I'm from California and we know our way around some fine Mexican cuisine but Mama Cuca's was SO good. I spent two of my 4 nights in Midlothian at this restaurant. The grilled and stuffed poblano pepper is an absolute MUST HAVE. I'd never had it before but at the recommendation of our server, I gave it a try. I would have kicked myself if I had passed, it was outstandingly well prepared and flavorful :) But this review isn't actually about the food ... @Jessica and @Paty @Guillermo I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Andrew on my first night at Mama Cuca's and America in the bar on my second night. I've worked in Michelin restaurants in Napa Valley and these two professionals are genuinely absolute ACES in the craft of customer service. I don't write reviews to complain so when i take the time to write these it is because the service or quality was so outstanding that I NEED other people to know so they don't miss out on such an incredible experience. Both America & Andrew had us laughing and enjoying every minute chatting with them. The incredible food, combined with incredible staff ... needless to say I passed along my experiences to the folks I was in town to help with a tech deployment and will be coming back myself in a few months when I'm in town again. THANK YOU SINCERELY, America and Andrew, for providing one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I can recall. I would come back for the food but i will be back multiple nights for this incredible experience. You two ROCK!!!! And Paco, I met you late in the experience but i gotta give you props, from a former bartender at some swanky spots ... you're a REAL ONE my man.

Sadly, you can absolutely tell that management has changed, and the difference in how we were…read moretreated was impossible to ignore. As longtime Black customers, we left feeling completely unwelcome and undervalued. We have been coming to El Primo's for YEARS. I've celebrated special occasions here, including my 25th birthday, so this isn't a review from someone who visited once and decided to complain. We know what the service and atmosphere used to be like, which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where we weren't even offered a refill on chips. My father had to repeatedly ask for water. Our waiter barely checked on us at all and essentially only returned when it was time to bring the check. Meanwhile, we watched the manager make a point to visit and speak with seemingly every other table while completely passing over ours. I cannot speak to anyone's intentions, but I can absolutely speak to how we were treated, and as Black customers, the difference in attention made us feel singled out and unwelcome. After YEARS of supporting this restaurant, that is incredibly disappointing. If this is the level of hospitality the new management considers acceptable, they are going to run a once-great restaurant into the ground. You cannot expect loyal customers to continue supporting a business where they no longer feel valued or even acknowledged.

He made sure our water was filled, food was pleasing, cocktails were made to perfection, and our needs were met. He was super friendly and interjected just enough of himself to make it a great night for us. I ordered the pollo con champiñónes. They were absolutely delicious! It was served up similar to how fajitas traditionally are served, on a hot plate, along with onions, peppers, pico, and cheese. The roasted jalapeño was an added touch. Nice! It came with beans and rice, but I opted for double beans. The beans were flavored good enough, with cheese on top. The table was served with chips and salsa. While the chips were just alright, the salsa was flavorful but not too spicy. Jorge made up our piña coladas and they were SO SO good! They serve the TRADITIONAL ones with crème de coco, rum, and pineapple juice, like what we get in Mexico! No premix in a machine, but the real deal. Super! The ambiance was adorable, not fancy, but very traditional Mexican decor. You can go dressed nicely or casual and feel comfortable here. Try them and enjoy!

I can't believe that I've never before visited Mariano's Hacienda Ranch. I've been missing out on some great Tex-Mex! I knew I was going to have a great meal when I got out of the car and smelled the Mesquite smoke from the grill that Mariano's uses. The food was awesome and delicious. My Margarita was tasty, with a very generous pour of Tequila. The two salsas, traditional and warm chipotle, were fresh, with vibrant flavors of tomatoes, chilies, onions, cilantro. The guacamole was the perfect combination of avacado, lime, salt, cilantro, and onion. Our queso came with dollops of sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and Picadillo ground beef. My lovely Wife had 3 Shrimp en Brochette with a Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada. She was overjoyed with her flavorful Mariano's Hacienda Ranch Tex-Mex dinner! I was so very happy with my delicious Beef Fajitas (they used tender outside skirt steak) with onions and peppers, all grilled over Mesquite coals. The flavors of Mesquite permeated my fajitas with smoky, sweet goodness, while the marinated meat was grilled perfectly over high heat, to yield juicy, seared, melt-in-your-mouth, beef flavor. Service was friendly and professional. Our meal was relatively inexpensive, offering great value for the high quality of the very tasty Tex-Mex cuisine. I have a new favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Arlington/North Texas. I offer my highest recommendation of Mariano's Hacienda Ranch in Arlington, Texas, at Hwy 360 & Majesty Drive. I can't wait to go back (especially for the Mesquite grilled Tex-Mex meals).
