We finally went to Pollo Regio after many years of driving by the locations. The Mansfield location does a good job; the chicken is hot and tastes great. We get a grilled 4 piece chicken dinner and share because it is plenty for two. We only go at lunch time. The sides we get are charro beans and plantains. You also get tortillas and chips. The chicken has a wet texture which makes it messy so I have plenty of napkins. They have a good salsa bar and the habanero onions are hot. The price seems a little high but you do get a lot of food. read more

Although this is a chain restaurant, the quality of the food is always very consistent in all of their restaurants...And always great quality. Yum city! Driving to the drive thru line and opening your car window to order...... W H I F F of that lovely seasoned and grilled chicken scent coming from their ovens was divine. We ordered the half chicken meal for our very first visit to Pollo Regio with some fries for the kids. It was enough for parents and toddlers! The sides were rice and what I thought was bean and ham soup, were actually called charro beans. YO. I would go back just to get a large size container of that. Honestly, it was bean and ham soup to me and that's my favorite soup. Forgive me if charro beans gets offended, but these were absolutely delicious. There was a perfectly cooked whole onion that was added to our chicken, yum times two. What a lovely surprise! I'm happy we're not too far from this Pollo Regio location. We stopped going here because every single time something was wrong with the order. I mean every time. After a year we decided to try again. The salads changed. Gross lol. I just placed an online order and I meant to do it for delivery but accidentally chose pick up. I called and explained. The guy that answered the phone did not say one word, just put the phone down. It was just an open line for over 4 minutes. Then I hear telephone in Spanish. A girl says they have to wait. Another 5 mins pass as I continue to listen. I finally hang up. The only reason they are getting two stars is the food tastes good. I've been here 6 times and 3 of those times my order is wrong. They tie the bags tightly so when you get home you see that your order is wrong. Wife & I were in the area and looking for something to eat after going down the rabbit hole of "what do you want to eat/what sounds good?" This place has become so hit or miss. This time was a huge miss. The chicken wasn't grilled, it was baked in the oven and still was under-cooked. It was super oily. Extreme disappointment. I go to Pollo Regio at least once a week. Last night my wife went to a different location in Mansfield. I could tell it wasn't our usual location. Can you say disappointed? My first issue was with the chicken tacos, which only had a pinch of chicken in them, literally. My carne asada tacos had meat in them but burned. The tortillas on both orders were super greasy. Then there's the half chicken combo. The chicken wasn't seasoned at all. The rice was salty. What happened to my onion? It was like they grabbed random peices of onions that fell off different onions during the grilling process and just threw them in with the chicken. And the green sauce at this location is a joke.
