This was my first time getting something from SC. Someone did a lunch run, and I chose the salad. I mean, really, you can't get that wrong.....right? The presentation of the salad was great; it looked very appetizing and filling. My issue was/is that they may have made it "pretty" to hide what was underneath. The fried onions were a bit too salty, but combined with the other toppings, they were balanced. The additions were fine; however, the chicken was bland and skimpy. It looked like it was one strip, cut into several mini-pieces. Despite the bland taste, the lettuce was the real issue. Unlike the other reviewer, who somewhat said the same about the salad, my lettuce wasn't wilted, but it did taste as if it had not been washed. If it had been washed and it still tasted like that, it should have been thrown away. I ended up doing that, threw it away. When it comes to salads, I'll continue to stick with Chick-fil-A and a few others who always serve great quality salads. read more

We were visiting Mansfield and had a craving for some cheesecake! Slim Chickens is a little scarce on this side of town we are located so it's always nice to visit a popular staple . I had ate prior to coming but wanted to alleviate my sugar craving . Stopped through the drive through and I had the cherry cheesecake and some of my wife's fries . The cherry cheesecake was above average , however I disliked the bottled cherries it came with( tasted artificial ). It threw me off because it went from tasty to dissatisfying so I had to eat around the cherries. The fries were fresh and seasoned well. They got my order completely wrong. Gave me someone's else's food after waiting in the drive thru for 25 minutes.

Got a salad here on my lunch break and the lettuce was completely wilted and black and nasty and the cucumbers were slimy. Called the restaurant to let them know and see what I could do and everyone was completely clueless. They said I'd have to wait until manager was there to get info on what to do. OMG!! On 4/5/2025 at about 6:30pm, I ordered (via drive through) the 6-wing meal with the potato salad as my side. The potato salad looked terrible and smelled awful. I didn't even taste it. See the pictures. Once I pulled up to the window...I waited 7 minutes and when I asked what was taking so long for a 6-piece wing meal, the cashier looked at a chubby guy (who she said was the cook) and just turned back to me and giggled. I have been going here for years. Apparently they are under new ownership. Before if you substituted sides that were the same price, no problem. Now it's a $.49 upcharge. Every time I have come here they have gotten the order wrong in the drive thru. Tonight order a 5 strip meal received a 4 strip meal and no sauces when I paid for extra sauces. Canes never messes it up so I guess canes will be the only place to go for this type of meal. read more

Absolute best chicken place. Great wings and tenders- flavorful and juicy. Slim sauce goes with anything. Skip the fries, but you don't need them, because the chicken is so great. This place first appeared on my radar in Waco Texas! The food was wonderfully cooked! The chicken was a bit too salty for my taste. It was prepared fresh and did not appear to have been left hanging out with the warmer. The waffle was fluffy and soft. I wish it could be a little sweeter in taste. I love the juicy ness when you bite into the chicken, the fries are also always well seasoned and perfect. The food comes really quickly and the staff are friendly. Even when I dine in, the restaurant is nice, spacious, I'm comfortable, you can look outside and see the view of the highway. It's a great meet up spot with friends because not only are you satisfied with a good meal but your able to hangout, talk, or watch tv on the little tv set they have hanging up. Slim chickens has always been a great place to eat. I don't what has happened to this restaurant. They have messed up two of my previous orders and now they can't make shakes because their machine is down. On one of the last two orders the chicken was mushy, I won't order from this place again. The young lady was working the front by herself and had her hands full. I waited 40-minutes for my order. The order was ready 5-10 minutes before it was handed to me. I think the order was placed on the rack and the team failed to tell the young lady the order was ready. However , if I were you I would head to Raisin canes and get that 3 finger chicken sandwich for 7.99. Because all slim chickens did was take their regular chicken sandwich and dunk it like 5 times in BBQ sauce, threw some slaw and pickles on it and charged extra. This place is right up my alley, chicken, sauces and fries, yes I'm down for all that. I like it here more than Canes and the Slim Chicken's app rewards you for when you visit so that a benefit as well. I tend to get the 5 piece Tenders deal it's like $8 and change including a drink, and you get two sauces the cayenne ranch is so good, and I usually always get garlic parmesan. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and it was a shame it was only us and one other group in the restaurant. The staff are very friendly and after realising it was our first time there, they brought us out a first timers platter with a chicken tender, chips, coleslaw, mac and cheese and potato salad - it was only small but a nice gesture - they also let us sample some of their dipping sauces - they have about 15. We all had their spicy chicken sandwich which was great but a little on the small side. The fries were tasty, a nice sized portion.
