I can truly appreciate how their food is made when ordered especially any of the fried items versus other chicken spots that usually keeps a certain amount of fried food cooked but kept warm under a lamp or in a steam table . And not that I'm complaining because I can understand fully why that's done when certain items are high in demand. I'm just simply acknowledging and appreciating that JJ fish & chicken will have you wait to get fresh out the grease. This was not my first time at this establishment. However, it was my first time having their fish . I ordered the fried whole catfish on the side which it was explained and encouraged that I get the meal because the price wouldn't change . To me personally, that's great customer service to encourage your customers or even just let them know about the price so that they can better make a decision and moneys worth . I also orders the 5 piece tenders meal and the 4 piece whole wing meal. All came out fire hot and you could smell the fresh grease and seasonings through the tire tight bag. The crunch was perfect on everything that I bit into. Another thing that I noticed and appreciated to the fullest is how they don't fry all their foods in the same cooking grease. it was nice to eat my chicken and it not have a hint or seafood attached to it . You can tell about people frequent there , just by the number of people I seen come in there, during my 30 mins wait . The cashier was really sweet and fast . I watched as she would jump from register to register making transactions at the same time, while taking walk in orders , pick up orders , check on orders and answer the phone and get over the phone orders. She did so nonstop within my 30 mins wait and did so so effortlessly and so kindly. Another worker, maybe he was the manager or the cook would often come out and help her get the orders out accordingly. It was really a simple but yet great experience . The fish was so good to me that I will be back to try their other types of fish. On the Menu I believe I saw whiten, tilapia , ocean perch, buffalo, and different cuts / pieces of catfish. STOCKTON LOCATION I heard so much about this franchise. I had to try the fish. I went to the Stockton location last week and found the Buffalo fish fantastic. I called my immediate family and told them of this discovery due to our love of Buffalo fish. My mother request 2 orders for her 83rd birthday on May 28, 2022. I proceeded to acknowledge her request and went on May 28, 2022. I ordered 3 large orders of Buffalo fish which came to $49 and some changed. I tucked the orders in an igloo due to the long ride to my mothers. Once at my mothers, the orders went into the fridge. Later in the evening we went to eat and found the fish to be unrecognizable. Was this Buffalo fish? The pieces were so thin, we thought the orders had gotten mixed up with someone else's. The pieces looked like fillets. We have been eating Buffalo for a total combined total of years of 185 years. What was this? My mother was upset and dismayed. For almost $50 dollars we received maybe $20 worth of fish. Speaking with Mike (manager), he informed me, "this was the new product sent from the suppliers". He also stated, it had been brought to the that attention of the owner. Well, I believe this information should of been shared with the customer when ordering. I AM SO DISSATISFIED! Should have known better. Tried the combo hot garlic sauce and it was overcooked, which made everything a bit mushy. Aside from a bit of heat the sauce was just a muddy mix of bland flavors with no sign of any garlic. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out of a can. The fried rice was as pathetic as others have commented with way too much soy sauce and just a few peas and carrots that most certainly came frozen in a bag. The egg roll was simply inedible. Also got some onion rings on the side, which had far too much breading making the onion and the inside of the breading a mushy paste rather than crisp and firm. And the breading was completely devoid of any seasoning, even salt. At least what they lack in quality is made up for in quantity. They packed the box full and it was noticeably heavy for having onion rings in it. And if that weren't bad enough, the prices are too high for what you get. The ONLY thing that saves this from being a one-star review is that I didn't get sick eating it. read more

Absolutely perfectly fried wings and fish! Also, seasoned just right and not too salty. I've been to this restaurant several times as well as the other location and I've never been disappointed. Also, I appreciate the fact that they do not fry seafood in the same oil / basket as the chicken or fries because my daughter has a severe seafood allergy. There's plenty of room to sit in and eat but we usually call to order for pick up; service is always fast and efficient as well as friendly (especially the owner who is wonderful & very customer service oriented). For the Pleasant Run Location: NOT RIGHT FOR YOU OR ME! Customer Service: This was my first time visiting this establishment. I ordered the lunch special, fried green tomatoes (sold by the slice, which is weird) and a crab cake. In the display area, there were cakes and several different homemade sauces. I inquired about the tartar sauce and was assured tartar sauce would come with my order. I paid for my food. A recommendation was made for me to try the kool aid and brownie. I made a second purchase for a combined purchase total of over $20.00. When my food came I checked the bag for tartar sauce and it consisted of packages, so I requested the homemade tartar sauce and was informed it would be 81 cents. I only had a card and was told I would need to spend at least $5.00 to use my debit card; to which I was immediately appalled. I asked if she could just give it to me and she replied, "no". I asked if a manager was on duty and reiterated that I was a 1st time customer. I was informed that a manager was not on duty. The clerk walked away. Food Review: They advertised catfish fillets, but the fish I received was not catfish. The fake catfish had average seasoning and a mediocre flavor with an oily unsavory coating. The shrimp was overly battered and overcooked. The crab cake was made with imitation crab and greatly missed the mark. The kool aid was okay and the brownie was good.
