From the outside, this place is super unassuming. For the years I have passed it, with the generic "Mexican Restaurant" sign lighting the sky, I have driven by imagining a place that sells individual tacos and has no place to sit. I WAS WRONGGGGGG. Friday, I finally decided to give it a try. It is a seat yourself place (though there is no sign directing you to do so). Inside, it is not much to look at. Between the mounted old box TV's, the fundraiser lollipops on the cashier stand and the stocks of canned sodas stacked under some old signange, you get the feeling that this place has some tenure. The place is actually a pretty large building. There is ample seating, and even tables for big families. The staff is a skeleton crew, but the place was pretty quiet. They offer canned sodas, homemade aqua frescas and horchata. They don't default to bringing you a water, but will if you ask. You get one basket of chips, and they bring out two squeeze bottles of salsas. A sign on the wall says "Extra Chips, $1." The red salsa really has a kick. I liked this. The green salsa is really mild, but has a complex, tasty flavor. I spent most of my time with the red one. The menu isn't complex, and is much more "Tex-Mex friendly" than one may believe from the aesthetics. If you order the enchiladas they ask if you would like red sauce of green sauce. The waitress said "The red and the green like those," and pointed at the salsa squeeze bottles. I enjoyed the red, so I said red. However, the script flipped. The green actually had more heat to it, and the red tasted of a heavy tomato base. Granted, the red was good for enchiladas, but it had a distinct tomato taste that was more akin to a pasta or pizza. I enioyed the meal. The rice and beans were on point, and the overall fulfilling food made up for the food being served on styrofoam plates. The waitress was kind and accommodating, and the location right off Cooper Street in the shopping center across from Rusty's made for a perfect dip in. I will certainly return, and I suggest that if you are considering it that you give it a try. Whether you are one that doesn't venture past Taco Bueno, or one of those that orders the wild looking menu item that is a fried fish with the head still on, you will likely find something satisfying.

The caldo de pollo was delicious! It was exactly what I needed when I was sick. The tacos were good too.

Three delicious chicken enchiladas with green sauce, rice, beans, and chips for $9. That is a deal.

The restaurant reveals itself to be larger once you're inside. It's a cozy dining experience and I liked the cluttered decor of Mexican tchotchkes and liquor bottles. The owners were very kind to reserve tables for our large group and arrange for us all to pay separately. I tried the cheese enchiladas and they were very filling - they came with Spanish rice and refried beans on the side. I was tempted by the taco salad... some fellow diners ordered it and they were serving size was enormous! Most dishes here seemed well suited to having enough leftovers for the next day.

I will tell you why. The Chips were stale. The salsa was fresh, a little too hot and lacked flavor. My Enchiladas Pablanas were dry and lacked flavor. The Refried Beans were flavorless and the rice was undercooked. I tried my Cousin's Queso. It tasted like Tostitos Cheese Sauce? I tried her Chicken Flautas out of curiosity. I like the crispiness of the Tortilla but, when I took a bite, a chunk of meat was clumped together! It's like it had been previously frozen? It's nice and clean inside and they had a good crowd. The Manager and Waitress were really nice. I called the Manager before, I went to ask him how the Promotion worked. He knew exactly what I was talking about. I really appreciate that even though he had a thick accent. Despite the great reviews, I would not recommend or return. This the only restaurant that I've had such a bad experience. I lost my winning streak of finding good restaurants. I hope my cousin has not lost ,her respect for me. Lol!

They were stuffed with tender meat and were not excessively greasy. They come with onion and cilantro and three different salsas. Kind of embarrassed to say I ate it all but I couldn't help it. It's easily our favorite place for anything birria. From the birria pizza to the tacos, everything is incredible. The dipping consomé is seriously to die for, and the meat is cooked to absolute perfection. The service is great, and the Chicano art painted throughout the restaurant gives the whole place such a cool, authentic vibe. We always share the combo because you get a little bit of everything, and trust me, it will definitely fill you up. Seriously, get it. This is our number one taco spot in DFW, and after your first visit, it might be yours too.

Their AC was clearly not working, several of the wait staff was using personal fans so clearly they are aware of it. On top of that, our server was very slow, most likely because he was getting gratuity since we had a party of 12 so he didn't have to worry about getting a tip. The food was not great, and we were all soaked with sweat by the end of our meal. I would definitely call ahead and check to see if the AC is working before going here anytime soon.

Got pretty crowded by the time we left around 2:00 rising to a little bit noisy noise level. We got a guacamole side, taco plate, chicken chimichanga, and blue Cancun drink. Everything was pretty good sized. However, the guac and drink respectively were padded with lettuce and ice. Despite the padding, you still got a good amount--just not as much as it appears. The quality of everting was good, nothing was exceptional, but it was above average. The manager, server, and hostess were all very nice and provided good service. The lot was crowded both when we got there and when we left, but we were able to get a spot. Nice place for a casual sit down or business lunch. Give them a try.
