Chicken is on par if not better than chicken express but you have to wait 20 minutes. Seafood is good for the price, better than Long John Silver but again have yo wait. There is no real seasoning but I guess some people like that. Fries were good, not great or bad. Don't go with friends, too tiny. Restroom is "temporary closed". Warm fountain drinks, thank goodness for the ice dispenser. Menu is incomplete on what they have. read more

Some may be surprised to find good catfish here as the location doesn't strike you as the standard catfish location. But oh boy it is great. The owner is the nicest person ever. He makes sure you see what you purchase and can see that it is fresh. So flavorful! read more

Catfish was fried very well but not much seasoning other than salt possibly. Shrimp fried rice was pretty terrible. Had to throw it away out of fear of food poisoning from the shrimp. I think they may have boiled freezer burned shrimp and added them. No flavor to the dish at all. Fried Okra was hot and fresh. I'd return for the catfish and okra based on convenience to my neighborhood. I'm sure I have some seasonings in the cabinet to sprinkle on top while fresh to make these items 10/10. read more

This has always been my go to seafood quick bite in Mansfield the past 8+ years. I love the jumbo fried shrimp and or fried catfish (sometimes isn't fried as crispy). Every time I call ahead to pick up a to-go order, he's always finishing up frying them, so it's still hot when I eat them WHICH IS AWESOME. (This place is WAY better than long john silvers!) Customer services is always great here. Always welcoming and smiling. Not a fan of the fries though... the past couple times I've ordered.. the fries did not taste as fresh. They taste old, or left out too long. So that is disappointing. Overall, I'll continue to order here when I'm craving fried shrimp! I haven't tried any of their other items.. (maybe that should be my bucketlist this year...) because when I come.. I'm always in the mood for fried shrimp! read more

Was working nearby and came here for lunch, I got the chicken fried rice and Mac and cheese bites with fries and hush puppies for my daughter. The food was ready in about 10 minutes and it was about $8 a person. They didn't give me soy sauce or duck sauce, which I usually eat with my fried rice but it was still actually pretty good without it. I tried some of the fries, they were good, the hushpuppy was one of my favorites and the Mac and cheese bites were just amazing. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area. read more

Not knowing what I was really craving for after getting off work and I decided to let Yelp make suggestions for a cheap local place. This place came up and I'm glad it did because their fried fillet catfish was excellent! Tasty breading and perfectly fried with the fillet moist and flaky. For the price I wasn't expecting much and they do give you tartar sauce for the fish. I had the combo with fries and ordered a side of onion rings. I was a little disappointed they did not give me any ketchup, utensils or napkins. Hence the 4 Stars... before I went out for lunch I called and ordered 6 pieces of oysters and 10 wings...it took me five minutes to get there and he told me it would be ready in ten mins. I got there and waited extra 15 mins! my lunch is only 30 so you do the math! I was hungry and a little pissy when he finally handed me the food. I had to rush him because instead of helping his wife make the food...he was talking to a customer about the weather...He didnt packed all the right sauce either...he gave me cocktail sauce with oysters??? REALLY? that's for shrimps! the wings were undercooked and do you realize that you have to work faster during lunch hour? people have to get back to work!!! oysters were okay but cheap and I will only come back next time when I order 30 mins ahead of time. I was told that this place had excellent friend chicken. So my wife called it in as she was really craving for crispy fried chicken. We ordered a 9pc shrimp for me which came with fries and two miniature sized hush puppies for $10.99. I thought that was a good deal. We also ordered a 10 piece mixed, fried chicken only, for $20. I felt this was excessively high but given it's reputation, I thought maybe it was worth it. I have to say that the fried chicken here is pedestrian at best. I liked the shrimp a whole lot better than the yard bird. If they had used the same oil on the bird than the shrimp, it probably would have been worth the price. Truth be told, I've had better yard bird at Church's and/or Chicken Express. I may go back for the shrimp but I'll pass on the yard bird. Especially given how proud they are in the pricing. I was so excited to try this place and I truly wanted to love it BUT.... Well let me first say what I ordered. I got the 1 pc catfish and 3 pc shrimp combo. I also ordered a 10 pc chicken wings (lemon pepper). The fish was pretty good...not as crispy as I would've liked but maybe that was due to the styrofoam container it was in. The shrimp was crispy but season-less. Now this is where it got really disappointing...the chicken wings were not properly cooked! Seriously, I had to throw them in my oil less fryer when I got home. We order here from time to time but it's our go-to fried chicken and fried catfish place. The chicken is always soooo amazingly juicy and the batter to chicken ratio is superb. And also it's crunchy and CRISPY hence the name. The older guy in front is always nice and friendly, on phone and in person. This is almost like a local neighborhood secret. I don't believe they are doing dine in at this moment. But even before the pandemic, this was usually a place people come to pick up to-go. Usually I see husband and wife duo and I do call aheads. My husband and I pass this place a lot so one night we decided to try it out. The owner was very nice when we came in. We informed him it was our first time and he showed us the menu and where everything was located. The fried oysters are delicious! They're cleaned real well so you don't get that gritty taste like dirt is still there. They were very moist and tender. My 4 year old daughter chose the chicken tenders (go figure). They were also delicious! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The french fries resemble McDonald's famous fries where again, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried shrimp was awesome! They're pretty big and cut butterfly style. They batter it like Japanese tempura with panko crumbs. They cook everything fresh when you order it so it's hot when you take it home. I don't mind waiting for food if it means it's going to be hot, fresh, and delicious. read more

Great, little hole in the wall! It is owned by a lovely and sweet Asian couple. There isn't much of a set-up because the store is fairly small. However, the store is super clean and simple. A bench on the left and 4 chairs with tables on the wall to the right. I wouldn't recommend the barbecue wings. But I recommend the fried chicken and tenders! They really take their time frying the food. And the combos are only $7.99 with drink, fries and an entree. They also serve calamari sticks, cheesecake, gizzards, fried rice, okra (the typical fried foods sides), fried oysters, shrimp, and catfish. Stop by and support this sweet couple! read more
