They have a really great deal for taco Tuesday for 5 tacos and a drink (agua fresca included) for only $10!! We got the extra large elotes, two taco Tuesday deals with Horchata and watermelon agua frescas All the food was hot and fresh. This is definitely the spot to go to if you want authentic taste. Great nachos, I like their quesadilla plate, lots on it. Love their street tacos and green salsa is great! Also their fruit selection is great and always looks fresh. However, today I ordered Uber Eats from them and was very disappointed in their Carne Asada- tasted low quality and fatty, almost like liver, instead of steak. I picked up my recent meal and it was not great, the Pollo Asado plate. Beans and rice lacked spice, no salt at all! The chicken and veggies were good but overall not pleased. Corn tortillas were ok. :( Last year, this same plate was Amazing! Not sure when I will try this place again. read more

Overall very good place with variety of Mexican food and Tex Mex including California burrito which is a carne asada burrito with fries inside. I wish there was a little more spice to the burrito but they have salsas to help with that. The restaurant is small but not too busy. They also have very good desserts including a vast variety of handmade popsicles, fresas con crema, chocolate covered bananas, churros and ice cream. I was craving some street tacos and the place that I typically go to was closed today. I decided to look for another spot. This place has 4.8 stars on Google, so I thought let me give it a chance. Btw one street taco cost $2.91. I feel like that was kind of pricey for street taco but on Tuesday's they have a deal, five for $10 including a drink, so that's what I got. I got pastor, steak, and chicken. Like I said, I felt like the meat was dry, the corn tortillas could've been cooked longer, I felt like they were barely on the grill. The sauce was spicy, which I like. For my drink, I got the strawberry limeade, which was good. I don't think I'll be back because you only get one chance to mess up street tacos for me. First time visiting Taqueria Taco Express....very impressed. You order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. The service was very good, very pleasant. I ordered the Agua de Limon and it was tart and very refreshing. I also ordered the Carne Asada. They gave a la he portion of Carne and it was delicious! The meal comes with lettuce, avocado, onions, and lime. It also comes with rice and beans. The beans were thinner than others, but the flavor is good. The rice was a little bland. The salsas were a little too spicy, but I will admit I didn't go ask to see if there was a milder one (I will next time). Definitely worth more visits!! BTW - they have ice cream! read more

Really good tacos, the steak & barbacoa is all I've tried and beware it is pretty greasy. Their prices are a bit high for the portion you get, however on taco Tuesday 5 for $10 tacos including flavored water is a good deal. They also have normal large taco bundles like 20 for $29.99 everyday which is nice because I'm tired of driving to the Westside FTW to get good tacos! Both times i visited, Julie was on top of the front counter, managing walk in orders, to go orders, and giving everybody excellent service with a friendly smile. Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine, salsas are made fresh and very flavorful. I had a Torta first visit today, and it was great. Served with fries it is a delicious & filling meal at a good price. Too many other places try to pinch their pennies by reducing serving size which makes no sense to me, cause isn't everything bigger in Texas? Amazing food! We were driving around looking for a new food place to try! We passed this and then turned right around. My boyfriend went in first to check out the menu and then he came out with his approval. We ordered the California Burritos and Flautas plate! We love authentic Mexican food and this is it! The burritos were huge and very filling! The flautas plate also came with rice and beans! Customer service was A1 and everyone was friendly! The last few times I've ordered delivery, they don't center the food container in the bag. When the delivery driver grabs the handles of the bag, the container turns vertical, and beans, rice, Enchiladas, etc. become a big pile at the edge of the container.
