I have a group of 20 that meets once a month to get together and share a meal for dinner. It's such an incredible group of individuals. It's always great to relax and get caught up with all that has been going on. We had reserved one of El Ranchito's private rooms. They have 3 or them. Our room was at the back of the restaurant. As our group's members arrived, they were greeted warmly by an attentive staff. Benjamin, our server, introduced himself to our group and asked if anyone had any questions about the menu. Hearing none, he proceeded to take our drink orders. I told all El Ranchito's margaritas are AWESOME. Many followed my recommendation and ordered them. My wife and I had a fairly big lunch, so she wasn't too hungry. She decided to order bean and cheese nachos. I decided to get their cheese chili rellano a try. One of the other servers arrived with a big try of warm chips and excellent spicy salsa. My wife and I love their salsa, he has just the right amount of "bite" in it. We love it since it's not "wimpy." Shortly all of our entrees started arriving brought in by a barrage of servers. All was timed to perfection since all the entrées were piping hot, just like they should be. My wife loved her bean and cheese nachos. El Ranchito's refried beans are so delicious. They have such a delicious flavor. My cheese Chile Relleno was fabulous. It had so much gooey cheese deliciousness in it. My platter was complete with the addition of refried beans and excellent Spanish rice. The poblano pepper inside the relleno was just spicy enough to keep everything interesting. I topped off our visit by ordering El Ranchito's incredible flan. It was so creamy and had an incredible flavor. Throughout our group's stay at the restaurant, Benjamin was attentive to our group's needs, and we never lacked anything. Had an early dinner here, with my mom, and the food and service held mixed reviews. For it to not have been packed, our waiter was very slow and we had to reach out a few times for items but outside of that she was fine. For starters, the salsa and chips were spicy but delicious; however, the guacamole was a let down (had to add salt, pepper, lime) in order for it to be good. We did order happy hour margaritas - on the rocks and frozen - and there was very minimum alcohol in it. I ordered the combo fajitas (corn tortillas) which came with chicken + steak and bell peppers/onions along with the usual toppings. I did enjoy the fajitas- especially the char on the beef! You get a big portion for their regular size - enough for leftovers if you're a small eater. My mom ordered the enchiladas suisas and she thoroughly enjoyed her food - enough for leftovers as well. They offer a varying amount of Mexican items but the salsa was definitely the highlight! read more

Omg! I wish this place was closer to my house. Loved the ambiance, service, food & drinks! The salsa had a nice kick but flavorful. It had chunks of onion and cilantro. They make the salsa fresh every morning and throw out whatever is left over at the end of the night. For dinner we ordered the Parrillada for two and substitute the chicken for more fajita. The fajita meat and shrimp had good flavor. To drink we had horchata. It had more of a cinnamon flavor, which was very good in my opinion, which I'm not a Horchata drinker. I ordered a Paloma and it tasted like just one that I would make it home. Yes they have squirt. For dessert we got flan. They put a raspberry syrup at the bottom which was very good and also a small thing of whip cream. They also have mariachi band walking around. Went here for Mother's Day and everything was great. I got the shrimp enchiladas and they were fantastic as well as the margarita de coco. My sisters ordered the pina colada but once they tried my drink they also got one of those because it was so good(and had fresh coconut). It was a really smooth creamy drink and wasn't too strong. They also had fresh agua frescas which my family enjoyed as well (the Jamaica specifically was delicious). Wait staff was great and continuously checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and between the mariachi and the staff who came by to sell us a photo of everyone together it was a great atmosphere. Took my wife for lunch and was a little disappointed. The beef enchiladas I ordered were ok taste like a can of wolf Chile added, must be famous around here cause it should be home made chili con carne sauce. My wife's catfish was very good. The salsa has a nice kick to it!! Our server whom I didn't get her name was extremely efficient! She was very attentive & made a recommendation for the Parillada plate!! It came with grilled steak, chicken, sausage & short rib & for $3 more, I added shrimp!! The charro beans are the bomb!! The atmosphere is family oriented, cozy & cutely decorated!! Went here on a recommendation needless to say we won't be taking food advice from them anymore. This was our first time so we have a rule to only try the chips, salsa, queso and margaritas before we will say a Mexican food restaurant is good. Only two of those things were good, the salsa and the chips. The cheese is like Campbell's Cheese Soup and then the Margarita was more like drinking straight sweet and sour. We ordered one Fajita steak taco and one Fajita chicken taco. The tortillas are good but the chicken was dry!!! The steak was good. There just wasn't enough good for us to come back, there are way better places to get Tex-Mex. My #1 go to spot for authentic Mexican food. The staff is wonderful. We always sit at the bartop where's there's a couple TVs. Their elotes are a full grilled corn on the cob with their house sauce and parmesan, THE BEST. The fajitas a very thinly sliced which is how we prefer fajitas vs the really thick cut meat other places have. Everything is good here and very low key, casual. read more

We have driven by many times, but this time we stopped for dinner. We are pleasantly surprised with quality and friendliness of the staff. The flavors were tilted more to the Mexican cuisine than TexMex. We had traditional food, Chile Relleno and Flautas. The salsa is warmer than most TexMex making it delicious. While there a wedding party had a Mariachi band playing in their room. A lady walked around taking and selling photos of the people at the tables. The restaurant was all right. The bartender was not that great. She seemed really pissed off to be at work and treated her coworker very badly. As we sat there and ate, we were asked if we wanted a song if we wanted pictures if we wanted to buy balloons I felt like I was at the strip in Cancun Mexico. The Menudo was god awful. We decided to try El Ranchito our after a day of Black Friday shopping at The Parks at Arlington. It's only like a 3 minute drive away. It seems to be rather new, but they seemed to know what they were doing. The restaurant looked pretty spacious, kind of like a house with different "rooms" within the restaurant. We were seated in a room with about 5 other tables. The decor was nice and we were helped right away by a waiter. The menu items are mostly in Spanish, so it took awhile for me to read through all the English descriptions. After all of that, I ended up ordering the chicken enchiladas plate, but some of the other offerings looked really good! The food was good, but we all ordered kind of regular Tex Mex food. If I come again, I should be more adventurous and order one of the platters served on a hot plate. The service was excellent. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had water, drinks and take out containers. Although my order was messed up a little, he was very apologetic and fixed it right away. Overall, I thought the food was a bit pricy for what we got, even though the service was great. $11 for a shrimp appetizer that has only 4 shrimp is a little steep right? $11 for 2 little enchiladas with rice and beans is also a little steep.... oh well, next time, I'll order something better. If you come here regularly you should take a step back and try some other Mexican food. Queso was very bland, salsa tasted like it was fresh out of a jar, tortillas were hard, fajita meat tasted old. We got there on Friday around 6ish and immediately got seated in front of the bar, the employees were super friendly and kind, there is a mariachi group that played in front of us which was pretty awesome. Love the food. This is our "go to" Mexican restaurant now. Fajitas and Parrillada Mexicana are great, Churro dessert is very good. Everyone we take loves it. Salsa is a little too spicy for me but good so I power through. (In its defense, I don't care for too much heat). If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Visited on a weekday about an hour before close (if that should make any difference to service). Environment- pretty, cultural, has a bar, have signs up to pay for a mariachi song. The mariachi was not there at this time, wondering if this is on the weekends.. Service- the waitress was nice but not as attentive as they were cleaning and she disappeared for a long time talking to other coworkers. I asked for the yelp offer and they said they did not do that. Food- I ordered and was not a fan of the brisket tacos, the beans/rice were unimpressive. I tried a bit from my family's entrees as well , they were ok, out of the plates the chicken AND the steak fajitas were definitely their better platter. I was also impressed by the Jamaica aqua Fresca! It was refreshing. The horchata was good too.
