Best fried fish I've had in DFW! I went here because a guy I follow online raved about his experience here and they are right up the road from me. I ordered a chicken thigh, wing, fried fish and Mac n cheese with their signature butter cake on the side. Fried chicken- Really good fried chicken! I got mild and it was plenty spicy. I don't care for the traditional dry Nashville hot rub and this was not that so I was happy about that. It was crunchy, flavorful and juicy. Fish- 9.6/10!!! Great flavor, cooked to perfection and just the right amount of heat. Next time I go back will be for the catfish basket. Mac n Cheese- Did not hit... extremely cheesy but possibly too much. I know that doesn't make sense but as a Mac n cheese fan, jt was too cheesy. Butter Cake- I'm not usually a fan of butter cake but the guy said it's their best seller so I tried it. It was delicious! I got the 2-piece fish basket with medium spice, and I wasn't expecting it to be so good! Crispy, seasoned perfectly, and that spice hit just right. Not too hot, just enough to make it exciting. An associate of mines door dasher me some strips from this establishment and I must say they have some fantastic strips . Skin was nice and crispy, but once you break into the strip the meat was so moist and nicely seasoned. Crinkled fries are my favorite and this place did not disappoint with having crinkled fries and season to perfection. The hot things on their menus are the chicken sandwich, the chicken tenders even the fried fish. Today I kept it simple I got the chicken sandwich with coleslaw inside some macaroni and cheese. Also they had eight piece chicken tenders and I got it medium. Medium was pretty hot to me I want it bottled water I actually went to other places there looking for some bottled water but I wound up coming back getting a bottle of water and Kool-Aid First macaroni and cheese was mid-level at best. It was not as good as the person is counter said it was but I did mix it with some fries and chicken tenders and the sauce lol the chicken sandwich was very tasty with that coleslaw it was top level. The chicken tenders were well done that crust on it with that sauce was a little bit hotter than I thought it was but I ate them all. And washing it down with that delicious Kool-Aid. My blood sugar cause me to start an instant 24-hour fast. Plus I went to the park and walked at least a mile. Overall this is definitely a place that I would like to come back and try more things and probably bring friends and family too in the future. Well, it's very RARE that I make a comment about any establishments, especially when I make an asserted effort to support black businesses & meaning across town + the recommendations from a food blogger .. I'm completely, and totally let down with the HORRIBLE AND UNCOUTH customer service and care I received, especially being that I drove over 40 minutes, and having a fellow local Dallas chef to give it a try!! I guess I wasn't the typical "blue print" of the fellas, in the back making SLY comments, that they didn't think I heard! The music was way too loud (almost yelling to place my order). And having to pick my order up outside - who does that!!? The tenders were good, however, there absolutely no Mac & Cheese. And, after seeing the staff washing pots and pans from the window that I had to pick up my food wasn't too inviting either. DO BETTER, please . I have been to this spot twice now, and both times it was absolutely delicious! Their chicken is fried to a crispy perfection. The seasoning is delicious, but not overdone. I came across this place on TikTok and Yelp and I'm sooo glad I did!! The chicken sandwich was so flavorful, crispy and cooked to perfection. The Mac n cheese was also on point. I just went here for the first time. The staff is friendly and the Hot everything looked clean. I decided to try the Hot Chicken Sandwich because a friend asked me to because she lives far away and wanted to know if it was good. I ordered a medium because I wanted to taste the meat more than the heat for a first try. Because they do not cook it until you order it there was a wait. The sign says 20 minutes but it is really only around 10 minutes. The Chicken Sandwich is excellent. The sandwich was bigger than I thought it would be. And to be honest it is the best chicken sandwich that I have tasted to date. My wife wanted to try it and after she tasted it she wanted on in mild. So back I went to get one for her. I wanted to see what a mild would taste like and I was surprised to see it was still full of flavor. I will get the hot next time. My wife ordered fries and they are the best fries I have tasted. Clearly they are seasoned fries. But they are much better than the fries that were my favorite prior to tasting these. Is it worth the $7.00 price? Yes... yes it is. I have paid that much for sandwiches that was smaller and did not taste as good. You are getting a great tasting sandwich which for many people are going to be two meals. So yes the price is fair. This is in the DeSoto Grow Market and they had a musician performing pretty well. We ordered a 3 piece wing basket Double OG heat and tenders mild basket. The food takes an incredibly long time, possibly longest I've ever waited on to go food. Since it took around 45 minutes we just left instead of eating at the tables set up like a food court. I also got a Kool Aid and it was really good, I get my wings home and they're absolutely amazing. Possibly the best chicken I've ever eaten, the outside was so flavorful and inside it was so moist. This is a hidden gem, nestled inside the Grow DeSoto Market Place. The sandwiches are made to order with your choice of spice. We elected to go with the Double OG spice, which was pretty good. The sandwiches are huge with the meat extending well beyond the bun. The sauce,coleslaw, and pickles added the perfect "sumptim sumptim" to finish it off. The fried okra was tasty and cooked just right and the 7-up cake was delish! The only thing keeping me from rating higher was the Mac & Cheese. I found this to be shockingly bad. It tasted like it was prepared with powdered cheese with a little of the real stuff sprinkled on top to fool us. Welp, we ain't buying it! Come on, y'all know we don't play about our Mac& Cheese.
