This is our local Mexican food spot. Close to the house and everything we've tried has been great. We get fajitas mostly, but the salsa and guacamole are always great! Service is friendly, fast and reliable. We only chose takeout though. But 5 star for the most important part, the food. We've tried staying a few times. We just don't feel a good ambiance here. It seems too well lit if that makes sense. Like too bright. My one and only complaint. Otherwise, great restaurant. read more

I attended a birthday dinner this week at LaBendicion. Very excited to hit a neighborhood spot and take a pause from every highway that's under construction. We were greeted by at least 3 employees, eager to say hello and seat us. It's a family owned restaurant and each employee gave us exemplary attention. The sweetest staff! They were quick to sit our party of 5, take the cake to be refrigerated, chips/salsa, and drinks. We discovered a 55 and up menu for 9.99. What? How did we become seniors?' The cheese enchilada was delicious!! We were surprised at their drink selection. Very yummy! Loved the black raspberry marg!! Delicious and one may be enough. - wink! Every Friday a group of 3 to 4 couples meet at La Bendicion for dinner. The service for most of us is excellent, but a waitress who fills in for our group when our regular waitress is not available seems to have a real problem with one of the couples. They have never been critical or rude to this waitress, but possibility a little impatient with her. They have also generously tipped her, but for some unknown reason she totally ignores any and every request that they make of her, such as requesting silverware or an extra plate. She will eventually bring that item after requesting it several more time, after the food is cold and not fit to eat, and everyone else has finished their dinner. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant until this problem is fixed. read more

We have driven by this place for a long time, it's located by a grocery store and really didn't notice it. One day was at store and smelled something really good. That afternoon we went to the smell. I was in the area looking for a place to eat. A quick search on Yelp led me to this restaurant, and I decided to give it a try. The menu had several tempting options, but I settled on the Baja Enchiladas and added a brisket taco based on a recommendation from one of the employees. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food arrived in a reasonable time. I was impressed by the portion size, and even more impressed with the flavor. The cilantro sauce I substituted on my enchiladas was a great choice and really enhanced the dish. Craving something sweet, I ordered the churros, which turned out to be some of the best I've ever had--soft in the center, perfectly fried on the outside, with ice cream that added a nice touch. We also ordered sopapillas for the table, and they were delicious as well. I really wish this restaurant was closer, I would definitely frequent it often. read more

Was craving enchiladas in the area and came here only to be disappointed :(. Since it was so slow, all the staff was kinda just standing around. Originally I ordered one spinach and one chicken enchilada. The first one was literally just sautéed spinach in a tortilla and very underwhelming to say the least. Chicken was very dry as well but the queso sauce made it more palatable. Rice was mid, and not much flavor. Both the charro and black beans were hard as well. I often crave Tex-Mex, despite loving authentic Mexican food, but this was truly disappointing and I will not be returning. Stopped here because we were hungry for TexMex. It was a clean simple interior and service was quick. The menu had a great selection for lunch specials and that's what I chose. I did the lunch special Carne Asada and it was great. My meat was super tender and flavorful and it was a good size for a lunch special. The rice was the only bummer, it was pretty much lacking any taste. I also got a margarita that was just okay to me it was overly sweet and I don't like sweet drinks at all. First time in and won't be out last. We wanted to go to our usual place but hvac has been out for weeks and they don't seem to care so had to look for a close-by new place and had read about this restaurant on the Arlington eats Facebook page and it didn't disappoint! We started with a small guacamole dip and chips and salsa. All was really good. Salsa is a little runny for me, I'm a chunky salsa girl but flavor wise it was good and the chips tasted fresh. We decided to try the chicken fajitas for two. First let me tell you we looked at prices at Mariano's before coming and chicken fajitas for two was $50!!! The Margarita I I usually get is now $17. So let me just say the fajitas for two were $36 and it was huge. We even had enough for leftovers for tomorrow lunch. They have not received their liquor license yet so margaritas are free, limit 2 per person, but considering the difference in price and the quantity & quality of the entrees we will def come back here before going back to Mariano's. Place is clean, service was amazing and the food is typical Tex-Mex. Definitely recommend and we will be back. Even if we need to pay for our drinks. read more

La Bendicion is still pretty new but they've already cozied right in to the neighborhood and built up a little local following. The space is one big, open square filled with tall booths that divvy up the room and offer decent privacy. I remember the lighting being pretty bright and seeming almost fluorescent, but all in all a comfortable space. There's a small bar and a couple big TVs playing sports on the back wall. The menu is pretty classic Tex-Mex, something you won't find me complaining about. On a week day lunchtime we were seated and brought a highchair for our toddler right away. Then the chips and salsa, and yes these pass the test. The chips are thin and crunchy and sturdy enough to hold up lots of salsa, which is red, cold, and a could-keep-eating-forever-medium-level-hot. Our entree orders were basic, okay, but delicious. Jon had steak soft tacos with a side of rice and beans. I ordered plain ol' meatless nachos (only $4.50!!) but they came with plenty of toppings: a dollop of sour cream, a scoop of guacamole, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeno slices, and shredded lettuce. The produce was all yummy and fresh across both plates. Jon's soft tacos were enormous and the Spanish rice and refried beans both had great texture. Truly everything was pretty darn good.. Ok lots to talk about on this one. Let's start with the good. The restaurant inside was clean. The prices were not absurd. The salsa that came with the chips was spectacular. And the food came out in less than 5 minutes from the time of ordering. Unfortunately here is the bad. The main course (enchiladas) was completely devoid of any flavor. Like I don't know how it is possible but I felt the food in my mouth, but didn't taste a thing. The chicken filling was suuuuper dry as well. The front of the restaurant was also really easy to miss. I passed right by it once because the windows tint are so dark that the open sigh was really hard to see that it was even on. Now while I wasn't completely disappointed, I can't I would ever return; despite living less than 5 minutes from this restaurant. Sunday Lunch was not too crowded, and the staff there was wonderful. Was immediately greeted and served the normal chips and salsa. The salsa was good. It is a casual place, with plenty of seating and a few tables outside. We ordered the enchilada taco plate and chimichangas. Both plates were great; watch out, those dishes were hot. The Chimichanga was good, and I do recommend it. It comes with Rice and Beans (your choice of black or refried), and you can choose one of three sauces for your dish. I chose the tomatillo sauce (green). I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

We really like La Bendicion. It's very similar to Don Mario's that used to be in that spot. Even has several former employees. But a new owner, new name and what seems to be a strong commitment to making the restaurant very successful. The food is excellent, they use high quality meats for their fajitas and carne asada. It's very tender and flavorful. The charro beans are top notch. They also allow ala carte ordering if you don't want a full meal. A large Tortilla soup is a meal in itself too. Wanted to try a new place for dinner and found this place when I searched on YELP. It is nice a spacious and clean when you walk in. The booths are tall enough to block noise. They do have a bar area, but we elected to sit on the main floor. Our server was fantastic and prompt with refilling our drinks, even when the restaurant became busy. The food came out very quick. We ordered queso to go with the chips and salsa. That was a little bland, but was ok when we mixed in some of the salsa. Our entrées were out of this world delicious. I had the carne Asada and my friend had chicken enchiladas. The carne asada was so flavorful and grilled perfectly. The chicken in the enchiladas was very moist and flavorful. So unfortunately this restaurant just didn't do it for me. However, I did give them two stars due to the customer service and the chips/salsa. On to the food, so I ordered the shrimp stacked enchiladas and when I tell you the food had zero flavor. This could possibly be the most bland Mexican food I've ever had. Honestly, Taco Cabana has more flavor in their food. My shrimp tasted like it came straight from the water and also the food wasn't warm. Furthermore, the rice had a stale taste but I will say the black beans were pretty good. The staff is truly nice and they have good chips and salsa, trust me I really wanted to like this restaurant but they came up short regarding the flavor. On a brighter note, our waitress Katherin was super sweet and was very understanding when I expressed my concers about my entrée. Now about the service I think our waitress was new but she needs some serious training. Bought our drinks took our order then we had to ask another waiter for more chips another person brought our food promptly. Never came around to ask if we need anything. We heard about this restaurant from some friends. Walked in around 1pm on a Saturday. We were greeted promptly and sat in a booth, which I usually don't prefer because of sitting too low. These were comfortable for me at 5'5" as well as for my husband at 6'3". The server brought out chips and salsa-- we each got our own cup of salsa. Took our drink orders right away. I ordered a jalapeño margarita. She immediately brought me water and a diet coke for my husband. The menu had a lot of options. We started off with the Queso Trio, which had ground taco beef, guacamole, and sour cream to be mixed in with Queso Blanco. Very tasty! I asked for a side of soft corn tortillas and they were fresh and soft, but firm enough to hold up to the queso. One of my favorite things to check out at a new Mexican restaurant is the chile relleno, if it's on the menu. I ordered the ground beef chile relleno and it was worth it! Expertly seasoned ground beef, a slight crunch through the pablano pepper, and a very light egg batter on the outside. And the spicy green sauce lives up to its name and was full of flavor! My husband had the beef fajita chimichanga and said it was really good. Meat was well seasoned and tender. He could only eat half of it! The borracho beans were the perfect soft, silky, yet firm texture with an amazing likker. And the black beans were also expertly seasoned and prepared. The Mexican rice was fine, just normal fluffy, seasoned rice. And back to the Jalepeno Margarita. First, it was fresh. Muddled fresh jalepeno, squeezed lime, premium tequila, and maybe a place of sweet and sour. The owner made it and came by to check on how I liked it. Amazing! Served in a goblet and only $13. What? We had leftovers a diet were so full that we did t try dessert. Maybe next time I will opt for margarita and dessert! Definitely worth giving it a try. We will certainly go back and this may replace pur other favorite Arlington Mexican food place, which has a much higher menu and drink price for the same quality of food and margaritas! read more

Previous visits were okay. This time will be the very last time I ever give another penny to this "business". I live less than a quarter mile from this place. I placed an order for pickup (2 different enchilada type meals - comes with rice and beans) - I get there, I get my food and bring it home. My family and I get the chips and salsa out, the food is set out on plates, beans dumped into bowls, and we settle down at the table to eat. Everything, literally everything was cold except for the beans. The cheese enchiladas was like biting into a cheese stick wrapped in stale tortillas. The beef enchiladas were just cold, soggy, fat. And the chicken enchiladas were cold, dry, and chewy. We ended up microwaving our food because we were all super hungry and needed to eat. After dinner when I found time to get back on my phone, I requested a refund of our meal telling their zing whatever customer service of the issue. I was informed they had reached out to the restaurant and would let me know if the place approved the refund. A couple days later, I got a response. The response was that they will not refund our meals because I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT THE FOOD BACK?? First of all, it is not my responsibility to ensure the quality of the food that comes out of that kitchen. It is the staff of the establishment. That is also not a reason for me to have to repack up all the food and drive back to this place while my family sits there hungry even longer because this place was incapable of making sure THEIR product was of sound quality before allowing it to leave through those doors. I microwaved the food to make sure my family ate when we wanted to. What I do know, is that this was a transaction on my end. One that takes place in every restaurant. Customer pays for menu items with clear cut expectations (quality food) and by accepting that money, the business makes sure that those expectations are met for the paying customer. This place does not value their customers or the expectations that they should strive for when making said transactions. That response was rude, it was unprofessional, and really unrealistic thinking. Not my job to fix your job..the microwave did that for me. Anyway. Don't order take out unless you want to be robbed of a good experience and your money. Absolutely disgusting management. I went to their Facebook account and they don't have an option to leave reviews (go figure) so I commented this review on their posts. Which they promptly deleted and instead of reaching out to address this issue, they blocked me. This whole business is a joke. ---- in response to the business--- As stated, we live basically across the street. In the neighborhood behind Wimbish Elementary. I made the order, we were 2min away on the way home. I sent my husband in 5min before it said our order would be ready. The ordering app zing said it was accepted and being prepared. We were there before it changed to ready. The food should not have been cold. MY mistake was not understanding the refund process and I did not want a refund for the sopapillas. Or tax really, just the enchilada dishes we ordered because they were ROOM temp. And I did spam the Facebook comments to get the attention for this, simply because the refund request stated only that we were dissatisfied with the food. Not why. Also, if orders are being made online - if those are the "rules" - those should be made public for patrons. As I stated - we had to microwave the food, we couldn't just pack up after putting food infront of myself, my husband, and our child - that's absurd. In restaurant would be different. Definitely would have said something. But to expect us to pickup our food, drive home, unpack, place food on plates for us 3, then pack it up, drive back, wait for hot food food - really?
