Not because I didn't like what I purchased, but mainly because their food is really greasy. I purchased a single catfish, and I was surprised to see that you have to pay for tartar sauce. I understand wanting additional sauces, but goodness, isn't that an addition to the fish? Odd. The fish was delicious and was perfectly cooked. However, it was very greasy. I couldn't eat it all at once, the grease was too heavy. How people are able to eat a basket of their fried food is beyond me; I'd be down for days and miserable. Back in this place once again. I'm going to complain about the price everytime but it is so dang good. I was greeted upon entering and like always I'm welcomed inside a very clean establishment. Very well maintained. Tonight I got a 3 wing basket with collard greens as my side. I went with red kool-aid for a drink and my goodness it was sweet just like when I was a kid. Eek!! IYKYK. Just like the one I Desoto, come here for the food, not the friendly customer service bc it doesn't exist. The cashier was nice... nothing over the top but when we asked for the fan to be turned off bc it was a cold day in April and a major chill was coming from the constant opening/ closing of the entry door (everyone comes bc the food is soooo yummy), one of the chefs came out and turned off the fan. Stopped by 2 Neighbors Hot Chicken and the food was definitely good. I had the special with two wings and two pieces of catfish, along with greens and mac & cheese. The hot honey was really tasty and set the chicken off just right. The only downsides were the long wait and the fact that they didn't have the red Kool-Aid I wanted to try. I also wish they offered candy yams on the menu, because that would've rounded things out perfectly. I really like the seasoning they had for "spicy" except I would've liked it to be more spicy (and this is coming from someone with a low spice tolerance). After not visiting for a year went to 2Neighbor on 2751 Broad St. in Mansfield Tx.on Friday October 16th order placed for greens, cream style corn, 3 fried chicken wings and a slice of cake. Picked up between 5 or 5 pm.Order was to go. All was terrible when I was sicken by food. Cake was tasted as months old stale The corn tasted like the cake icey was added to corn. The service was very bad. They were rude dismissive and very unengaging. They all was so not interested in working or serving. Wanted to try this much talked about spot. To start with it is 2 Neighbors Southern Chicken. Not hot chicken. Seems to be some confusion for folks. It's a small place, with 5 or six tables inside and a couple outside. It's clean, bright and has great music in the background:) Staff were super friendly, even with a line out the door. It's chicken and catfish, with some great sides and cakes. Everything super fresh. It takes a minute to get your order because it's cooked fresh. Be patient, it's worth the wait. Seasoned just right without going overboard on salt. The fried chicken (I had a leg and thigh) was a solid portion, super juicy, and the crust was spot-on. Well, I tried this place for my birthday. It was definitely worth it although I came in kinda late and they told me they would not have chicken and then later on they found some so I was very happy about that chicken was crispy tasteful both the regular and the spicy! The place is very small which makes seating if you are lucky enough to get one very uncomfortable. The line to order runs right through the middle of the seating. The dining area was unattended. We had to clean off our own table. The wait was extremely long and the meals are over priced for what we received. 3 piece wings (very small wings) with french fries, a slice of bread and a couple of pickle chips was $14. Two piece leg and thigh was $11 with a $1 up charge to sub the French fries for creamed corn. Side of mac n cheese $5 and they were out of the greens which is one of the main things we wanted to try. Bottle of water $2 and bottle of coke $3. Actually asked for coke zero twice, ordered was acknowledged by the cashier, paid but was given diet coke (not the same thing) also it would have to be 2 mini bottles instead of 1 reg bottle. They were out of the regular size, We opted for a reg bottle of coke. The taste of the chicken was good but the temp was not hot. Catfish perfectly seasoned and fried. Did not taste fishy at all. Real Southern fried catfish. The wings OMG you could taste the garlic in the seasoning. The fries were crispy and cooked perfectly and the Mac and cheese, also good. They were out of greens and desserts but with the foot traffic at this place I wasn't surprised. I will definitely drive back to Mansfield from Forney for the food but next time I will be sure to add photos. Oh and the young ladies at the front taking orders, give those ladies a Raise!
