We love this place, we celebrated Father's Day here, with food, drinks, and live Mariachi. You can't go wrong with that. It was 5 adults and 5 kids, We had Parrillada Mexicana that serves up to 3 people, so we had 2 of these. It comes with, Grilled tender chunks of chicken, beef fajitas, sausage, ribs, and added shrimps for an additional cost. Served on a Mexican parrilla with charro beans, pico de gallo, and rice. Fajitas Served with guacamole, pico de gallo, and charro beans. Guiso Picoso (Spicy) Beef stew with diced green peppers, onion, tomatoes, jalapenos, and spicy. Served with rice and beans. The food is ok. More authentic Mexican but prices in $15-25 a plate is too much for the offerings here. The house margaritas taste exactly like "the bucket" premise margaritas from Walmart but they're $10 and even the top shelf is made with cheap sauza tequila. They offer menudo but it's $9...that's pretty high for tripe. For the prices I'd definitely go to Gloria's instead. Normally I'd rate maybe 2.5 stars but my car got hit in front in view of their camera and they told me to come back the next day to see if I can get the video to file a hit and run report. When I come back they say that they won't let me see the video or get a copy unless the police are asking. Ok. So I have to wait an extensive time (rightly so, it's not an emergency) for the police to arrive and ask for the video that they could have just helped me out with to lower the deductible on my insurance from a "something hit me or maybe I'm lying" to a "uninsured motorist" or possibly nothing if there's a plate number. They were completely unwilling to help a customer out after something like that happened. They also just told us to wait in the front and didn't offer maybe a water, at most some chips or something while we wait on the officer and all of this experience just shows the real level of care they have for their customers. read more

I had a really good takeout experience on Friday. I've never eaten here but thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas with a side of pickled jalapeños and guacamole. Holy cow it was good! The food was nicely packaged, chips were warm and the salsa was unbelievable. I know everyone has their own preference for salsa but you could definitely tell it was homemade and spicy, so be careful! I like spicy! When I called to order the employee instructed me to call and they would bring it out to my car. There are several takeout spaces available. Have been waiting for this to open for at least 2 years & every time I drive by, it is packed. Last night, it had parking spots, so I asked my son to join me for dinner there. Nice interior, different rooms to eat in. Tables, along with table/booth combos. The table/booth combos are a bit weird - the sections of the booth seats are not the same height & sit higher than you would expect, so table is a bit low feeling on the booth side. Not a fan of that seating arrangement for a couple of reasons - if you are behind the table, every single person on the booth side will have to get up, for you to get out! Interesting digital juke box - playing 80s pop in Spanish! Wait staff was very attentive, place was spotless. Menu is easily read - yes, the names of the dishes are in Spanish! To be expected, yet somebody in another review complained about that.... They have a huge variety of dishes to offer! Not your usual fare at all & made it hard to choose! Warning, the prices are higher than usual - most are $13 & up. They had a goat dish for $40 & change. 3 goat tacos, plus beans/rice - almost $23. Some of the appetizers are as costly as entrees at other places. Alcoholic drinks, or drinks of any sort, where not listed on the menu. I saw no desserts listed. My margarita (taste was good, didn't pack a punch though) was huge & $9 - so average price. **IMHO - THE BEST SALSA IN ARLINGTON! Definitely has a kick, great flavor! Chips are thick & nicely crunchy! *** We ordered elotes, $5.95, to start. Unfortunately, they came to us only about 5 minutes before our entrees did. Grilled corn on the cob, nicely crunchy. I didn't get the taste of cayenne pepper on mine at all, there was little of the crema & areas of lots of "sprinkle" cheese that made it eat dry. The crema itself was a subtle, but nice flavor - just needed a lot more of it! I ordered the Asado de Puerco, for $13.95. Rich, thick red sauce, beans & rice. There was enough pork for 2 meals, seriously! Huge lean chunks of porky goodness! The beans were decent & the rice meh. I would order this again & just doctor the rice with salsa. My son ordered the Carne Tampiquena, for $17.95. Looked like beef fajitas, with tomato chunks added. It came with charro beans & an enchilada. ***The enchilada turned out to be a thinly sliced roll of sweet potato, with a white cheese inside & on top - NO SAUCE! He wasn't totally pleased with that at all. I do think that calling that an enchilada was very misleading*** He said the meat was tender & would order it again. I tasted it & was not impressed - I was hoping for a bigger flavor profile. The beef was tender, but it & the veggies tasted roasted, as opposed to grilled (it didn't say grilled, btw!). My dish had far more meat. While we were waiting for our checks, our waiter brought us little bowls of rice & a warm sweetened thickened milk, dusted with cinnamon. Since we saw no desserts listed, this was an unexpected surprise! Not too sweet, pleasant taste, really liked it! My tab - 1 margarita, the Asado de Puerco & splitting the elotes came to a bit over $27. My son had a soda, the Carne Tampiquena & half the elotes - his was a bit over $25. We came for breakfast. The staff was awesome and very friendly. There are two locations, one in Dallas and now one here in Arlington. This breakfast was nothing like the Dallas location. No flavor, watered down food; beans, rice with milk, & the tortillas were flat and bland (no taste). Nothing like the Dallas location! Will not be back for breakfast. But she brings out our drinks 10 minutes later with mini bar straws because she says their out of straws. She tells us your chips and salsa will be brought out soon we just need to get someone to bring them out. WTH?! But ok. I go to order the tripas and she says oh we're out and continues to name three other plates their out of! First time at El Ranchito & it did not disappoint. It's pretty spacious, and looks like it gets busy. My family and I didn't have to wait since we had made reservations. The chips and salsa at El Ranchito is pretty impressive! You can't just have one. The salsa is spicy and the chips tasted fresh and were crisp. I ate a whole bowl of salsa by myself! I took a risk and ordered the cheese Chile Relleno. Overall it was good, it was finely breaded and had some type of salsa on top of it. It also comes with rice, beans and guacamole. I personally would not order it again, because I wasn't completely satisfied with it. However, I do have high expectations on classic dishes like the Chile Relleno. I also had a bite of the cheese enchiladas that my sister ordered, & THAT was delicious. It was very flavorful & cooked to perfection. El Ranchito is a place worth checking out! All I can say is wow!! We originally had plans to eat at campo verde( for the holiday decor) but after hearing how long the wait was we happened to find el Ranchito! And what a gem it was!! We dined with our children and my parents and everyone was very pleased with great tasting food and excellent service! The salsa was homemade and delicious! We had the Parilla dish for the adults which came with steak, chicken, pork ribs and shrimp. All of it had excellent flavor. The tortillas both corn and flour were fresh! My girlfriend wanted the Spinach Enchiladas with Queso on top. And of course I got my Tripas. Their free chips and salsa is always good too. The food came out and my GF couldn't wait to dig in. I gave her a couple of pieces of my Tripas and she said that's probably the best she's ever tried! Cause a lot of place deep fry theirs too long to where it's only crunchy. If I can leave a no star review i would..First time at this place, made reservations for my family for my grandma's birthday a week ahead, I was informed yes they can do a party of 37 but DID NOT inform me at all with how tickets would be split up. Due to having a big party they took advantage of us so server could get his tip & have one check. On top of that he DID NOT do a good job of listening to us on what our needs were. Also they only had ONE SERVER for this big party. Food was good but would of tasted GREAT if it was HOT! I've been in Arlington since February and this is a great place to eat. My partner and I started with a swirl margarita, which was fantastic. Fantastic because it didn't have too much sweet and sour. Like most resturant we got chips and salsa, if you like salsa with a kick, then ask for the spicy salsa. I ordered POLLO EN MOLE and my wife ordered CAMARONES ENCHIPOTLADOS. Both dishes looked appetizing and tasted even better. The children's plates were spot on for our boys and they got enough to feed an adult.
