We were in the Mansfield area to get our monthly haircuts and just finished up with our barber around lunchtime. So, it was time to figure out what we wanted for lunch. We tossed around a few suggestions and decided to stop at Cotton Patch Cafe since it was on the way home and wasn't out of the way. The restaurant, being a Saturday afternoon, wasn't busy at all. We were greeted with smiles and shown to our table. Rachael, our server greeted us and took our drink orders, unsweetened iced tea all the way around. One of the issues I have with Cotton Patch Cafe's menu is there are SO many awesome choices. It's hard to make a decision. Rachael checked back in with us and we had a chance to visit with her. We learned she had recently moved to Mansfield from New Mexica. We chatted about our last trip to New Mexico and all the fun we had while visiting the state. Finally, we made our choices. My wife ordered the small chicken tenders' basket with fries. I decided on the small chicken fried steak accompanied with garlic mashed potatoes, and Cotton Patch's incredible baked squash. It was a leisurely time catching up of how both of our previous week had gone. We're so busy during the week, we're sometime like passing ships in the night. Rachael arrived at our table with our piping hot entrees. My wife's chicken strips were so hot, she broke them into so they could cool down. My wife said they were awesome, and her fries were fried to perfection. My chicken fried steak was one of the crispest I've ever enjoyed. It was fried perfection just like my wife's fries. What can I say about the squash casserole, it was delightful as well as the garlic mashed potatoes with the jalapeno cream gravy. The manager even dropped by to see if all was OK. We said it was! Grew up going to Cotton Patch Cafe and I haven't been for years. Decided to go for a Monday one day and their special was the chicken fried steak. The price can't be beat. Service was great. The amount of food is insane, I had leftovers. I suggest you get the CFS because it was delicious! Will return for another special when I'm craving a CFS. read more

Corn, baked squash, green beans, cornbread dressing and black-eyed peas for me. Everything came out hot. The corn, squash and beans were all good and not over-seasoned. The dressing had a generous amount of sage and was topped with gravy -- very tasty. The peas could've been cooked a tad longer and seasoned a bit more (bacon?), IMO. Overall, the food was well above average (as compared to other CP's and most Cracker Barrels). The service from Samantha was quick, efficient and friendly. On a Thirsday night at 545 me & my daughter sat down, no wait. After 12 minutes of waiters walking by us, no one even acknowledged us. I had 50 minutes to eat and it was not possible after 15 minutes wasted before ordering drinks or being given bread. I ordered dinner from the cotton patch Café because I wanted to eat a full meal turkey dressing and green beans baked sweet potato. I have never tasted food that taste tasted this bad before it is so nasty and dry and bitter to eat. It was making me physically ill, so of course after two or three bites I had to throw it there was nothing I can do with it. I've never tasted dressing that taste bitter. That's a new thing. They have a very beautiful picture of the baked sweet potato on their ad but when you get it, it looks like a shriveled up prune. This has been a very, very unhappy experience. read more

Outstanding burgers, fries, okra, and rolls. Everything seasoned perfectly. Best bacon cheeseburgers we have had in a long time. Our server was great and very attentive. Clean bathrooms and restaurant. We stopped coming to this location about 8 months ago due to service, but maybe management changed because everything was spot on. For Christmas I ordered family size sides of cornbread dressing and broccoli rice casserole because they let me order last minute and the family loved the dishes. After my last review, someone reached out and asked me to fill out a form regarding my experience. I did, and then someone named Nathan emailed me, apologizing for our experience and offered to mail me certificates for free entrees if we gave them another chance. I replied with my address and have not received a thing. That was in May, and now we're halfway through July. I gave them another chance on my own dime and tried this location a few Thursdays ago, again. Service was better, but this waitress was not informed of the menu and kept misinforming me about menu items. I asked specifically if a certain meal could be made without mushrooms, and she told me sure. Guess who's plate came to me with more mushrooms than meat? She also got my sides wrong and took forever to bring out things when we asked for them. I used to not be a fan...but maybe it's just that I'm not a fan of the one in Granbury. The Mansfield location has won me over! I don't know how you prepare your ribeyes but keep on with your bad selves I love it! And I was never ever a fan of broccoli rice but again I am now! Very disappointed in my dining experience we had a new or inexperienced server who wasn't attentive and took a really long time to take drink and appetizer order. After passing our table numerous times she finally brought appetizers they were completely cold. After another long wait she took our food order but wasn't able to answer any questions we had about menu I ask to speak to another server and as I was asking the other server a simple question she raised her voice and talked over me. I ask to speak to Mgr. the server turned around yelled "ugh" and stomped away. The Mgr heard her but didn't not immediately come to the table. After a few minutes he came to the table and made excuses for her saying she came to work but was dealing with something so kinda just look over her attitude. Then Mgr said but hey we have some great food y'all ready to order let me get a server. I was ready to leave but was with guests that had traveled a long way so they wanted to stay. My husband and I hadn't been to Cotton Patch for a couple of years. It was great to go back today for lunch. Our waitress, Mariah, greeted us at the door with a friendly smile and seated us. She brought out fresh rolls straight out of the oven immediately for us to snack on while we decided on what to order. My husband had the Turkey club with fries and I had the Turkey and stuffing meal with a baked sweet potato and broccoli cheese rice casserole. My husband said his sandwich didn't have any flavor and proceeded to add salt and pepper to give it something. The Turkey and stuff meal was a lot of food and I found it to be yummy. Mariah put the fixin's for my sweet potato on the side so that I could customize it myself. There was so much food that I gave half of the meal to my hubby for him to eat and we boxed up half of meal to take home. Excellent service and good food. Remember the days when Cotton Patch was crowded, the food was fresh and properly cooked, and your servers were prompt, courteous and helpful. No more. You simply can't count on a good experience - often you leave telling yourself I'm never coming back. In the last couple of years we've had servers that tried very hard and did a good job, but most have been indifferent, inattentive and act like they are being punished. The food is a toss up, you might get tricked one time with some good food but most likely it is terrible. Most of the time it tastes like it's leftover from the previous day. I met my mom here for lunch . The waitress was very friendly and hard working considering there was only two for the whole place. There are a wide variety of options available so everyone in your group should find something they like. I got grilled pork chops that comes with two chops !! I get a double order of cinnamon apples and a baked potato.. I cut the potato in half and eat half of the apples and one pork chop and then I have another emailed to for later !! It's a good deal . We love Cotton Patch- my husband normally orders from the app and has no issues. I ordered under Yelp which was delivered by Grub Hub. When my order arrived. We were missing 3 items and had an incorrect item I called the restaurant to let them know and I was totally dismissed by the man that answered the phone. He pretty much said too bad- it's Grub Hub's fault. No apology or solution. He seemed inconvenienced and irritated. I was very put off my his shortness By the way, I did call GH after and had wonderful customer service and was refunded for the missing items. Cotton Patch should take notes from them. Tonight 10/27 was the worst experience at this specific restaurant. Walked in door and were sat at table immediately (so that was a good start). It took 10 minutes before server arrived at table to just take drink orders (so was going downhill fast since this server had walked past our table several times, without acknowledging us until they arrived to take drink order). Over the next hour of waiting for food , server never came back to refill any drinks. Upon speaking with server to cancel the order - because we had seen several tables order and and get their food during this time. While looking around , I did observe a small table of two people of color that looked frustrated for over 30 minutes and finally seen server come back with their credit card and receipt to sign and a to-go bag. (I only say this cause we were a table of color) I then took our receipt to the to-go register by the bar to pay and leave. (I now say this because as I walked into the area with my receipt in hand, a male of color asked if I was tired of waiting to pay also and then said he had been waiting to pay for 45 minutes.) And upon looking around another female of color was waiting in the same line to pay and was upset over the wait as well. We used to love this location, now not so much. Ordered To Go on a few occasions and lately the orders have been taking longer than the stated time and there are always missing items and/or wrong items every single time. The last time was our final time. 3 different families ordered and not 1 of them was right. My son-in-law went back after calling and letting them know and even the reorder was wrong. The person at the register was rude and the food quality has gone down. Understand inflation but when the price goes up the quality should stay the same. Just check your orders very carefully before you leave but waiting for correct items then all the food gets cold. read more

What horrible service. Our server Yosef was right down awful. He was all over himself waiting on another table, maybe a regular or something. We waited over 10 minutes for him to return but we had to ask for him. He brought our salads finally and less than 5 minutes later he brings our meals. We were over half done with our meals before we got our rolls. He came by and asked if we needed anything else , I said no just the ticket. He left and never came with it. 10 minutes later I had to go find him and ask again. I found him standing up front. I can't believe this terrible experience. The employee should be fired and management should be evaluated by owner to see if they should have their job or need additional training to be a manager. We've been to this location a few times. Service has always been great. Food is good for the price. This visit wasn't great. First, the service and food were good - pork chop, chicken fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, broccoli rice casserole, and baked potato (dinner rolls are now half the size they used to be). Second and most importantly, the cleanliness at this location is questionable. We always wipe our table off with disinfectant wipes (post pandemic practice). Although the table "appeared" clean, the disinfectant wipes told a very different story. They looked like we had used them to wipe the floor. The initial three sets of flatware had large pieces of food stuck on them, and our server graciously apologized and replaced them. The replacements had food stuck to them too. Before we had to ask, he provided packaged plasticware. Great move! The appetizer plates were filmy too, so we didn't use them. At that point, we asked for to-go cups for our beverages to be on the safe side. The dots are not connecting in a restaurant when customers are presented with dirty dishes. Our server was very kind and apologetic. He should not have to be. Check the sanitary practices at this location. read more

Here having dinner with the family. For Saturday it's odd that we walked in and got a table. The resturant was clean and and the servers very friendly and efficient. Our orders came out very quickly. My Cajun Duo was outstanding The sauce that covered my tilapia shrimp and Crawfish had the right seasoning- spicy but not so spicy that it could not be enjoyed. The shrimp were the size of your forefinger but the girth of your thump. The tilapia was light and nicely seasoned as well. The steamed broccoli was just what I needed. The corn I wished could be served another way- the Little bowl dish was ok but lacked on how easy it would be to eat the corn. Our server was Perfect. She prebussed our tables so empty dishes didn't sit long. Our drinking glasses never emptied. Her name was Tiffany. She again was awesome. read more
