I recently have been going to this restaurant. My first time attending was maybe a month ago. I love the atmosphere! T.V's in every area. Clean and organized. Great food! I got the chicken quesadillas. So yummy!! The chips and salsa are great too!! The guacamole and queso are amazing as well. To have ALL three taste so good at a restaurant is hard to find. First time at this location on 4/14/24. I do not understand the hype. We purchased the stuffed pepper app, El Paisano Combo, and Ti Tijuana platter. The stuffed peppers were ok. it seemed like a cornmeal type batter with a little sweetness, stuffed with a jal and yellow cheese. If it wasn't for the bed of lettuce, shredded cheese, n Pico underneath, it really has no flavor. I ended up during the bed of veggies to a salad, and that was the 2nd best thing I ate. I purchased the El Paisano because I love Chili Relleno, but I've never had one where the batter was slimy. I could not eat the batter. I purchased it with ground meat, but the meat had zero flavor, and the sauce had a very strange taste. Now I did love the cheese Enchilada that came with it, I give that 5 stars. The rice and beans also had little to no flavor. If you want Mexican/ Tex Mex, go to El Tejas Mexican Restaurant it is 200% better, with flavor and fresh ingredients and priced reasonably, IMO. read more

This would have been our second time but we did not get to eat there. We opted to wait for a booth. So after waiting 20 minutes, they let us know our table was ready. We went in and was told someone sat themselves at our booth and it would be another 15 to 30 minutes. We asked if they allow that, why did we have to wait as there was a booth available when we came in. Very disappointing. Spoke to the manager and she was very nice and professional. However and obviously, we still would have another 20 minute wait. We may consider going back because the manager was nice but the way this was handled was awful. read more

I put off visiting this place because I hadn't heard the best things about it during the first year they were open. I decided to go ahead and try it since some people love it. Guacamole and queso are very cheap versions made in large batches. Not a small batch, table-side style that would warrant the prices they charge. When I pay almost $10 for a "half order" of guacamole, it better have some jalapeños and bacon in it. Margaritas were good. Not fantastic, but definitely their strength. Plenty of entrees to choose from that we're all standards. We chose the chicken and beef fajitas. They were priced well, like it's 1999 again. Awesome Portion size, even to split. Flavor was on point and they didn't chintz on the fresh tortillas - unlike some places that bring you three and get you to beg for more. Recently moved to Mansfield and wanted to try something new. Man this place did NOT disappoint. The waiter was great at giving suggestions. I started with a blueberry margarita, be careful those things are delicious but pack a punch. It was the first time I've had a blueberry margarita but now I don't want anything else. Our food was outstanding! Seriously, the quesadillas was full of chicken and cheese with a nice crunch on the tortilla The beef fajita nachos were SO freakin good. Lastly, the brisket tacos were fresh and tasty- will get again. All the entrees came with guacamole, it was a nice portion, fresh with nice chunks of avocado. This use to be the location of Jonny Carinos Italian restaurant, the inside still has the same look but with a Latin twist. They have patio seating (not much but enough to allow social distancing) They have plastic dividers between booths and walls, and the employees wear masks. We had the margaritas, mine had sangria swirl and it was delicious. We shared the molcajete shrimp and beef for 2 and it not only was very flavorful but was more food then what we could eat. Plenty of shrimp and big in size not stingy at all and plenty of juicy beef that had flavors that were amazing. Oh let me not forget the most important thing, HAND MADE TORTILLAS, flour and corn. Do yourself a favor and stay away from here. Not only did our entire order come incorrect, but it took three returns to the kitchen and was never entirely fixed. When the manager came to our table and we told her about all of the mistakes she said that the waitress was new and did not understand a lot of Spanish. I wish I could give a better review, but for our table of 9 people, only one person liked their food. The rice was very salty, some of the items came with more toppings than listed, the meat was average at best, they either didn't have corn tortillas or pawned off flour tortillas hoping we wouldn't notice, and the service was ok. At first our server was very attentive, but then we couldn't get his attention for anything. Drinks were empty and empty dishes just piled up on the table giving us very little room to eat, etc. The best part of the meal was the chips and salsa which were very good. This place may be best for drinks and chips/salsa, but we definitely won't dine here again. read more

We ventured out Sunday night and I believe everyone in Mansfield did also. After trying four different places, we tired Los Mocajetes. Although they were busy, we got right in... our waitress came within minutes to take our drink order. and helped with our selection of choices for our meal. Enjoyed a great dinner. The chips were super light and crispy. Couldn't stop eating them. The portion sizes are huge and the price so reasonable! Definitely had a whole mea to go for tomorrow. Flavor is good, portion large, can't complain. My daughters lemonade was watery but the waitress brought another one and an apple juice just in case. Left full and happy. one of the identifying characteristics of a good Mexican food restaurant is their salsa and chips. This place serves the thin chips but they are crispy and tasty. Their salsa is impeccable. They have 2 levels. Salsa for normal people and hot for those that like it hot. The selection is very good given that most restaurants have scaled down their menu. Prices seem a bit on the higher side but the portions make up for it, and I figure its the adjustment to the loss in revenue due to the pandemic. Loved this place. When no one else around was able, this restaurant happily seated our party of 20 on a Saturday night in less than an hour. And they were packed - I couldn't believe it. I waited at the bar where the bartender was talking to regulars, gave great service and served up a great jalapeño Rita. Once at our table, one server waited on our entire party. She was efficient, organized, very nice and thorough and totally on point. The food and drinks were outstanding !!!! And the prices were very good. I was so excited to go and eat here since my first time at The Roanoke branch years back was good. They sat us quickly at 11:15 am, chips were fresh and crispy and we devoured it quickly . I looked forward to my chicken mole and fajitas which were the reasons why we went there in the first place but to my dismay when they tasted like sea water ! Everything was so salty . The mole sauce , the fajita meat, the frijoles and even the rice . My son's chilaquiles was sooooo tangy! The server was very apologetic but I was not sure if he communicated to the chef my concern. If they're not pre-made, I'd recommend that you specify that you want your food less salty. read more

Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Mansfield or Western Center? Doesn't matter! This little chain is absolutely my favorite (and I'm so happy to have one reasonably nearby). We were excited to try breakfast last Sunday, and although we were running later than desired (about 11:30am) they did not bat an eye when asking if we wanted lunch or breakfast & we chose the latter. I ordered the Machaca & my date ordered the burrito. Huge portions! The shredded beef was so flavorful!! They have a nice queso as well. Now a word of explanation...as every Tex-Mex place seems to have a quirk of one kind or another when it comes to chips & hot sauce...they will bring you two cups of sauce. If you like a kick, mix them together. It is one of the best hot hot sauce around. We have been seated in the bar and in the dining room. It does not seem to matter, because the service is top notch. I am also a huge fan of their Chile Rellenos. Again, theirs is one of the freshest I have had. The Western Center location was always SO crowded that it is a bit shocking to be able to walk in & get a seat, but I expect the Mansfield crowd will figure out what they have here & change it soon! read more
