Two barbicua and one beef ribs tacos
Kim L.

We're avid street taco lovers, and we wanted to try a new place. I found Jalisco's from Google. I read the reviews and thought to myself, let's give them a try! The server was pleasant and consistently rounded with us! Here's where we went wrong . I did a fast glance of the menu and saw "street tacos" . Sadly, Jaliscos doesn't have birria or tripas, but they do have barbicoa. I would say that the best tasting item on the menu were the chips and salsa. The chips were freshly made and the salsa had a good kick! I ordered two barbicoa and one beef rib tacos and my husband ordered chimichangas. Everything was bland! It tasted like the meats were blanched in water . We added the verde salsa to the tacos and that didn't help enhance flavor. The corn tortilla wasn't properly panned. It was very soft... Would we come here again? No.

Cute hole in the wall place. Service was super fast and pleasant on a Friday night. The food is authentic and tasty. Very clean cute place. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to like this place and was surprised at how bland and not good the food was. To start, you seat yourself. It took awhile before someone came over to greet us and take our drink order. There seemed to be one waitress working the room and cleaning the tables. They brought us menus along with our waters and my husband's ice cold bottle of beer which he enjoyed. You get chips and salsa which were good - Thick cut, my husband added salt to his. The thin red salsa was medium in heat level. I ordered a cup of queso that ended up being the best part of the meal. It is similar to velveeta with rotel in it. We liked that they had lunch specials. The menu also states they do brunch during the week until 12 but I didn't see anything on the menu for it. We arrived shortly before noon on a Monday so possibly it's a separate menu they didn't offer us. My husband got lunch chicken quesadillas. He enjoyed them. It was 4 pieces of thin quesadilla with chicken, cheese and a light amount of diced onion. It came with a spoonful of guacamole, sour cream, & lettuce with a couple pickled jalapeños on it. I got a plate that allowed me to try a few things- a cheese enchilada, crispy beef taco, and what was supposed to be 5 bean & cheese nachos with side of jalapenos, rice & beans. The beef in the taco was flavorless but I appreciated it wasn't greasy. The cheese enchilada was okay. The bean & cheese nachos were just 5 tortilla chips with their queso drizzled on them; no beans. I had 4 slices of jalapeno so didn't even have enough for all the nachos let alone enchilada. The rice and beans were bland. I could have asked for more jalapenos or given feedback on the meal had anyone come checked on us (again, one busy waitress working the room so I didn't bother to flag her down). After being done for a little bit and not being brought the check, we decided to go up to the counter and ask to pay. As we were walking to the counter she said she'd be right there- then proceeded to clean two tables. They definitely need to improve the food & service before I will be back. I love supporting small & local but I have to draw the line here. If they fixed up their patio and served margaritas, I'd potentially go back just for a drink & queso.

Delicious and affordable. Recommend everything in their menu. My favorite was the tacos suaredo.

Thank you for feeding my family tonight! We got a few other items but these were the mommy and daddy plates as the kids already started digging in. Ordering was easy, food was nice. Seemed alright and helped me not to cook tonight. I'd like to come in on a Saturday to try the menudo. I'm hoping it'll knock my socks off. The chips were the best part, in our opinion. Perfect thickness, and it was obvious that they were freshly fried. Yum.

Place is very clean. Chips and salsa is great! Ordered chicken enchiladas suizas and tacos were so yummy. To drink agua de Jamaica was bomb. Tacos are DELICIOUS. Highly recommend.

Good food, good prices and never overly crowded. We enjoy coming here often and I love their crunchy tacos or migas. My husband loves the different kinds of fajitas they have. Their loaded queso is good too, plus their salsa is served warm and very yummy.

I got a chimi and it was all 100% tasteless. Same for rice and beans. Hated having to pay money for it it was that bad.

Average Mexican food. Great service. Not much for ambiance, but I would go back. Queso is a must.

I'm from California and we know our way around some fine Mexican cuisine but Mama Cuca's was SO good. I spent two of my 4 nights in Midlothian at this restaurant. The grilled and stuffed poblano pepper is an absolute MUST HAVE. I'd never had it before but at the recommendation of our server, I gave it a try. I would have kicked myself if I had passed, it was outstandingly well prepared and flavorful :) But this review isn't actually about the food ... @Jessica and @Paty @Guillermo I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Andrew on my first night at Mama Cuca's and America in the bar on my second night. I've worked in Michelin restaurants in Napa Valley and these two professionals are genuinely absolute ACES in the craft of customer service. I don't write reviews to complain so when i take the time to write these it is because the service or quality was so outstanding that I NEED other people to know so they don't miss out on such an incredible experience. Both America & Andrew had us laughing and enjoying every minute chatting with them. The incredible food, combined with incredible staff ... needless to say I passed along my experiences to the folks I was in town to help with a tech deployment and will be coming back myself in a few months when I'm in town again. THANK YOU SINCERELY, America and Andrew, for providing one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I can recall. I would come back for the food but i will be back multiple nights for this incredible experience. You two ROCK!!!! And Paco, I met you late in the experience but i gotta give you props, from a former bartender at some swanky spots ... you're a REAL ONE my man.

I really want to give Las Palmas 4.5 stars as they well deserve it. Our server, Jorge, gave us 5.0…read moreservice for sure! He made sure our water was filled, food was pleasing, cocktails were made to perfection, and our needs were met. He was super friendly and interjected just enough of himself to make it a great night for us. I ordered the pollo con champiñónes. They were absolutely delicious! It was served up similar to how fajitas traditionally are served, on a hot plate, along with onions, peppers, pico, and cheese. The roasted jalapeño was an added touch. Nice! It came with beans and rice, but I opted for double beans. The beans were flavored good enough, with cheese on top. The table was served with chips and salsa. While the chips were just alright, the salsa was flavorful but not too spicy. Jorge made up our piña coladas and they were SO SO good! They serve the TRADITIONAL ones with crème de coco, rum, and pineapple juice, like what we get in Mexico! No premix in a machine, but the real deal. Super! The ambiance was adorable, not fancy, but very traditional Mexican decor. You can go dressed nicely or casual and feel comfortable here. Try them and enjoy!
