Torchy's Tacos absolutely was a Wednesday Night Mom /Son Dinner Hit! We started with the green chile queso with chorizo, served with tortilla chips. I love that they offer a half-size option because it was the perfect amount without overdoing it. For tacos, my son went with the Trailer Park "Trashy"by adding queso and removing lettuce, with fried chicken, green chiles, pico de gallo, mixed cheese, and poblano sauce on a flour tortilla. Deliciously messy and exactly his thing. I had the Tipsy Chick with marinated and grilled chicken, spinach, grilled corn relish, green chiles, and mixed cheese with chipotle sauce on a flour tortilla, served with a side of bacon bourbon marmalade. OMG.....the marmalade took the taco to the next level! I ate it so fast that I immediately regretted not ordering two. We also shared a secret menu item, the Mad Cow, marinated and grilled steak, refried pinto beans, grilled corn relish, mixed cheese, and cilantro with chipotle sauce. Fastest food ever! Ive been here a few times on lunch break, always in a time crunch for some reason, and I have never been late back to work. This place is so fast and the kiosk is convenient. I literally was rushing back to work with 10 min left and I walk in at 2:51, ordered, ate, and was out of there, I kid you not, at 2:55. Made it back to work at 3:00. If I'm ever in a time crunch for quick lunch, Torchys is there for me. The food is pretty good, I haven't had a bad meal yet and one or two tacos are pretty filling for lunch. More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up. It's a Tex Mex place and it was my first time having it in Texas and not in California (which would have just made it Mexican Fusion or CA-Mex, I have no idea if that even correctly exists either). My friend highly recommended their green chile queso here and it gave our non-Texan group the chance to try a franchise that doesn't exist on the coast. We shared the: 1) Green Chile Queso + Chips: -This is one of the few times I've had it where the chip ratio was lower than the sauce ratio at any given restaurant, usually they try to fill you up on chips so there's less room for the other stuff, but this works too, just wish there was more chips to enjoy with the queso. -It's their award winning green chile queso topped with guac, cotija cheese, cilantro and diablo sauce. Nice mix of creamy, sour, and slightly spicy. -Great recommendation by our friend, by the way, would easy buy a jar of this for consuming later on. 2) Trailer Park: -Loved the advertising that went with this taco. Keeping it trashy since 2006, haha. -It's a real junk food type of taco, if the name didn't imply that already. -It's fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, mixed cheese, poblano sauce, all on top of a flour tortilla. -A mess to eat, but hits the spot if you need something greasy to keep you going. -I don't think it's worth the cost, and there's other things on the menu I'd rather try out, but for a quick bite before flying out, it did its job. And they have bored employees wandering around who couldn't care less. The lady in front of us was obviously having issues and it took her 15 min to order. Tried Torchy's for the first time and it was great. I can't remember all the tacos we tried, but they were all yummy in their own way. The brisket was one of my faves though and the trailer park. The ambiance is superb; perfect for a friends night out, date night, or post game hang out. The service was quick even though everything is made to order. The drinks are very well mixed and prices right. The tacos are generously stuffed. I ordered 3 and could only eat half of each one. My husband finished all of his. So, if you have a big appetite - you'll be satisfied. If you can't eat large amounts in one sitting - you'll have snack for later. The food is VERY well seasoned and spiced. It was fine but one lady there was keeping her eyes on us, and like watching our every move. We got water cups because I didn't want to pay $10 on 3 cups and 2 of us filled it up will not water. I got up to fill up my cup with tea and the lady ( that has been keeping an eye on us) says " hey it's water cup so fill it up with water not tea!" Damn! I used to think that Torchy's Taco was overrated but the more often I go, the more I like it. My favorite taco whether I'm eating ovo-lacto-vegetarian or not is the MoFaux which has the beyond beef with green chilies, grilled corn, peppadew peppers, avocado, cilantro, and diablo sauce. Two - Three tacos is the right amount for me. I recently learned that you can get half orders of queso and guacamole which makes me feel less guilty when eating. We came here for Cinco de Mayo and was surprised at how quite it was, it was basically dead and started to get busier as we left. This was my first time at this location. Between us we ordered the Baja shrimp, fried chicken, barbacoa and smoked brisket as well as queso, guac and chips. My husband thought the tacos were going to be small street tacos hence why he ordered four! But the tacos are a pretty decent size, two tacos and chips and dips was enough for me. We actually ended up taking some of the dips to go and one taco. The food was really good though, the guac was pretty simple but fresh and tasty. The green chile queso was great as well, had a nice spice to it and different from regular queso. My shrimp taco was plentiful of shrimp, and does get messy when you add the sauce - I would like an unfried version. The fried chicken was good, we both "got it trashy" aka queso instead of lettuce but I couldn't really tell it was on there tbh next time I'll probably just stick with the lettuce. Both the beef tacos were "fire" as my husband described them and held up well for lunch the next day! As I said the place was dead on arrival but staff hadn't been cleaning tables, there was baskets and glasses left everywhere. I also didn't like that you had to order your food separate from your alcohol and when I was at the bar ordering our margaritas our food came out at the same time and I wanted to eat that but was stood waiting on the bartender. It would be good if you could order altogether and they give you a ticket you take up to the bartender or you take a number and the bartender delivers the drinks to your table. For a quick service place when you add alcohol drinks and sides the meal does get a little expensive. read more

Sat at the bar with my 4 co workers for a team dinner. I ordered a couple different cocktails along with guacamole and 4 different tacos. This was actually my second time to Torchy's. I went to one in Austin about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. The funky-named tacos all feature different fillings from salmon, tuna, barbacoa, carnitas, and more. There is also a monthly revolving taco, this one was a Thanksgiving inspired turkey filled one. Service was fine. Our bartender/waitress was pretty consultative with what we should order. I was pretty hungry and I also eat a lot so 4 tacos was good for me, but a meal could easily be only 3. Very reasonably price for sizable tacos. Glad I made a return trip. read more

The area is great because there is so many other things you can do after eating here. On Monday, August 26, 2024 went to this place with 4 friends. The food was OK but the restrictions for ordering a beer is ridiculous. Our ages are 73,69,69,65 and 65, and we all look our age. One of the friends who was 69 could not even get a beer because his drivers license was expired, even though his photo ID looks exactly like him, (the soonest appointment for his license renewal is in November, TXDOT sucks). My other friend bought my dinner so I went to hold a table. He came to the table with dinner and one beer - he was told one beer to a customer. They never said call your friend up here and let me see his ID nothing. However, the other 69 year old went to the bar and was able to get two beers. I spoke to the on duty manager who tried to tell us it was a state policy, which we told her was not true so she changed it to it is a company policy. Torchy's Tacos management, you might want to rethink your policies, especially for senior citizens who are being carded for proof of age. read more

PROS: So good! The queso was honestly the best, definitely add the chorizo. Also really good salsas! The taco combos all sounded amazing and their "prawn star" taco of the month with shrimp ceviche was my favorite. CONS: I wish the corn tortillas were grilled and a little more crisp and that the jalapeños were fresh instead of pickled. The avocado was also not the most fresh on the tacos, but still tasty! Soda fountain was out of the punch I wanted so that wasn't great.. Didn't try the alcoholic drinks but those sounded great/happy hour specials seemed good as well! DE-Lish!!! Oh my goodness, the most delicios taco I have ever had. I got the "Vegabond" which is the April taco of the month. It had the most flavorful steak on it with bacon, cilantro,queso fresco, grilled onions. It is a rather odd combo but so freakin good. That taco and a handful of chips with queso and I was done, full! The inside of this location is really lit up and modern decor. (I think) It was clean and we got there early enough to be able to put some table together for our group of ten! I only had water to drink but heard there are some very different flavored drinks to get here also. They had a "coke" machine that I think said Maine "something." I didnt really even go over there and look at it so I have no clue what type of stuff it is, only what the people I was with were saying. Bathroom - didnt visit (dont like public restrooms, although I dont wear a diaper either!) When I went up to order, the employee taking my order was nice and smiling and got the order right so that is always a plus. We had a great experience at Torchy's and Ilook forward to visiting again in the near future!
