We just moved to the area and are trying all the new to us places around us. This restaurant was a treat. My husband was obsessed with the black bean dip! We both had a great meal and a great drink and our server was wonderful. We will be returning! read more

This place is pretty good. Anna was extremely nice and gave amazing service. Thank you Anna! The pupusas were fresh and delicious. My only complaint was it took awhile to come out even though there was barely anyone in the stores though, but I understand. The decor is alright but it doesn't bother me. Nice place. read more

Delicious food! We stop here when in TX as family lives nearby. Today we had the delicious fajitas and fajitachita. Delicious skinny margaritas and great service! read more

For over 20 years I'd driven by Cafe Acapulco but never stopped. That was until a few years ago when a friend asked me to meet her there for lunch. Let me tell you, I was missing out. I loved it. It wasn't busy either (which surprised me). And ever since that visit, I've been hooked. I've brought my family many times. We all love it. I find the service, the location, the food and the price all great. Complimentary chips/salsa. Happy hour specials. They can accommodate larger parties and they have nice patio area. I highly recommended this place! read more

I have to say one of the best burgers I have ever had. It's a burger crafted from the American spirit, it's a bite of childhood. If you go to café Acapulco, you have to try it. read more

We came here during the lunch time and Carissa our waitress made sure we were taken care of. There are plenty of places to park and the prices are on par with other Mexican/Salvadoran restaurants. I ordered the street tacos (chicken) which came with a side of refried beans and Spanish rice. I ordered the horchata drink and for dessert tres leches cake. We had complimentary chips and salsa for the table. I love adding beans, rice and green salsa to my tacos, needless to say I enjoyed them. The horchata tasted powdery, I've had better. The tres leches was delicious and moist a nice way to finish the meal. The atmosphere was inviting and the noise level minimal. If I am ever in the area I would return. read more

Cafe Acapulco is awesome!! Great service and great food and margaritas!!! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant to go to.

Do you remember when Marty McFly used the time machine to go back to the 80s for some great Mexican food? No? That's because he didn't need to. Cafe Acapulco is nostalgic in both menu & decor. That is in no way a knock. It would appear they learned to something very well & see no reason to change. That's refreshing. On various trips, we have ordered the taco salad, pollo enchiladas de crema, fajita enchiladas, brunch buffet, and a few different appetizers. The shredded chicken that comes in the enchiladas and the chicken nacho apps...it is utterly amazing. It is worth the price of admission. It is moist, flavorful, and tender. Please, try something with the shredded chicken if nothing else! The fajita beef is well-marinated and cooked properly. The queso is light, the salsa delicious, and the frijoles are refreshing. Of special note is the rice. Rarely do you find fluffly rice that is perfectly seasoned - with carrots & lima beans. Okay, that sounds wrong, but it works! The brunch buffet is nice, but not spectacular. What's cool is that it is really the only Mexican breakfast in the area, and it meets expectations. The service is not always consistent. On our last visit, the young man who brought the chips & salsa was downright surly, but that is rare. read more

Their chips are light n very tasty with the black bean dip n salsa, great start to the meal. I love their enchiladas. I requested the trio, one chicken sour cream, one cheese, and one spinach chicken fajita with tomatillo sauce. Instead of rice n beans I asked for the sautéed veggies. All very delicious! The restaurant is older, not sleek n modern, but the food is great. read more

Wow! Just wow! Every single dish we ordered was cooked to perfect: brisket tacos, chimichanga, Salvadoran Tamales, refried beans, charro beans, pupusas! Every single item was mouth watering! Can't recommend this restaurant enough, and I already can't wait to go back (and order way more tamales )! read more

Pleasantly surprised! The stuffed jalapeños and chicken quesadillas were my favorite off the appetizer combo. My husband had the Cafe Acapulco Enchiladas and he emptied his plate!! Cocktails were a bit heavy on the sweetness but the margaritas were yummy. Definitely a must if you're in the area! read more

A couple of friends and I decided to have lunch at Cafe A after church. My friend ordered the appetizer combo and it was a hit. Seriously the best thing on the menu, the quesadilla, nachos, flautas and fixings where amazing. I ordered my usual an order of street tacos and a side of tortilla soup. You should try it. If I could give Cafe A more than 5 stars I would. Best Mexican in Arlington!!!! read more

The owner sat us very nice man the music was really good on point (not too loud) Spanish mix music. Greated promptly with quick refill of fresh chips and salsa. Nice setting the very friendly Jared with our server who is also the owners son (he recommends jared fajita plate) the fajitas on the enchiladas is sooooo good that's why. Plate was extremity hot which is great because it means the food wasn't sitting in the kitchen for long at all. Full bar and extremity friendly staff. Will return for that near home Mexican food craving. read more

Another adventure and it came with food. We love to sample a different menu and how other people use foods we are not accustomed to. The Sunday lunch time started off a bit slow with just a few people there. As the afternoon approached 2:00, the crowd had expanded to a normal gathering. The meal was relaxing and not rushed. Started with chips and salsa and a side of dark bean dip. I had a mix between fajita and chimichanga. Soft rolled flower tortilla stuffed with brisket. Typical sides of beans and rice. My host had a plantain with a mixture of other ingredients that looked like a fat pancake. Another corn based with potatoes. It was enjoyable. Have not been here in over 20 years. New management. New menu. Salvador food. read more

I eat lunch by myself pretty much every workday. For the past year or so, that has almost exclusively meant fast food drive-through. But now that I'm double-vaxxed, I'm feeling a little more adventurous and ready to start dining in again. And one of my post-Covid resolutions was to start seeking out smaller family-owned places that were hard hit by the pandemic. I got there about 12:45 on a weekday last week. The place is located in a non-descript strip-mall, under a tattoo parlor. Next to a vape shop. Perfect location for a dive-y lunch spot. Upon entering, I was surprised to see how big it was. I bet it seats 80-100 people. There were only a handful of other customers there at this time, maybe 10 or so. A guy who I presume was the owner greeted me promptly and seated me, and took my drink order. Just a soft drink...this was lunch after all. Chips with a pretty standard red salsa and also a black bean dip were out promptly with my drink. I got one of the enchilada lunch specials, which came out super fast. They were a little on the bland side, but still a perfectly serviceable Mexican food lunch. I'll try something a little more adventurous next time. Less than $13 before tip, right where you would expect. All in all, a pretty good lunch experience. I would come back and give another try sometime soon. And I'm going out on a limb here, but I bet this is more of a dinner/happy hour spot than it is a lunch place, just judging by the size of the bar area. And there's a pretty good size patio, too. read more

The tortilla soup was phenomenal. The cheese enchiladas made with RANCID cheese was absolutely horrendous! The owner came over and when I asked him to smell the cheese he said "I'm the only one here". Sir, you can NOT serve people SPOILED FOOD!!! read more

We have been patrons here for years; both in person, take out and via online ordering. Usually good service and consistent food until recently. Missing entrees, lack of usual ingredients, rubbery tortillas and a refusal coupled with rudeness by the manager to correct the missing entree issue. Food is always good. If you don't like something then tell them. Rarely have we had something we didn't like. Service can be a bit slow.

Today a group of us had lunch at Cafe Acapulco, and even though we had been there several other times, today it was fabulous. All commented on how good our meals were. They were better than we have ever had there! I was adventurous and tried the new stuffed avocado with ground beef. It was amazing!!! The early Sunday shift waitress is just top notch. read more

Came in for lunch. Restaurant had 3 customers. I can assume it was the owner waiting on tables. He was very unpleasant. He never came to our tables unless we flagged him down. The kitchen made mistakes on our orders and he never offered to correct. He checked on the other tables often and made gestures towards us as if we were bothering him when in fact we were customers as well. The food was basic. Makes sense as to why it was empty and the customer service sucks! read more

Great food! Love their fajitas, salsa, and margaritas! The owner Jose is the best. We visit here regularly.

OMG, the family had some amazing fish tacos, street tacos, and carissa plate! The chips were fresh with each refill and the sauces were absolutely fabulous!!! Have you ever had a papusa before? WELL IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD ONE HERE. This spot take it to the next level. Comprende? The answer is no, you don't comprende, unless you've had one of these cheesy slices of heaven melt in your mouth just like god intended. Service was spectacular, this was my first time there, and I was immediately greeted like your cousin that you spent your entire childhood growing up with only for his parents to move to Singapore for a 'good job' just as you guys were about to enter high school, and you were already one week into freshmen football tryouts. Long story semi-short, they will take care of you. End of the day, you can't go wrong. Check this place out if you have any respect for yourself read more

This is probably my favorite Mexican/Salvadoran spot this side of the border. I had the pleasure to come home to Texas after being gone for many moons in a foreign land that knows nothing of authenticity of good Mexican cuisine. I had the pleasure of stopping in after a good friend recommended the spot. The service was prompt and my mans Mitchel really knew how to hook us up. I'm talking about within seconds of being seated he had chips and salsa on the table and shortly after the Margaritas arrived. It's like they knew were going to ask for them! Would strongly recommend the Mango or Skinny margarita. Honestly can't go wrong with either and prices are great on and off happy hour times. Yes, we continued to drink past happy hour. I have no regrets. I will reiterate, Mitchel makes a damn good Margarita. We decided to go with Evan's special for an appetizer and some white queso. Up north you don't really get a chance to get pupusa's without knowing an El Salvadorian family. I forgot how simply fantastic pork pupusa's are and this feeling was very bittersweet. Obviously magical in my mouth, but a terrible feeling not knowing where or when my next pupusa would be :( The few of us split our meals so we could try a little bit of everything. All together we got Jared's special fajitas, brisket tacos, and the baja shrimp. I need y'all to put on your imagination hats right quick. Is it on? Good. Now imagine the best tasting mexican food you've ever had. All those savory flavors, all the spices, all the hardwork, and years of dedication to finding the perfect mix. I bet you can hear the mexican music in the background. It was all of that in every bite. It felt monumental like a right of passage of mine to consume everything I could. Obviously the fajitas were the main event, but don't let that deceive you from the rest of the meal including the simple rice and beans for a side were beyond amazing. Truly a tremendous meal that made my trip back to Texas worth it. This is completely unrelated to the food, but I had an opportunity to chat with one of the manager's there named Jared. Let me tell ya what Jared was absolutely stellar! Friendliest guy I've ever met. His words "I'm pretty much famous have you not heard about my fajitas." Dude is a cool bromigo and is just a blast with all his references. In conclusion, amazing staff. Fantastic food. Glorious restaurant I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time and enjoy a meal. Do not attend if you like bland foods or are picky. This is for the real food consumers. 10/10 and 10 thumbs up! read more

This is my number one eating place in Arlington. I have been eating here for many years. I have brought friend and family here. Our family had Christmas dinner here two times when they were open back then on December 25. Jose the new owner workdhard to make things great. My favorite dish is the cheese enchiladas covered with cheese. My wife likes the chicken quesadillas and our son loves the street tacos and nachos. One thing we all like is that I never have to wait for a seat like at other places. And also, the bean dip that comes with your chips is great. read more

04/21/19 Friday 11:30 am. I really wish I could rate this place higher. For starters they had one server and she was running ragged. There were a total 7 in our party and 3 other tables inside of 2 people per table. She apologized for taking so long to come to our table but she was the only one besides the cook who was there. She apologized and offered the same thing when she forgot to take the drink order from one of the guys at the table. So you get the idea of the whole lunch. Had to ask for more chips, more salsa. I grabbed the silverware for our table since she was missing in action often. The food. It wasn't terrible but was okay, my carbon taco were average. Beans and rice a bit bland. The papusas were good according to other at the table. The margaritas were not watered down which was surprising. The first one had sugar and the rim and the second salt. Weird. I will probably not be back as there are plenty of better Mexican restaurants around. 11/14/19 Thursday 1:15 pm. Why my classmates chose to come here is beyond me. Once again we are seated immediately but the service is almost as terrible as last time. One young lady was waiting on a table of 6, a table of 3, and our table of 5. We sat for a bit and then she took our drink order. Then she disappeared for a while . When she came back she dropped drinks and chips with beans. She forgot our salsa and we had to remind her because she dropped the chips and hurried off. She finally came back to take our order expressing her frustration because she was the only server. We said you need some help. The owner or manager gentleman had been at the front when we walked in and I saw him sitting by the cash register a little later. He should have been helping her refill drinks at least. The food is decent, but the service and time to get food is terrible! I don't know how this place stays open?!! All day happy hour during the week is my guess. Hope you don't need to be anywhere soon! Mister " I try to stop by the tables and check on the guests",yeah that guy never came by! read more
