We love this place for the giant popusas, they are must. But the day I was there the restaurant had a strong sewer smell that never went away. read more

Restaurant La Campina - Desayuno Campestre - Salvadoran Near Me - Arlington, Texas

Horrible place, I saw about 6 cockroaches while eating. Staff literally had to go get some that were next to our table, my kid was literally terrified and couldn't even eat. I wasn't able to enjoy any of the food and all I got was like 5 dollars off, from a 120 dollar tab. To get that experience from a place that overpriced isn't good at all. I wouldn't even step a foot in there again. read more

Grocery and restaurant combo. I haven't tried anything except for the papusas. They are made fresh and they are good. Typical style with meat, beans or cheese. You are here for real El Salvador food and not the decor. But honestly, I like this type of place. They give you want you want and nothing else: good food. read more

Service quality & nice ambience everything was great :) Best fluffy , filling and affordable popusas!!!! The curtido and salsa was delicious definitely a must have whenever you come eat here. We had the agua de Jamaica and agua de horchata both were sooooo goood not too sweet but just enough flavor !! Loved it read more

Excellent food and service. We arrived and I was surprised by how large the restaurant was! It was also decorated beautifully and looked squeaky clean! I ordered one of the breakfast plates and I was so impressed; everything was made to order and it definitely tasted like it. The beans were silky and delicious, the two El Salvadoran cheeses were delectable, and the tortillas were HANDMADE, FLUFFY and out of this world. I also ordered a pupusa, which looked so good, but I was so full with my breakfast plate I had to take it home. For the folks that are not familiar with this Central American treat, you are missing out! The best way to describe it would be to say it's two dough-y tortillas filled with your choice of filling along with delicious white cheese. It's heavenly. My husband ordered a carne asada and it did not disappoint. The portions were massive and he said it was delicious as well! The restaurant also has a bakery/mini-market within it so we were able to take home baked goodies! They were so good without being overly sweet or sugary. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back! Delicious food and excellent service, plus our waitress was so nice! Five stars! read more

First of all, they must remove the Salvadoran name, we Salvadorans do not provide such bad service, in 8 years of living in Tx never treated us so badly, it took them 1 hour to tell them that there was not one of the dishes we ordered, I wanted to change the Order three minutes after I asked for it and it couldn't be done, we asked for water and they brought us water with shells that was disgusting, we asked for a French bread or bolillo and it took 30 minutes. When I asked for the manager they told me they didn't have any, it's expensive and the famous pupusas, apart from being thin, taste like tortiila without anything. en primer lugar deben quitarse el nombre salvadoreño, los salvadoreños no damos tan mal servicio, en 8 años de vivir en Tx jamás nos habían tratado tan mal, se tardaron 1 hr para decirlos que no hay habia uno de los platos que pedimos, quería cambiar la orden tres minutos después que la pedí y no se podia, pedimos agua y nos llevaron agua con cáscaras eso fue asqueroso, pedimos un pan francés o bolillo y se tardaron 30 min. cuando pregunte por el manager me dijeron que no tenian, es caro y las famosas pupusas a parte de delgaditas saben a tortiila sin nada read more

As a Salvadorian, this place is an embarrassment. Real bad service. Waited an hour for tortillas that went along with my order and didn't get it till after I was done with my meal. Server didn't even give us the utensils, I had to get up and go ask for them. Horrible service read more

It was great it was quite and chill and the food was good until I saw a hair fried into a popusa hence the three stars but besides that everything was great I hope they are going trough all the rules and regulations but that is all for me read more

I ordered pupusas over the phone and sent someone to pick up for me, when they got home and I counted them I was missing two, I called back to let them know, to see if they could make it right, and they swore they sent me the right amount and didn't fix it. why would I lie about two pupusas... read more

I normally frequented this location once a month or so. Unfortunately, this past Saturday will be my last. There was a cockroach body part in my scrambled eggs. After i bit into it there was a crunch sound. Afterwards my friend and I looked closely and I friend even put it on a napkin off my plate. I asked to speak with a Manager only to be questioned and reassured by Roxanna that it was a shrimps' leg. I'm guessing she thought I was stupid because a shrimps' leg is not brown. The was a cockroaches leg. Of course she quickly took the plate away. Never offered an apologetic reply. She only offered to re-cook my meal in which I was completely disgusted after what had just happen. She didn't even offer to comp the meal. I'd had to tell her I wasn't paying. So disappointed with what I had to experience. Definitely won't go back and it will take a little while before I eat out again. read more

My favorite tacos are the simple ones. A double layer of tortillas, some cilantro and onions, a squeeze of lime and topped with some salsa verde. At La Campina, you'll get just that. They're made to order so the meat comes out hot and juicy. I love how the meat is soo lean and flavorful. I would seriously pick this place over Habaneros any day because of how lean their meat is. The tacos are $1.25 a piece- so for an order of three, the total came out to be $4.05. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, one for each of us since it was my first time trying them. We ended coming back for another order of three- this time trying their beef (fajita) tacos. The meat had a nice crisp to them and they were diced in little pieces so it wasn't too hard to eat. I really like how the meat wasn't chewy or filled with gristle. The restaurant sells random Mexican/ el Salvadorean stuff like spices and shampoo. If you happen to be in this part of Arlington, check this place out. I noticed they had Huevos Rancheros.. I'm definitely going to try that next. read more

The food is delicious, but the service makes me dread coming here! We waited at least 20 minutes just to get drinks that we ordered when the server first acknowledged us. I couldn't say that she was too busy or may have forgot because she walked past us plenty of times. If they could get better servers I'd be here a lot more often. read more

The food was very good, hot and fresh. But the service was disappointing and irritating. The service was very slow and we waited for 30 minutes for our check so we could leave. I would have taken a picture of our plates before but I wasn't planning on leaving a review. But after such slow and poor service I thought I'd put in my two cents. read more

We used to come here all the time. They recently changed owners and the quality of service and food has gone down! Our plátanos fritos (plantains) were not good, this has happened the last 3 times we have came. Service is terrible. People that work here seem unhappy to be working here. read more

Yes, the food did take a while to come out but it's only cause they make it to order. When I asked how ripe the plantains were, she came back from the kitchen, plantain in hand to make sure it's what I wanted...and it was. The pupusas are large and two of them more than filled me up. Nice and gooey inside, full of cheese and chicharrón. The curtido is flavorful and plenty. I'm so glad that this a stone's throw from my casa...LOVE LOVE LOVE and I'll def come back! read more

I have been here a couple of times now. It was good both times, and both times I had the pupusas. I had the bean and cheese and the chicken. They bring out this coleslaw looking topping which really brings out the flavor of the pupusas. Limited english is spoken here but they understand english. Restaurant La Campina - Pupusas time! - Salvadoran Near Me - Arlington, Texas

Finally found me a good salvadoran restaurant in Arlington! Food was yummy: I (mex-am) had 1 fajita taco, the meat was in big chunks with little fat and much flavor. I had 2 pupusas; the chicharron was tasty and the loroco had much flavor, the outside of the pupusas were crispy do to the oozing cheese but the inside was soft and gooey. My other half (salvadoran) had beef soup. It looked clean (not much grease or the dark protein from the boil on top). The soup came with a side of rice and hand made tortillas. I got to taste it and was pretty darn yummy and comforting. Then we shared a bread pudding that was cinnamonny and buttery and I had coffee. Our grand total: $16.12. We even watch a whole soccer game there. The ambience is family oriented and clean. We will be coming for more. read more

Im giving them 1 star by default..or id give them a zero! They served me pupusas with a fly...yes I said fly. I threw up in the bathroom as soon as I saw it. Good thing I didn't take a bite or I would have ate it. The service..mediocre and the quality of food is ridiculous. I would say pick another place to eat. I'm very upset at what happened.

The food here is good however I'm only giving 2 stars for the service. The girls at the cashier are rude, the girl taking my order was using her phone while taking my order and she looked mad. Then the wait took forever! And the restaurant only had about two tables busy when we got there. Next time I'll just order over the phone and pick up. read more

The food definitely deserves four stars, however I am inclined to give it 1 star because their customer service is horrible. I make my orders in advance by 30 minutes every time, I show up to the restaurant 30 minutes after I place my order and the food is still not ready, despite being told the food will be ready in 15 minutes. The cashiers are horrible and don't seem to have any care in the world for their customers; they don't acknowledge you at all until you basically tell them that you need to pay. Do not waste your hard earned money in a place that doesn't value you as a customer. read more

It's definitely an authentic establishment and seems to have good food, but service was slower than a sloth on vicodin! All we ordered was a couple of pupusas and carne asada and it took 45 minutes to receive our order, despite being told it would take 15-20 minutes. read more

I had never known a place where they served you in such a bad way, the food is good but the waiters have very bad education and a way to treat you; I do not recommend this place to eat there read more

The food was pretty great and so was our waitress but I was not happy with the management of this establishment. We purchased a restaurant.com gift certificate for this place and they would not accept it because they said they requested for it to pulled from the site, despite the fact that the certificate states that it never expires. I was out extra funds and felt as if management should have honored the deal or met me half way. Due to the lack of customer service by management I will not be a patron here again. read more

The food is great! However the service is awful, every time I go I have to wait around for someone to acknowledge me. I would buy more from them if they actually had good service. I don't recommend to eat there, making a To-Go order 45 min ahead is the best way to go to! read more
