Horrible place, I saw about 6 cockroaches while eating. Staff literally had to go get some that were next to our table, my kid was literally terrified and couldn't even eat. I wasn't able to enjoy any of the food and all I got was like 5 dollars off, from a 120 dollar tab. To get that experience from a place that overpriced isn't good at all. Excellent food and service. We arrived and I was surprised by how large the restaurant was! It was also decorated beautifully and looked squeaky clean! I ordered one of the breakfast plates and I was so impressed; everything was made to order and it definitely tasted like it. The beans were silky and delicious, the two El Salvadoran cheeses were delectable, and the tortillas were HANDMADE, FLUFFY and out of this world. I also ordered a pupusa, which looked so good, but I was so full with my breakfast plate I had to take it home. For the folks that are not familiar with this Central American treat, you are missing out! The best way to describe it would be to say it's two dough-y tortillas filled with your choice of filling along with delicious white cheese. It's heavenly. My husband ordered a carne asada and it did not disappoint. The portions were massive and he said it was delicious as well! The restaurant also has a bakery/mini-market within it so we were able to take home baked goodies! They were so good without being overly sweet or sugary. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back! I normally frequented this location once a month or so. Unfortunately, this past Saturday will be my last. There was a cockroach body part in my scrambled eggs. After i bit into it there was a crunch sound. Afterwards my friend and I looked closely and I friend even put it on a napkin off my plate. I asked to speak with a Manager only to be questioned and reassured by Roxanna that it was a shrimps' leg. I'm guessing she thought I was stupid because a shrimps' leg is not brown. The was a cockroaches leg. Of course she quickly took the plate away. Never offered an apologetic reply. She only offered to re-cook my meal in which I was completely disgusted after what had just happen. She didn't even offer to comp the meal. I'd had to tell her I wasn't paying. My favorite tacos are the simple ones. A double layer of tortillas, some cilantro and onions, a squeeze of lime and topped with some salsa verde. At La Campina, you'll get just that. They're made to order so the meat comes out hot and juicy. I love how the meat is soo lean and flavorful. I would seriously pick this place over Habaneros any day because of how lean their meat is. The tacos are $1.25 a piece- so for an order of three, the total came out to be $4.05. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, one for each of us since it was my first time trying them. We ended coming back for another order of three- this time trying their beef (fajita) tacos. The meat had a nice crisp to them and they were diced in little pieces so it wasn't too hard to eat. I really like how the meat wasn't chewy or filled with gristle. The restaurant sells random Mexican/ el Salvadorean stuff like spices and shampoo. The food is delicious, but the service makes me dread coming here! We waited at least 20 minutes just to get drinks that we ordered when the server first acknowledged us. I couldn't say that she was too busy or may have forgot because she walked past us plenty of times. If they could get better servers I'd be here a lot more often. read more

Yes, the food did take a while to come out but it's only cause they make it to order. When I asked how ripe the plantains were, she came back from the kitchen, plantain in hand to make sure it's what I wanted...and it was. The pupusas are large and two of them more than filled me up. Nice and gooey inside, full of cheese and chicharrón. The curtido is flavorful and plenty. I'm so glad that this a stone's throw from my casa...LOVE LOVE LOVE and I'll def come back! read more

I make my orders in advance by 30 minutes every time, I show up to the restaurant 30 minutes after I place my order and the food is still not ready, despite being told the food will be ready in 15 minutes. The cashiers are horrible and don't seem to have any care in the world for their customers; they don't acknowledge you at all until you basically tell them that you need to pay. Finally found me a good salvadoran restaurant in Arlington! Food was yummy: I (mex-am) had 1 fajita taco, the meat was in big chunks with little fat and much flavor. I had 2 pupusas; the chicharron was tasty and the loroco had much flavor, the outside of the pupusas were crispy do to the oozing cheese but the inside was soft and gooey. My other half (salvadoran) had beef soup. It looked clean (not much grease or the dark protein from the boil on top). The soup came with a side of rice and hand made tortillas. I got to taste it and was pretty darn yummy and comforting. Then we shared a bread pudding that was cinnamonny and buttery and I had coffee. Our grand total: $16.12. We even watch a whole soccer game there. The ambience is family oriented and clean. We will be coming for more. read more
