fed on our long flight home. I went for the German pancake again, this time with the cherry topping. It was just as delicious, but if I were to return, I would ask for the cherries on the side. For me, there were way too many cherries on top and the flavor became overwhelming. But I still cleaned my plate! This restaurant is large, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely give this one a try!

Cinnamon Pancakes

On our way home from La Quinta, stopped in Palm Springs for breakfast. First time here, definitely busy for breakfast, was quoted 10 minutes for wait, but was definitely less. Customer service is on point, from the hostess greeting you, to all the waiters, ensuring you have everything you need during your meal. Unique items on the menu, we tried the Chorizo Eggs Benedict and the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, both were delicious! Looking forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu.

There's some indoor seating, but the outdoor spaces are clearly part of the appeal. I ordered the Andouille omelette, which was loaded with flavor and came with a massive mound of avocado that made me happy immediately. The side of bacon was perfectly prepared, which sounds simple until you realize how many places still get bacon wrong. This isn't a flashy breakfast spot. It's just comfortable, welcoming and very well executed. Exactly what we wanted to start the day.

On our journey to Palm Springs my team left the food choices to me since I'm picky. Lol. We showed up on a Wednesday night (note that they do not open Monday and Tuesday), around 4:40 PM. There was already a long line of individuals waiting to get in. There were about 15 people ahead of us. At opening, we were immediately sat down into the second dining room to the right of the restaurant. It gives a different vibe than the main room with its red bench seating and lantern ceiling. Although the benches were high, and the tables were a little low, we managed. Of course, we tried the complementary congee. Which I love, but my colleagues were not a big fan of. We ordered the calamari and the crispy beef noodle. We also ordered the shrimp and mango spring roll, the softshell crab and green papaya salad, and the pork belly lettuce wraps. The shining stars, for my colleagues were the calamari and crispy beef noodle. Followed by the shrimp and mango spring rolls and the softshell crab. The three of us did not enjoy the pork belly at all even though it came recommended. We actually only ate 2 pieces. The food overall was good although we wish we didn't get the pork or at least stuck to our goal of four main dishes. The waitress recommended we get one more and that's when we added the pork. Next time we will go with our gut instinct. One thing that was disappointing on this visit was that when we ordered drinks, one of them came out in a can. We were under the assumption it was a draft pour. For $14 it should have been noted that it is canned. The way that it is written into the menu no one would assume otherwise.

Are Burgers and Martinis a thing? Well friends and foodies.... Yes they are!…read more One of the best dirrrrty martinis I have had paired PERFECTLY with the double-smash burger (with cheese). Crinkle-cut fries did not miss. Definitely worth the drive - but isn't PS always worth the drive? I can't say enough nice things.... but what I can say definitely go if you love martinis, & you love burgers you will love love love this place. The Heyday is definitely on the smaller side, but makes up for it in ambience. It's just a super chill environment filled with comfortable booths. The service was really great here. Our waiter was super helpful and literally everyone working here came to check and make sure our food was okay and if we needed anything. I tried the martini and burger special and it was absolutely delicious. The meat is cooked perfectly and my martini was refreshing . My husband had the western bacon cheeseburger. He thought it was good, he just wasn't a fan of the amount of sauce on it. We then split the late night fries and the onion rings, both were absolutely to die for. I would definitely recommend eating the late fries right when they come out, since they come sauced they do loose their crisp! Definitely will be dropping by again the next time we are in Palm Springs!
