Great TX Mex! Went on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Loved it. Had the chicken taquitos - delish - good size portion. Great refried beans. On Sunday I had the regular ground beef nachos - individual nachos which I love. They also offer "stacked" nachos it you like that kind. Others in my group had the cheese enchilada and loved them. Nicely melted cheese inside not a microwaved brick like some other places. Offer lots of enchilada toppings/sauce. Loved having a choice of beans - I love refried beans but others in our group got the charro and black beans and said they were good, too. So happy to find a good TX Mex restaurant! First impression walking in was how bright, white, and clean the place was. Clean is good, but the decor/ambiance is a little lacking. Maybe turn down the recessed lighting? The service was fantastic, and the free margaritas while they're waiting on their liquor license were a huge plus! Queso and salsa were tasty. The trio fajitas had plenty of grilled onions, which I loved. Steak and shrimp were the best. The bean and cheese nachos were good, but overpriced. In town for an event and decided to give this place a chance. The chips and salsa was delicious! The brisket tacos were a little bland, but the hot sauce did add some much needed flavor. Great price point and atmosphere. If I'm in the area I would definitely return. read more

My husband and I just finished a wonderful dinner at La Bendicion TexMex this evening. The fresh chips and salsa came out as soon as we were seated and then we had to try their Queso (yummy!). He had the tamale dinner and I had a couple of soft tacos -- both served with a side of tasty Spanish rice and we both selected their hearty charro beans instead of refried. Folks, everything was hot and very tasty. This location took over where the former Don Mario's used to be in Fielder Plaza. But what we found most interesting about this place is it was opened and now owned by one of the former waiters of Dan Mario's -- Taylor and his wife. Isn't that awesome?! We remember what a great waiter Taylor was back in the day so if he takes that same great customer service attitude and attention to detail in his role as owner, this place will be a great success. Tonight, my husband and I brought my father-in-law to this lovely restaurant for the first time (to dine in). Based simply on reviews, we ordered take-out last week and were not disappointed. My husband thought we'd enjoy dining-in and after that first order, I knew there were other menu choices that I wanted to try, like Chile Relleno. (Everyone has something that they use as their personal barometer for testing, to see if they want to explore more menu options, etc. ) For me, it was chicken enchiladas. It was so good that I knew I wanted to try more. (I'm always on a quest to find the best Chile Relleno). It's clear that everything is made fresh to order. The salsa was delicious with just the right amount of heat to complement the crispy chips promptly brought to our table as we were perusing the menu. The Relleno was grilled, not fried , filled with delicious chicken and topped with a red sauce that reminded me of my mother's wonderful Tex-mex. The charro beans were delicious enough to be a meal of its own. My husband got a plate featuring chicken enchiladas, a taco al carbon, as well as a crispy taco. My father-in-law chose the chef's special featuring salmon topped with a creamy mushroom sauce, so tasty that he brought the remainder home to eat throughout the weekend. . We all ordered margaritas and they were delicious! I saw that they make the Sangria in-house (as all truly wonderful Sangria should be) so I ordered the Sangria Swirl margarita which was so perfectly balanced that I drank almost all of it! We were so satisfied that we took our sopapillas to go to enjoy later. This restaurant is tucked away in a strip center near Tom Thumb, so don't expect Abuelos' decor. But, it was clean, well lit and despite 2 large screen TVs, we were able to talk and enjoy conversation without the effort required at many other restaurants. On this busy Friday night, we were seated immediately upon arrival and had no problems navigating a wheelchair to a comfortable table. Our waitress, Katherine (sp?) was attentive and knowledgeable, and we were very happy to have chosen to spend our date-night at this long-needed and deserving addition to our choices of wonderful Tex-Mex dining in north Arlington. I can't wait to further sample the menu here and hope it becomes a place where 'everyone knows your name'. We are relatively new to the area and have been looking for a place like this since we arrived. I hope they are prosperous and stay a very long time. It's not often we see a new mom and pop Tex Mex joint open up, especially in Arlington. We have plenty of single shop Mexican joints but our Tex Mex offerings are mostly regional chains, some of which we really enjoy. But I'd love a Manny's Uptown TexMex, or a La Familia. So La Benedicion opens in the space of a former Mexican place that was simply inept. The new owner has done a nice job renovating and cleaning the space; it's clean and spacious and welcoming. We came for lunch and frankly , weren't that hungry. We were greeted and taken to a booth. It was good to see good traffic mid afternoon of a holiday weekend. We were brought some nice crispy thin chips and bowls of a nicely made salsa. The sweet tea was nicely brewed and not too sweet. (I remember as a kid Tex Mex joints would bring a bowl of jalapeños carrots and onions en eschabehe, and hot tortillas and butter as well as chips and hot sauce) The menu has all the usual Tex Mex dishes, enchiladas, tacos, rellenos, fajitas, etc. I judge a Tex Mex joint by one thing: cheese and onion enchiladas with chili gravy. So I got an enchilada plate, one with chili con carne, the other with queso (I wanted to try their queso without an order as we were t that hungry). Refried beans and rice. Got a crispy beef taco on the side. Wife got three crispy beef tacos. Let's start with the enchiladas. The tortillas was properly softened, and the cheese ok. I prefer a melty real American but this was fine. The chili con carne was full of finely ground beef; it was seasoned properly but could use a bit more. It also needed a bit of roux to thicken it up. It was missing something that I didn't figure out til nearly finished. No onions. They needed onions cooked inside with the cheese and a few raw ones on top. Nevertheless, with a tweak or two these could be really great enchiladas. The tacos had nice crispy shell, nicely spiced beef, and lettuce cheese and tomato. Pretty good taco if you add some salsa. We'll let them work out the kinks and return. He should do a nice bar biz once he gets his license. read more

New restaurant in Fielder Plaza. Very good! I had the shredded Chicken Chile Relleno and it was excellent. I don't do cheese and it's one of the few Mexican Restaurants that don't already have it prepared so I could order it with no cheese inside. Service was very good. Friendly and quick.Nice Atmosphere and clean. No liquor license yet so they are giving a free Margarita until they get one. I live close so will be a favorite I predict! read more

Our first time to try this restaurant. Strip center Tex-Mex seems to come and go around here. I hope this one stays for a while. We ordered to go and everything was delicious and fresh. The chips and salsa were a 9.5 out of 10 (I deducted a half point because I wanted more salsa for the large amount of chips we got. Prices were in line with the market. We will be making more trips. We tried this new restaurant, arriving around 11:30 AM on Sunday. They had only opened the doors four days before. My wife and I had the chicken fajitas for two. Generous portions of chicken with refried beans and the usual fixins that go along with fajitas. We also got a side of queso. The chips and salsa were complimentary. Everything was very tasty and service was quick. Many patrons came in after us. The place is well decorated and sparkling new. The music was classic Mexican and was just the right volume. The manager/owner waited on us and was upbeat and personable. We will certainly come back. Highly recommend. read more

Celebrating the opening of a new restaurant in the 'hood! We're always glad to support the local places when we can. The owner is serving complimentary margaritas with adult meals purchased (until the liquor license arrives). We had crispy beef tacos and the tilapia in creamy shrimp sauce. The tilapia dish was one of the best I've ever had and included three plump shrimp, perfectly grilled vegetables, and Mexican rice. We enjoyed the salsa too, which had a great flavor and was not too spicy. Service was very good. Everyone seemed happy to be there, which is not the case everywhere these days. Ambiance was pleasant with music that was not too loud to talk over, clean, and simple. We're looking forward to trying more menu items once the wine bar is stocked. read more

Made it for lunch today to our new Tex Mex offering in N Arlington. I had two staples as my first trial run- one crispy beef taco and one sour cream chicken enchilada. Taco meat was well seasoned and the shredded chicken in the sour cream chicken enchilada is a standout. I chose the charro beans over refried and glad I did. Beans were cooked just right in a sauce that is not overly brothy with good spicing. Let's talk salsa - really good salsa with just enough heat for those of us that love spicy and not so hot as to scare off those less adventurous on the spice side. My husband and I went to dinner 4/26 and it was Amazing. We entered the restaurant and were greeted right away. The restaurant was full so we chose to sit at the bar. Moments after we chose our seat, our bartender was there to take our drink order and a man delivered warm chips and super tasty hot sauce. I ordered the 2 enchiladas: Chicken with Sour Cream and Cheese with Chili Con Carne~ refried beans and rice. My husband had the Chicken stacked enchiladas with the delicious cilantro cream sauce Refried beans and rice. Both of our meals were Perfect. The absolute best Mexican food in Arlington in Our opinion. Though the bartender was busy, Blane was attentive and delight. My margarita was made perfectly and our waters were kept full.
