Ok so first off Mariana (not sure if I spelled that right) is a gem. I'm going through a tough time rn and had the night with my best friend who I hadn't seen in a while. I have a dairy allergy so she was so sweet when she checked out the dish I wanted letting me know about the butter and what they could take off and that I couldn't have the rice. I always get fajitas at Mexican places so no rice wasn't a big deal to me. We chatted about my other job and I recommended her some stuff since our menu is so large and intimidating to some. The place was super cute and it was funny they say us next to the bar bc I was not there to play games. I didn't even have to ask for my shots chilled and the margs were a perfect balance of sweet and sour. I feel like I might find myself going back every time I get my Nails done bc that's why I was over there my nail lady is in Mansfield. read more

Average Tex Mex at best. Being generous giving 3 stars. Large parking lot & restaurant with bar area. We sat at table in bar area. A big bowl of light & crispy (like Chuys) chips was brought to the table along with a bowl of good mild picante sauce and small ramekin of a spicy smoked hot sauce. It was a bit before our waitress came to take our drink orders. Getting served hot sauce & chips without having a drink on table or quickly thereafter is one of my pet peeves. Once drinks ordered, they came quickly. Unfortunately the draft beer was warm and flat so I had to return it for a bottle. She was polite about it. Then a hostess brought us menus. We ended up with the SAMPLER PLATTER so we could try a couple things. You get two chicken flautas, 2 beef fajita nachos, & 2 chicken quesadillas with sour cream, guac, diced tomatoes & pickled jalapeños. The chicken quesadillas were pretty good. My husband got a bone in his but we appreciated that hopefully means they're making them fresh in the kitchen. The fajita beef on the nacho was good but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The chicken flautas were blah - over fried with small amount of dry chicken inside. The guacamole was good. There are too many other good places around to spend our hard earned money at. We went at happy hour time. Service was fast & friendly. The chips were light & crunchy. I loved the hot spicy salsa. We shared a chicken quesadilla meal, which comes with 2 cups of sides (can be substituted), a bed of lettuce, diced tomatoes, a small scoop of guacamole & small scoop of sour cream. We subbed the rice & refried beans with a cups of charro beans at no extra cost. We got a box for 3 pieces of the quesadillas. The quesadillas were pretty good, tasty. Chicken was a bit dry, but the toppings mediated this. The cup of charro beans had generous amount of beans, so it was quite filling! Flavor was not bad, not the best I've had. The lime margarita on the rocks was great, $5.95, worth going back for! We split the bill, $14.54 each person before tips. The place was clean, spacious with colorful Latino theme. Really good and great service when my Laura and Jackie were together on Saturdays at the bar. Now seeing a lady with a really obnoxious behavior and seeing her struggling to keep the bar up and going is stressful, even as a patron. It feels like it's mostly flirting than customer service. I would haver given 4 stars for the food only. But the service was not great. We made reservations for our party of 12 our waiter could not handle the group. He didn't check on anyone after delivering the food. Not to see if we needed drinks, dessert, the check.... We had to call him over for the basic things. I wasn't impressed at all by the food here. The parking lot is always full so I thought it meant the food was good. I was wrong. Chips were stale and salsa had no flavor (I tried to add salt to help it along). Hubby had the chicken nachos and they were oaky. The sour cream enchiladas landed flat. No flavor, just blah. Mansfield really struggles with quality Mexican restaurants. There are other places far better than this if you're open to leaving Mansfield. read more

Seems like a busy spot in Mansfield. I had to try TexMex because I'm used to TJ / San Diego Mexican food. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone. The service was good. They gave me Chips and 2 salsas, and I preferred the hotter salsa. I ordered traditional beef and chicken hard-shell tacos. Meh, the tacos were ok. It did lack flavor. I should've ordered other dishes. Next time around, I will. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I also noticed that there are regular patrons. The bar staff knew them. read more

First time visiting when a friend recommended it after a game in the area. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area so I was surprised at the recommendation, but wow! This was a great place for Sunday brunch and the menu of breakfast items was incredible. Portions were large and the food quality was fresh and delicious. We visited the Mansfield location today around 7 pm. We signed in at the hostess station and requested the first available booth in the bar area. We informed them that we would wait at the bar high tops until they called us. After 30 minutes, a couple playing musical chairs jumped into a booth in the bar area when someone left. We were the first in line and had waited 30 minutes at that point. The hostess informed us that there was nothing they could do. The manager said they had called in. We questioned what "called in" meant, as they do not take reservations. The bartender suggested that we inform them next time. We were perplexed about why we lost out on seats to a booth in the bar area. We had followed the instructions given to us prior. We checked in with the hostess desk. Next time do we have to called in on our way to the restaurant or we could have simply informed the bartender. Nothing made sense to us from the employees to the manager, and no one offered any assistance. The overall atmosphere was unpleasant. On a separate note, my son found a piece of food handling glove in his food last weekend. This was extremely disgusting. Two bad experiences occurred at the Mansfield location these last two weekends. read more

Went here for lunch, I've been but the building before when it was a different Mexican establishment. I was anxious to try the food as the reviews seemed good and the pictures appeared to show large portions on the plates. For the food, it was good. I had the Chimichanga with fajita beef inside. Meat was flavored well, had a lot of cheese inside as well. Came with with rice and bean, guacamole, sour cream, and pico. I ordered the lunch place, tho this was big enough for a dinner plate. Chips and salsa are complementary, and they come in a BIG bowl!!! The salsa was good, and they brought a small helping of a warm black bean dip which was good as well. Where the location faltered, 1. The music was WAY loud, a few others mentioned it and they turned it down slightly, but to have a conversation you'd have to raise your voice enough to talk. 2. Seems on of the employees family members were the with a young child that cried the whole time. The employee came and stood at the table for long periods of time, all the while the child crying and echoing through the entire establishment. Not a very pleasing atmosphere for dining. 3. I had ordered a beer, came in the larger cup, after a few sips I saw strawberry seeds floating around the inside as well as along one side of the rim of glass. Was a bit grossed out about that and turned me off immediately in regard to finishing anything left in front of me. It's a good thing I'm not allergic to strawberries, but how they got there is my concern, as the seeds on the rim of the glass were in the same shape as if someone had taken a drink from that particular side of the glass. read more

Have gone here several times for dine in. Food is always solid, portions are huge. Everything I've had here is good, from enchiladas to fajitas to some of their specialties. I honestly wish the portion sizes were a little smaller, so they could charge a little less. But I realize that this is America, where people want to eat like they're not going to have access to food again for a week. Got to give the people what they want. Yesterday, I got takeout for the first time, for my parents and me. Two things: it's shocking how cold the food was after driving the 2 miles back to their house. I jumped in the car as soon as I placed the order online, so I know it couldn't have been waiting around very long for me too pick it up. Also, you'd think if you order $60 (including tip) worth of takeout, they would throw in some chips and salsa. But alas, there was nary a chip in sight. I like Los Molcajetes. The food is really good and the waiting staff can be attentive. It does get busy but it's a popular spot on Mansfield. It's a bit annoying when dealing with pick up items and orders. Most Mexican restaurants give chips and salsa as part of your meal for to-go items. Los Molacajetes charges you for it. Even charges for extra tortillas. Guess it's an interesting nickle and dime tactic ‍. Well starting the place looks nice. My wife and I have been there twice. The first time our server felt like it's important to chat with his coworkers more instead of serving his tables and second time our server didn't bring my wife food out, we had to ask a different server to do it. The food Is good I got the menudo one night and only thing I wish it had was bigger chunks of tripe. Also they have illegal 51 percent sign inside the sign is for establishments who sales are more alcohol and than food. If that be that case kids shouldn't be allowed in since they are considering themselves as a bar not a restaurant. If the sign is not removed tabc will be getting a call they could lose their liquor license. read more

We came here with my daughter's volleyball team after a tournament, there wasn't a long wait and they were very accommodating to our large group. The place is clean and the service was pretty awesome, we had a great experience. The waitress was very attentive, and the margarita I had was delicious and fulfilling, there are lots of varieties of margaritas. There were plenty of chips and salsa, we never had to ask for more, they always took it upon themselves to bring us refills of both chips and salsa. A couple tiles we received broken up chips (opposed to whole chips), but we lived to tell the story. For my meal I ordered a super burrito but I asked them to put mole sauce over the top with cheese, I'm from California, and I'm used to really good mole sauce, this place did not disappoint. My wife ordered enchiladas, she loved them as well. Overall this is a clean place, with a great meal options, and awesome drinks. I don't live in the area, but if I did I would frequent this place often. This place is an hour from my house, so I only had one drink, but I would have loved to try some of the other margaritas. read more

My wife and I were in the Mansfield area for a doctor's appointment and decided to have a late lunch. During COVID the restaurant is adhering to strict guidelines. All the staff had masks and guests were spaced out nicely in the restaurant. We both felt very safe. After being seated the hostess left us each a single-use menu. Many of the restaurants we've been visiting have gone to an abbreviated menu, not Los Molcajetes. They're still using their extensive menu full of delicious options. I believe they offer around 20 or so lunch specials until 3:30. Shortly afterward we were greeted with an overflowing basket of hot chips and yummy salsa. I wife decided on the chicken quesadilla platted and I decided on the cheese chili relleno, one of my favs. It came with an ample serving of refried beans and rice. Both of our lunch entrees were delicious. I loved my cheese chili relleno and didn't leave a speck on the platter. The service was very efficient. We'll definitely return again next time we're in the Mansfield area. read more
